    Description

We're crafting an oasis where the harmony of nature meets the enrichment of human creativity, nestled in the heart of Portugal's serene Serra de Estrela foothills. Our journey is just beginning, with the ambitious vision of transforming a time-worn country house into a beacon of learning and leisure, and cultivating our sprawling lands into thriving gardens and a vibrant farm.

We're on the lookout for spirited workawayers to join us in laying the foundations of our dream—whether it's breathing life into the soil through sustainable horticulture practices, aiding in the construction of a welcoming campsite, or restoring the rustic charm of our country house.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our workawayers are at the heart of a cultural mosaic, engaging in an exchange that extends far beyond the bounds of traditional learning. Immersed in the vibrant community of central Portugal, they'll have the unique opportunity to delve into the sustainable practices that guide our farm and horticulture projects, understand the principles of eco-conscious construction using locally sourced wood, and contribute to the revival of our country house.

This journey offers a hands-on education in environmental stewardship, a deeper appreciation for the slow-food movement through our organically grown produce.

More than skills, workawayers will forge connections with like-minded individuals from around the globe, enveloped by the rich tapestry of Portuguese culture, language, and the unspoken stories of the land. Through this exchange, they'll gain insights into a lifestyle that prioritizes harmony with nature, community collaboration, and the joy of creating something enduring and beautiful together.

Join our family and dive into a groundbreaking project amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of central Portugal. We're on the lookout for passionate workawayers ready to lend their energy and skills across various exciting ventures, from cultivating our organic gardens and fostering a sustainable farm, to aiding in the careful restoration of our historic country house and building eco-friendly accommodations.

This unique chance offers practical experience in sustainable living, traditional construction methods, and organic agriculture, alongside the opportunity to forge enduring friendships and immerse yourself in Portugal's rich culture and stunning vistas.

Whether you possess a knack for gardening, a flair for DIY projects, or simply desire to contribute positively while embarking on new adventures, your efforts will lay the groundwork for a more sustainable, interconnected world.

As a paying host, our partnership with you carries mutual benefits and responsibilities. For us, this means compensating you with the Portuguese hourly minimum wage and providing social security contributions. Additionally, we'll ensure you're covered with legal insurance against workplace accidents. A formal contract will grant you the same rights as any worker in Portugal, including healthcare and unemployment benefits should you choose to remain in the country.

For you, this arrangement includes a few stipulations: it's essential to agree upfront on the duration of your stay, with a preference for longer commitments. You'll need a fiscal number (NIF) and a Social Security number (NISS), both of which we can assist in obtaining easily if you haven't already. Moreover, ensuring your eligibility to work in the EU—whether as an EU or Ukrainian citizen or through a legal Work Visa—is crucial.

Embrace this opportunity to contribute to a transformative project while securing your rights as a worker in Portugal, all within the supportive environment of our project. Let's make a lasting impact together, fostering a greener, more connected world.

Workawayers are accommodated in the cozy Staff House, offering individual rooms with options available for couples, ensuring privacy and comfort for all.

The house features a fully equipped kitchen along with communal dining and lounge areas, designed to nurture a communal spirit among residents. While we operate as a paying host and won't be providing regular supplies of food, workawayers are welcome to pick fruit and harvest vegetables from our organic gardens, contingent on availability and seasonal growth.

We encourage helpers to bring their culinary creativity to the table by participating in meal preparation on a rotational basis. This approach not only makes cooking a shared responsibility but also turns it into a chance for creativity and teamwork, utilizing the fresh produce directly from our gardens whenever possible.
