    UPDATE APRIL 15th 2025
We're sporadically looking for a cat sitter/house sitter . This WorkAway experience is best suited to a couple or two friends, or to an artist or writer or digital nomad who thrives in a countryside setting.

***Own car is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. *** (except if you love isolation. We have a good bike you can use. But know that our house is a 10-minute car drive to the nearest shop/town.)
Previous Workaway experience with feedback/reviews is a must, or other reviews on other sites/minimum a public online presence/profile.

Please reply with CAT SITTING in the subject & let me know you have a car, and let me know what dates you are interested in.

    *****
    ongoing
We would love a WorkAwayer or two for a 3-7 day stay depending on how we vibe etc. We would welcome a digital nomad.

    *******
We eat predominantly animal products/ carnivore/ketovore. Everyone is welcome, no matter your eating habits, but I only cook using predominantly animal products.
We ask you to cook for yourself mostly.

DSCRIPTION OF US AND OUR HOME
We are a musical and artistic family in County Galway in a beautiful countryside setting. Only 50 minutes by train south of Galway city near the BURREN.

What you get from this experience is just as important to us as what we get from it. We'd prefer non-smokers. (Or you can smoke in the garden). Please read my profile CAREFULLY before writing to us! Thanks! :-) Please write “Gaeilge agus Fáilte” at the top of your message so I know you’ve read the whole profile.

We speak Irish and play music. We can teach you about these. We'll show you around. We love independent people who take decisions and are open to reciprocal sharing of constructive criticism. I *love* how our May 2023 WorkAwayer, Lynn, did things.
Like myself, she finds things to create solutions for.
❤️❤️❤️😍❤️ Lynn was a veritable guardian angel to us.

    COMMUNICATION:
I like to "call a spade a spade".
No beating about the bush or sweeping things under carpets in this household! :-)
We talk about “the difficult things”, as my favourite song says:
“Greenhill, by New Zealander “Naomi Keyte”. 🎶🎶🎶😍🎶
We like people who use their ears as much as or more than their mouths. (There's a reason why we were created with two ears and one mouth!). We like people who are good listeners (but not if you only like to listen to yourself talking about yourself), and who give space to everyone.
As I said somewhere else in this profile, BS and big egos will be shown the door.

  • Help

    Help

I have a few projects where I could use someone's help for 2-5 days or longer if we all vibe together well.
It looks like a lot of people want to come to Galway, ❤️❤️ so please tell me why YOU are the one to help me get the job done - ie any of these:

garden weeding/clean up/caring for herbs and plants/freeing up an overgrown pergola which is a beautiful space for mediation/making apple pies/jam.
    cat sitting/house sitting.

    ——————
    Social Media/for Digital Nomads:

I have a live music/radio project where I could use help with making a live stream.
So if you have those and like to practice them, I think we could have some fun.

We are a lot of fun and like to go walking/swimming in the lake or sea around south County Galway and County Clare.

You will have a small double room or a beautiful tiny rustic garden cabin* with heating/a writing desk/fridge/kettle/bunkbeds, and of course use of our WC with shower and you will be invited to share the house as one of the family. (The latter is a dream space for a writer, especially in Spring, Summer and Autumn!!!)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The only criteria is that you are reliable, serious about your tasks and this two-way exchange, and serious about having fun at the same time. Without ego BS.

From experience I’ll say that I can smell bullshit from a distance. If there’s any BS in how you treat us, our beautiful home or our other guestws, you’ll be asked to leave at short notice.

We often host guests from around the world and have references on other platforms from over 100 people who have stayed with us (both short-term and long term) and loved it. We love sharing our music & culture, and you will have a wonderful time here in Galway with us. We love going for a dip in the ocean or a walk or hike in the countryside.

Please close your first message to me with “Fág an bealach bíp bíp bíp/BS will not be entertained”
to show me that you’ve read my whole profile.
