 - Description- Hello, Two Humans (Alex and Daisy, a married couple), Two Cats (Hux 'n' George) and a dog who adores everyone (Fava) are trying to get veg growing again, continuing in a sustainable way to improve on previous attempts
There is an expanse of vineyards behind the house and walking in the opposite direction can take you through forest trails to reach the local reservoir/lake (ideal for swimming). (This can also be accessed more rapidly using modern transport techniques)

 - Cultural exchange and learning opportunities- Both of us love meeting new people, learning about different cultures, attitudes and customs. Food is one of the ways we share, food can embody culture and the meal is ideal for getting to know one another. Having both lived abroad, we're used to the richness other cultures can offer.
We are artists, craftspeople and working on the growing veg better. Daisy is an established ceramacist and Alex is a musician, teacher, woodworker and general problem solver. All we learn from your stay with us will be embodied in the art we produce.
We can allocate some time for you to learn some ceramics if that interests you.
We can teach you about the local flora and fauna - for instance a wild form of lavender grows here and smells delicious.
We can lend you a bike to get around and, when convenient, (usually) offer lifts into Tomar which has connections to the rest of Portugal.
There are walks in every direction from the house and cafes and restaurants nearby (there is a Bar/Restaurant 30seconds away) opposite the house and studio is a winery
We hope to share our knowledge and learn novel techniques for veg growing and look forward to working with you.
 - Help- Mostly it is garden tasks, helping to move piles of cuttings etc.
With many tasks Alex or Daisy will be able to do it alongside you and teach you new skills.
We need help, digging, planting, reorganising our veg garden and getting ready for the summer ahead.
It's going to be tasks like, clear the weeds in this strip of land and put them in the compost. Expect requests to loosen soil, cut branches and plant seedlings.
If you're an expert veg grower, we are happy to share tips and learn from you.
If you're a beginner, you can learn by doing
If you're planning to run your own veg patch/allotment/productive living space, this will give you a taste of the realities of it.
