*We are currently looking for people with remodeling knowledge and DIY experience.(Currently we are only looking for someone who can stay for a month from about August 20 to late September.) When contacting us, please be sure to provide us with information that shows your remodeling or DIY experience.
Professional carpenters, architects, and interior designers are also welcome.
✳︎What I am about to write are matters for working in a good atmosphere as a team.✳︎
We only accept those who are physically fit and have a positive attitude and genuine interest in DIY work, traditional Japanese architecture, and cultural exchange. We also welcome people who wish to experience Japan’s thoughtful and careful way of living, and who are willing to learn about Japanese daily customs and communicate with respect.
(This is not a free place to stay. If you come with a self-centered attitude and are not open to our way of life, we kindly ask that you do not apply.)
If you are not cooperative in various aspects of daily life and work, we may ask you to leave even during the agreed stay period. Thank you for your understanding.
However, if you are curious to learn about architecture or want to enjoy your time here outside of work as well, we are happy to support you as much as we can!

We live in an old house in Miyota-machi, Nagano.
There is great nature nearby and Mt. Asama is very beautiful.
We are renovating an old house and experiencing a traditional lifestyle.

Miyota-machi is a neighboring town of Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture.
It is a 3 hour train ride or 2.5 hour drive from Tokyo.
    (日本人の方で旅をしながら、都会から離れての生活を体験してみたい方も大歓迎です!)
(Japanese people who want to travel and experience life away from the city are also welcome!)

We are a family of two.
As individual farmers, we grow our own food and help raise goats(other owners goats). We also renovate old houses with traditional materials.

We would like to give priority to accepting people who want to learn Japanese culture and language,
( One of the family members is a professional Japanese teacher and is therefore always available to speak and teach you Japanese.)
and who value the Japanese spirit. So, if you are interested, please contact us.
By living with us, you can experience Japanese culture and lifestyle.

✳︎We are currently receiving messages from a large number of people, so to avoid unfairness, we will give priority to those who reply quickly. thank you for understanding.✳︎

*Repairing of water (baths, washrooms, etc.)

As for living conditions, you will live in a town called Miyota, near Karuizawa. You will help out on a small goat farm (another owner keeps goats), grow your own food crops in the garden and fields, and occasionally mow the fields, so you may be asked to help on some days. But think of this main job as a project to repair an old Japanese house.

We work online from home during the week, so we are looking for someone who can do what they are told to do themselves.

We may ask you to prepare lunch. We may also ask you to help at other meal times and clean the bathroom and other areas where we live together.
