    Description

My partner and I have been living in Dublin 12 since 2023, along with our rescue foxhound, Prince, who we adopted a year ago. We live in a 100-year-old house with a fascinating history, and we’re working on restoring its old charm.

We’re looking for friendly and easygoing people to stay with us and help out with various projects around the house and garden.

My partner is vegetarian, so most of our meals are vegetarian, though I do eat meat from time to time.

Our home is within walking distance of Dublin city centre, with plenty of bus routes nearby, and we also have a spare bicycle available if you'd like to use it. While you're here, we highly recommend checking out some of Dublin’s best spots, including Trinity College, Temple Bar, the Guinness Storehouse, the Botanical Gardens, St. Stephen’s Green, IMMA, and Phoenix Park.

We’d love to welcome you and share a great cultural exchange!

Due to family and friends visiting from time to time, and renovation works on the house, we are currently only able to offer stays of between 1-2 weeks.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As a qualified English teacher, I love helping others improve their language skills—not just through lessons, but through real conversations and cultural exchange. Whether you’re looking to practice English or just share stories, I’d be happy to help!

Staying with us is a great way to experience life in Dublin, Ireland’s vibrant capital. You’ll get a taste of local culture, from historic landmarks and lively music sessions to the hidden gems that make the city special. We love exploring both the city and the countryside—whether it’s cycling, swimming, or taking long walks with our dog, we’re always up for an adventure!

More than anything, we enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds, learning about your culture, language, and way of life. Sharing meals, exchanging stories, and having plenty of laughs along the way is what makes hosting such a rewarding experience.

We’d love to welcome you into our home and share this cultural journey together!

    Help

We are looking for a friendly and practical helper to lend a hand with various small projects around the house and garden, we could use some help with clearing weeds, building raised beds, and planting.

In addition to these projects, we’d appreciate some light support with general housework and keeping the place tidy. If you get along well with our dog, you’re welcome to take him out for walks—just keep in mind that he’s quite strong on the lead and has a keen interest in chasing every cat or fox he spots!

If you enjoy hands-on tasks, love the outdoors, and don’t mind a bit of dog-related mischief, we’d love to welcome you into our home!

We have a comfortable double room available with wardrobe space, overlooking the front garden. The house itself is spacious, has a strong internet connection, and is full of character. There’s also a lovely back garden, perfect for relaxing when the weather is nice.

As we are in the process of renovating, some parts of the house are still a work in progress—so we’re looking for easygoing guests who don’t mind a bit of unfinished charm!

For meals, you’re welcome to help yourself to breakfast in the morning, and we have a great coffee machine and grinder for coffee lovers. We typically have lunch around 13:00 (give or take), and dinner is a bit later than the Irish norm, usually between 19:30 and 20:30.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We’re well connected to the city, with plenty of bus routes nearby. The city centre and Heuston train station—your gateway to exploring other parts of Ireland—are both within easy reach.

We also share our home with Prince, our rescued foxhound. He’s a medium-to-large dog with a big personality, and he sometimes likes to let his voice be heard! Workawayers should be comfortable around dogs who can be a bit vocal at times.
