Description
My husband Adam and I (Shuang) are two international scholars originally from the U.S. and China, and currently teaching in Danish universities. After earning PhDs in social anthropology and history at Harvard University, we moved to Denmark to start a different rural life. We have a 2 year old son and 6 chickens. We do research on democratic sustainability in collaboration of Samsø energy academy, formulating a vision that integrates environmental, social, and cultural sustainability. We have lived in Boston, L.A, Shanghai, NYC, Budapest, etc. We enjoy connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds through food and conversations.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We have lived and conducted in-depth research in East Asia (China and Japan), we are happy to share everything we know, including food, travel tips, etc.
We have PhDs in history and social anthropology, and we currently teach entrepreneurship and technology, we can share some knowledge if you are interested in these subjects.
We have now lived in Denmark for four years, so we can provide some perspectives on Danish rural life, how to find jobs in Denmark, etc.

Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
We need help with taking care of our two-year old boy (playing, making snacks, etc.). The total childcare work will be no more than 10 hours a week; you will have no overnight duty. We also need help taking care of and transforming our garden (it is around one acre so there is a lot of potential). We are currently building a sauna room, we could also use some help there.
