    Description

Hi Workawayers, I am Daniphord, a Tanzanian social worker and founder of Twiga Vision Tanzania, a small grassroots NGO based in Arusha.

Our organization works mainly on two missions:
→ Supporting children’s access to education
→ Promoting the empowerment of women through community-based projects

I created Twiga Vision to support vulnerable women and children in my community — especially single mothers, widows and children from underserved backgrounds. Through educational support, training, awareness workshops and empowerment programs, we aim to create lasting and meaningful change.

We are a small but passionate team, and we welcome Workawayers who want to contribute meaningfully — whether by sharing professional skills, helping with ongoing activities or simply exchanging ideas and energy with us.

You will not be just a visitor. You’ll be part of a local team, working side by side with us and the community.

We’re flexible depending on your profile, interests and availability. You’ll always be supported and guided by our team throughout your experience.

If you’re looking for a genuine, respectful and impactful volunteering opportunity — we’d love to hear from you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us means you’ll be immersed in Tanzanian daily life — not just as a visitor, but as a true part of the community.

You’ll be hosted by a warm and welcoming local couple who love sharing their culture through home-cooked meals, stories, and traditions. The entire Twiga Vision team is made up of locals, so you’ll experience real collaboration and cultural exchange every day — both at home and at work.

Our project is based in the Kiranyi and Sakina areas of Arusha, surrounded by vibrant village life. You’ll have the chance to eat authentic street food (yes, probably the best chipsi mayai in the country!), discover hidden local bars, and connect with people in places rarely visited by tourists.

Moreover, our volunteers often exchange language basics with the women and the team (French, Spanish, German...), learn how to cook Tanzanian meals, share music and participate in local events.

If you're open, curious and respectful, this experience will offer you so much more than just volunteering — it's about sharing daily life, building connections and growing together.

    • Communication and fundraising: supporting social media, writing content, documenting activities, helping prepare grant proposals or campaigns.
    • Project support: helping organize events, plan activities or assist the team with coordination tasks.

We’re flexible and will adapt your tasks to what you’re comfortable with. You’ll always work in collaboration with our local team — you won’t be left on your own.

Whether you bring professional skills or just motivation and open-mindedness, your help is appreciated!
