  Description

  We created an association in our village in Montembœuf which manages a place of exchange, meetings and activities for the inhabitants. We manage a café, a canteen and we organize events: concerts, games evenings etc. Among the activities we organize cultural exchange workshops around cooking, DIY, sewing, knitting, among others… any new workshop idea is welcome! The association's vocation is an eco-citizen and responsible commitment. We live in a village of 700 inhabitants 2 hours from Bordeaux by car and 1 hour by train. The inhabitants are French but also British and Turkish.
  Nous avons créé une association dans notre village à Montembœuf qui gère un lieu d’échange, de rencontres et d’activités pour les habitants. Nous gérons un café, une cantine et nous organisons des événements: concerts, soirées jeux etc. Parmi les activités nous organisons des ateliers d’échanges culturels autour de la cuisine, du bricolage, de la couture, du tricot, entre autres… toutes idée nouvelle d’atelier est la bienvenue ! L’association a pour vocation un engagement eco citoyen et responsable. Nous habitons un village de 700 habitants à 2h de Bordeaux en voiture et 1h en train. Les habitants sont français mais aussi britanniques et turcs.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  All the activities of the associative place will allow the workawayers to build links with the inhabitants of the village. We will be able to bring through our exchanges a better knowledge of the French language and culture. We also hope to learn from the workawayers, their culture and their skills.
  Toutes les activités du lieu associatif permettront aux workaway de tisser des liens avec les habitants du village. Nous pourrons apporter par nos échanges une meilleure connaissance de la langue et de la culture française. Nous espérons apprendre aussi des workaway, leur culture et leurs compétences.

  Help

  We need people who enjoy interacting with people. They will help to lead cultural and linguistic exchange workshops, or organize workshops according to their skills. Above all, the association wishes to welcome people from different cultures to exchange with our community.
  Nous avons besoin de personnes qui aiment le contact avec les gens. Elles aideront à animer des ateliers d’échanges culturels et linguistiques, ou organiser des ateliers en fonction de leurs compétences. L’association souhaite avant tout accueillir des personnes de culture différente pour échanger avec notre communauté.

  Accommodation

  Accommodation is with the locals. In a detached house with a garden. Two single rooms each with a double bed. One bathroom for both rooms. The living room and kitchen are shared with the hosts. Meals will be offered at the locals' home or at the association's canteen. We can cook for any diet.
  L’hébergement est chez l’habitant. Dans une maison individuelle avec un jardin. Deux chambres individuelles avec chacune un lit double. Une salle de bain pour les deux chambres. Le séjour et la cuisine sont partagés avec les hôtes. Les repas seront proposés chez l’habitant ou à la cantine de l’association. Nous pouvons cuisiner tout régime.

  Possibility of visits. Limoges at 1 hour. Angoulême at 1/2 hour. Transport by bus. Oradour/Glane, a place of remembrance of the Second World War, at 1/2 hour by car. TGV line to Angoulême, Bordeaux (1/2 hour) -Paris (2h30). Dordogne and Sarlat at 2 hours by car. Many hiking trails, cycling and nature activities nearby. The hosts are ready to guide the workawayers and show them tourist sites. They can be autonomous and independent if they wish.
  
  Possibilité de visites. Limoges à 1h. Angoulême à 1/2h. Transport en bus. Oradour/Glane lieu de mémoire de la seconde guerre mondiale à 1/2h en voiture. Ligne TGV à Angoulême, Bordeaux (1/2h) -Paris (2h30). Dordogne et Sarlat à 2h en voiture. Beaucoup de sentiers de randonnée, vélo et activités nature proches.
  Les hôtes sont prêts à guider les workaway et leur faire découvrir des sites touristiques. Ils pourront être autonomes et indépendants s’ils le souhaitent.
