    Description

Married couple in our 50's . We both love a simple country life. Liz is a textile artist who works mainly with wool and Graham is a farmer and plumber. We moved to our village full time 4 years ago and have been slowly renovating this delightful Victorian railway station. We have lots of visitors to the studio in the summer and Liz runs workshops from the studio in the station. We are non smokers and rarely drink alcohol. We look after the station planting throughout the year. We have a polytunnel to extend our growing season

if you fly into Glasgow or Edinburgh in is worth while spending some time in the 3 cities and Glasgow or Edinburgh and Sterling

When you stay with us in our lovely B&B, your living is only 3 steps away from a working railway station with a service every two hours. We are just 2 ½ hours away by train from Glasgow. A great travel to enjoy the surroundings with a cup of tea in your hand!
Of course it is easy to travel by train from this place! But if you travel by car or by bus (bus 50 steps just around the corner) there is also a lot to explore. Just to give you some sightseeing inspiration:

    • Beautiful Glencoe is an half hour from Dalmally by car, but also accessible by bus (in about 1.45 hour). Drive 30 min further and you will reach Fort William. From Dalmally to Fort William is 2 hours by public transport.
    • Loch Katrine is three quarters driving away (is it really? Google maps tells me it is 1.30 min)
    • Kilmartin museum is just one hour away (you can view the famous standing stones in a very special surrounding), here is the place of history
    • Oban is 25 miles away, it is three quarters by train, you have incredible views on your way
Oban is the road to the islands, so it is a great way to expand your journey. But it is also a very nice village/town to walk around, visit the 3 (?) castles and enjoy the sea views.
    • Castle Stocker over one hour drive away Appin , a tidal dependent accessible castle.
    • The famous Glenfinnan Viaduct for a world famous view on the 'Harry Potter train' and to visit the Glenfinnan Monument is about two hours away.
    • Loch Lomond in the beautiful Trossachs National Park 50 minutes away by car.
    • If you feel like doing a boat trip: Loch Etive is about half an hour drive by car, and about the same by train.
    • The famous Inverary Castle is about 17 miles away, so about 30 minutes by car or 30 min by bus

As you can see it is almost impossible to get bored when you stay in Dalmally, you might even decide to stay longer than you planned! Our cosy station is surrounded by 5 Munroe's ( Scottish mountains) and some wonderful hills and woods to walk in. If you feel like hiking you can go easily reach:
    *️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Kilchurn castle 1 mile
*️️️️️️️️️️️️️ St conans Kirk 3 miles
*️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Lochewe 1.5 miles. This is the second longest loch in Scotland and it has the most islands in a loch in the whole country.
    - West Highland way 11 miles 10min by train
