    Description

We are a married couple 'living our dream' on a lifestyle farm in a picturesque setting in the locality of Queenwood in Donnybrook, Western Australia. Sitting amongst natural bushland and open paddocks where our sheep are grazing. The only sounds you will hear come from farm animals, wild birds and the occasional snoring of visitors.

Formerly resource industry publishers in Perth and have now swapped corporate suits and high heels to run a 110 acre property with around 120-head of sheep, some goats, two horses, four alpacas, chickens and a peacock.

Brian loves the outdoors, tending to vegetables and fruit gardens, and the many on-going projects around the farm. Adriana loves to eat – so cooking up a storm is a norm.

We are beekeepers, producing raw and unprocessed honey, which we sell at various food outlets in Perth and the Southwest.

We also run a mobile, gourmet food business, from a converted horse float. We cook and sell a delicious range of home-grown lamb produce which includes authentic Singapore-style Lamb Satay and preservative-free Lamb Burgers. We sell our produce at Farmers' Markets, Agricultural shows and events across Western Australia.

Attending markets and shows enables us to meet like-minded people and have a good old chin-wag and laugh, something we really enjoy!

We choose a healthy lifestyle which include not smoking or drinking alcohol. While guests are welcome to drink in moderation, we are strictly a non-smoking household and farm – so only non-smokers, please. In addition, no non-prescription drugs or substance usage while staying with us.

We go to Perth once a month for a couple of nights and you are welcome to come along and help us at our city property and joining in our lifestyle.

We are looking for someone who are fit, enthusiastic and who will enjoy working on the farm with us.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange is an experience in itself. It is all about the different people you meet and the places you go in your lives. We welcome guests who want to make that change.

We are both English speakers. Brian, a Pommy and Adriana from Singapore. Adriana also speaks Malay and little bit of Bahasa Indonesia.

As beekeepers, we like to introduce our guests to our buzzing babies at work. Protective gears will be provided. This is a first hand learning experience!

    What else ...

There are plenty of bushwalks around the farm and exercise machines and weights are also available for those who want their use. If the weather is not favourable for outdoor activities, we have an indoor badminton court to keep you active and the heart pumping!

We have bicycles for use while you stay with us.

We love swimming in the ocean and occasionally go to Bunbury (30 minutes drive) for a dip in the Indian Ocean. And sometimes a goat or a lamb will come with us too.

There are lots places of interests in and around Donnybrook to explore. Also we are only between 30 minutes to 1.5 hours of travelling time (driving) to places such as Margaret River, Dunsborough, Busselton, Bunbury, Balingup and Bridgetown.

A vehicle is preferable as we are 10 km from Donnybrook and public transport is only available from Donnybrook. We are happy to pick up and drop off guests in Donnybrook for those who do not have a vehicle.
