Description
Hi! We are Mabe, Alexa, Lan and Aurelie. We are friends and we are building our magical home in the region of San Martin (35km from Tarapoto). Amairani is a community space in the Peruvian jungle, open to all who seek to know the Amazon jungle. We want to co-create a self-sustainable project, respecting the environment and helping the community around. It's a space for working with the earth in a quiet life, where we learn and share along the way, a space of re-connection with nature and with ourselves.
Each traveler brings their own experience, knowledge, good energy and love ... all this adds to create this dream in nature.
Specifically, we produce organic food, we take care of animals, medicinal plants and trees, and we are in the process of building bungalows with natural technics, dry toilets, and a water collection system. We use the principles o permaculture to take care of our magic place.Types of help and learning opportunities

We also have chickens to help us in the garden, we compost, use dry toilets and are gonna begin to build bungalows with natural technics. we can need help for al of that labours.
We also make bread, kefir and fermented products.

We have a common house where we all live. So we will share the bathroom, kitchen and living room.
For you to sleep, we have 2 private rooms with double beds and 1 room with bunk bed to share.
Also if you like the adventures there is a Maloca close to the house where you can sleep in tent or hammoc (we provide the material).
We are Ovo/lacto/vegetarian and we mainly eat fresh products from our garden. We buy once a week dryfood (or what is missing) in Tarapoto.
We will provide the food on the working days for breakfast, lunch and diner (everybody participate in the preparation and we share the meal) and you are free to eat whatever you want in our place or outside on your days off :)What else ...
Our place is located in the protected area "Cordillera escalera" at 35km from the city of Tarapoto and you can come and go by colectivos (between 5-10 soles) or buses.
Arround Tarapoto you can visit the city of Lamas, laguna sauce (close to tarapoto) and some beautiful waterfalls (Ahuashiyacu, Pishurayacu, Carpishuyaco) at 15min by car.
Walking from the house, you can visit "el salto de la bruja" and "lagrima de la novia" which are magical places.
If you want to stay close to the house you can chill in the land, take a bath in the river, or read a book in our hammocs enjoying the jungle life.A little more information

Pasamos un mes increíble en Amairani. Mabe y Aurélie son personas muy amables y acogedoras. Esa es sin duda una experiencia Workaway completa.
