  We are a mindful, inclusive, health conscious, middle aged, professional couple and we live with a very affectionate dog and cat. We enjoy nature, games nights, cooking, music, travel and connecting with like minded people.
  
  Nestled in nature on a hilltop property with lovely views, our large, bright, modern home is private and peaceful yet is minutes away from many amenities including beaches, parks, dining and shopping.
  
  We are located in Departure Bay in central Vancouver Island which is an ideal location for exploring many popular nearby destinations.

  We are well educated, well travelled, long time west coast locals who love making connections around the world and learning about other people and their cultures. Our backgrounds include psychology, geography, health and sciences. We are both self employed and strive for a work life balance.
  
  We are respectful and curious about plants, animals and our natural world. We love to create, whether it be food or art or ideas. We are passionate about play and having fun but also enjoy serious discourse and learning. We enjoy a low stress, clean living home environment conducive to growth and healing. We are currently learning Italian and our favourite saying is dolce far niente (the sweetness of doing nothing).

  Seeking a mature, emotionally intelligent person to help in any/all of the following areas: Organizing, light cleaning/household chores, meal prep, gardening, pet care, running errands, office work/admin, basic tech help and small home maintenance & repair projects.
  
  It’s very important that applicants be mindful and safe around COVID exposure as one of us is immunocompromised. And It would be an asset if individuals had experience and/or understanding around energy limiting chronic illnesses.

  Accommodation

  Accommodation is your own private room and bathroom in the lower level with access to the main living and kitchen area as well as multiple patios and decks. The guest area is clean, modern and nicely decorated. Cool in the summer, warm in the winter.
  
  The main living space is a light filled open concept design with high ceilings and large windows. Perfect for watching the ever changing outdoor landscape.

  What else ...

  We are surrounded by beaches, trails and nature to explore. Biking, hiking, watersports and ecology adventures are common here. Nanaimo is a bland of urban, suburban and rural areas with all the typical amenities, surrounded by many little islands and hamlets within a short distance, ideal for day trips. We enjoy visiting and supporting small neighboring towns on weekends, especially all the local farm stands and outdoor markets. Vancouver, on the mainland, is a 2 hour ferry ride away. Victoria is a 90 min drive and Tofino is a 3 drive. The ferry terminal, taxis and buses are all close by.
