Beschreibung

Hi, my name is Tim. I am a 32 year old social worker from northern Germany.
Currently I'm planning to start a new journey in the upcoming march, where I'll try to backpack somehow get from Germany to the Pacifoc Ocean and back via land.
I like to travel and get in touch with different cultures. I enjoy linking my journeys with activities to get a deeper understanding of different cultures and there history, therefore I like to go visit museums (especially art and history).

Due to my profession I am always interested in visiting different NGOs to get an idea of their ways of working in different environments and social systems. I think the exchange of ideas and culture is a big benefit for me personal as well as professional. Due to stays of different lenghts in Athens, the Ukraine and East Africa I learned the ability to adopt quite quickly to new circumstances.

In Germany I worked for a long time in the field of inclusion, the assistance of mentaly disabled minors in regular school, gave lectures to young adults, that participated in a governmental volunteering program, worked in a Covid-19 vaccination center and coordinated mobile vaccination teams in the region of Hanover.

My free time I like to spend doing gardening in my attornal garden (learning by doing), doing barbecue with friends in the park, cook at home or simply enjoying nature.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I've got a bachelor degree in social work. In my bachelor thesis I focused on the sociological aspects of the development of livehood orientated social offers.
I financed my studies with giving seminars to young adults, who committed to volunteer for one year to assist disabled people. Main topics of these seminars were social and political aspects of inclusion and the personal development of the volunteers.
After I finished my studies I joined my current employer and gain experience working with disabled children and help them to get along in school. I am very grateful for the trust the Organisation gave me and that I got the opportunity to gain experience as the deputy leader of a department and in developing own projects.
As a volunteer I got experience in organizing and guiding youth camps with the focus on intercultural exchange and living with nature.
The last two years I worked first as a supervisor in a regional vaccination center with an capacity of up to 5000 vaccination per day and afterwards as a coordinator for mobile vaccination teams in the region of Hanover, Germany, where I learned a lot of the leading of employees and in terms of coordination.
