Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
As I am not a local, I can't offer you a Portuguese, cultural exchange by my self. Still need to build up my Portuguese, in return I can exchange with English. We can take time to visit the older town here in the Algarve and special spots.
Help
I moved in August 2021 in a house which was empty for some years. So I need help with renovation task, and mostly create a big garden.
Things to be done:
- plastering
- painting
- planting trees
- create a garden and terraces (=digging)
- help in the ready part garden
- cleaning (floors, windows, dishes, laundry... it's a big house)
- building a chicken/pig stable
- making a kitchen garden
- buis irrigationsystem
I recommend to bring your own working gloves and good workingshoes are also a good idea.

Sleeping:
- there is one studio with a kitchen. Please keep it clean by your self and make your bed every morning.
Bathroom:
- at this moment there is one shared bathroom in the main house
Kitchen:
- there are two ready to use kitchens, one in the studio and one in main house.
- Usually I cook twice a day for lunch an dinner (from Monday to Friday).
- please keep the kitchens clean, I don't want to feel like your mother ;)
- on the weekends you have to organize your food by your self (it's not included)
In generall, I do not offer coffee, milk, lot's of fruits, liquor, crisps, chocolate, ice cream or similar things, but you can buy/bring this yourself if we go to the supermarket.
- If you smoke, please only outside but not in dry area to prevent fires, no smoking inside, also not "at a open windows" in your private room and always collect your cigarette butts!What else ...
I am open to any kind of personality, as long you are really motivated to get things done and have some life-experience (in best case 25+).
For long term volunteers special arrangements can be made.
In your off-time you can do:
* If you are mobile by your own, you can do for sure more things
- hang up at the beach (40min drive)
- explore the town or make a day trip
- explore the surroundings / go hiking
- do yoga, meditate, read, relax in a hammock
- go swimming in my pool
- do board or card games
- ...
The closest village is Messines ~ 15 min drive, where you can find everything you need. But the closest bar is just ~1h to walk.
