Description
In the Auvergne (Allier, heart of France) in the middle of the French countryside you'll find our rustic farmhouse Brénazet (1850) near the village Vernusse. Situated on a small hill it offers a beautiful view over fields and forests. We are at the end of a small road, so no trafic. The Allier is a beautiful area to discover. You'll be part of our family and share all the meals with us.
We are a Dutch family: Ron (1960), Mariken (1962), Zeljko (1966), Nikola (1995), Lily (1996) and Igor (1998) and Soham (2022), Nikola and Lily's daughter. We have two dogs: Elza and Nanook and 7 pony's (Welsh), 6 cats and chickens.Types of help and learning opportunities

You 'll be part of our family and have all the meals with us. Mariken is a good cook and she cooks vegetarian or vegan and occasionally some meat. We appreciate also to try your cooking! You can join for mediation in the morning. Mariken and Nikola are teaching yoga in the summer season. We usually have a muesli with homemade yoghurt and fruits for breakfast and start working. There are bikes for you and wifi is available. On Sundays you are always off and we sometimes go out, this is an occasion for you to see the surroundings. If you come in the summer we'll always try that you can go once on a canoe trip with Ron. If you would like to give us a helping hand and stay in a beautiful place in the middle of France, a small paradise where you'll find hospitality, health care, natural food, yoga and all sorts of exercise in the open air : you are very welcome!

Help
In EARLY SPRING, March and April, Ron can use some help with construction and repairing work. In March we will tidy up our farm, make everything ready and clean and we will start the garden again, There is a large vegetable garden withany possibilities, and a 4 x 4m greenhouse. In April we'll plant patatoes and lots of vegetables. If you are experienced with horses, you can help training, grooming and cleaning and riding. You'll stay in a house if it's available or in a small wooden cabin or in a vintage caravan.
In SPRING (April/May June) we would like helping hands for construction and maintenance, gardening, cleaning, doing laundry, lots of weading, working with the poneys. Picking up poo in the field of the ponys, cleaning the hen house, repairing fences, painting jobs, helping with cooking and baking, mowing the gras. Always lots to do in the country side! You'll stay in a small wooden cabin or in the caravan.
In SUMMER (July, August) This is a very busy period for us and we can use some help with cooking and keeping our kitchen clean, watering the garden, weading and harvesting. We need help with the animals, picking horse poo, clean the hen house. In summer you'll stay in a small wooden cabin or vintage caravan.
SUMMER/AUTOMN (September, October) Harvesting! Harvesting patatoes, peaches, black berries making jam and helping to prepare for winter, cleaning, general maintenance, animal care, picking poo, gardening and enjoying the last bits of a beautiful French summer! You'll stay in a small wooden cabin on the edge of the campsite or in the caravan.
Because of the need to learn the routine we ask volunteers to stay with us for at least two weeks.
While working in our place according to availability and season we can provide a wage.Languages
