Description
Join me at my off-grid organic farm in San Miguel de Cañaza, Costa Rica. The Osa Peninsula, known for its biodiversity and vast tropical rainforest, is extremely rural. Sights and sounds will amaze you! My project revolves around permaculture concepts and sustainability.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Life in San Miguel is an eye opening experience, for it is here that you will discover a culture at the cusp of civilization and raw nature. Emersed within this off-grid community, it is easy to realize that technology is not dictated by time, but, rather by location. Learning to appreciate the necessities of life is well practiced here.

Spanish in Costa Rica is quite unique, but I'm getting the hang of it.Accommodation
Enjoy 8 acres of mountainous terrain and farm fresh produce with an original Tico farmhouse and a detached, open air cabin as your hub. Although rustic to the core, the farmhouse is equipped with simplistic solar panel electricity to accommodate some, but not all, modern technology. The kitchen has a refrigerator that can also be used as a freezer, but never both at the same time. Generally, I use it as a fridge. There is a countertop stove attached to a propane tank, as well as a place to cook with natural fire. The washer/dryer and bathroom would be shared. There is no hot water on tap and no WiFi. Cell phone service, however, is available.
What else ...
The Osa Peninsula is recognized as one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. Enjoy an abundance of wildlife within the tropical rainforest and warm waters of the Golfo Dulce. Corcovado National Park is very close.
