    Description

We are a British family in Mijas Costa, Malaga my parents moved to Spain over 30 years ago - we live in a nice villa, in a safe urbanisation, 10 minutes (by car) outside of the nearest town. We love to go on walks and also just hanging out at our house, especially when it gets hot and we can chill out around the pool.

We have 2 dogs and 1 cat who are very friendly and a studio apartment attached to our house where you would stay.

Having a car would be ideal to get around but its not necessary, on the weekend there is plenty for you to do; there are beautiful lakes within a few short hours drive or train journey, mountains to hike and climb very close to us, kilometres of beautiful beaches close by and some lovely ones (Tarifa, Cadiz) within a few hours drive and bus ride.

We live 35 km away from the historic Malaga city and 30 km away from Marbella. Fuengirola is our closest town, 4 km away and it’s a big town with plenty to do! We have a shopping centre 3 km away with a cinema, food court and clothing shops.

We have a castle at the end of our road, right where the Rio Fuengirola meets the Mediterranean.

Our villa is in the hills, although in an urbanisation with other houses, so within 5 minutes of our house, you would be walking on a track into the countryside. So we have the best of both worlds; close enough to the town and beach, although far enough away to be surrounded by nature. Our urbanisation has a restaurant, a tiny supermarket and a bar within 5 minutes walk from our house.

When we have workawayers, two travelling together works .We get along really well with guests in our home. We are pretty used to having travelling workaways from all corners of the world staying. You will be in your own apartment and will be able to chill alone. However we are happy to eat together, and chat about your life and ambitions. It’s my mum and dad who will be at home mostly as my sister and I moved away to college, then university, and now we work in another country to our home of Spain. We do come home often. My parents work, they have their own business so they are pretty busy much of the time. Our two dogs and cat have a lot of energy and gives the house a lot of personality.

Our two dogs would need to be walked twice a day. They love the tracks and hills around our home. We have a lovely garden which sometimes may need watering, (we have over 200 pot plants 🫣) and different fruit trees. And the terraces around the house could always do with a sweep. We have some general household jobs for you too. And if you ever fancy to help make an evening meal we are always excited to find out your favourite dishes. I am a pescatarian, my sister is a vegan, my father is a carnivore (🫣😳🤣) . And my mums happy with a good healthy meal.

My dad loves watching football. My mum cycles and swims and loves hiking. The both travel often.

We have all travelled a lot and like hearing the stories of our guests on where they have been, and their future plans. If you feel you could fit in, please send us a message we will be happy to have a chat with you.

We are looking for people who are able to help us clean the terraces of our villa, cleaning around the house, general house chores and some maintenance like a bit of painting, definitely dog walking. You must be an animal lover. One of our dogs will pull a lot if you aren’t careful!

We have a spacious studio apartment attached to our villa with a double bed, bathroom, kitchen and outdoor area. You can have the freedom of cooking for yourself when you want.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We have the Mediterranean a short 10 minute drive from our house, popular hiking trails in the mountains just 15 minutes drive away, our local town is a 5 minute drive also (we live in a urbanisation near the campo). You can go for walks in the hills next to our villa. We have El Chorro (we just call it The Lakes) an 1 and a half hour drive away, or 2 and a half on the train. And Malaga City is 45 minutes on the train. We have a lot more attractions close by or further away but you will just have to see when you get here!

We are a no smoking household. And we expect no smoking around our home and gardens.
