We are a family of 3, living in the far South West of Australia. We live on 100 acre property; 80 acres of native forest and bush, and 20 acres of pasture. We have cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and dogs and a very minimal veggie patch which we would love some help to expand, using organic permaculture methods.

This is a unique and beautiful part of the world, the forest is full of Yellow Tingle trees, which only grow in this very small region, Jarrah, Karri, Marri, Tea tree. In the spring and summer months we get a host of wild flowers and orchids and in the cooler months we get a wide range of fungi.

We moved here 3 years ago, and with only the 3 of have worked hard to try to follow regenerative practices and work towards self sustainability. We do not use any chemicals on the land or in our home. Out diet is predominantly gluten, dairy and sugar free, eating mostly locally sourced fruit and veggies and meat from our own land.

Jay works away on an equal time roster and Sandra has her own online Energy Healing and Menstruality/Menopause Coaching business working from home. Oscar is homeschooled so constantly learning through his environment. We have dreams of expanding this glorious place into a Worldschool hub, where travelling families can come and explore this magnificent place, get involved regenerative living, learn tradition arts and crafts from the many local artists and connect to the land and to a network of other living life outside the limitations of normal life.

**Our homestead is not a business, our aim to be be self sufficient and have enough to share with friends and visitors, some day, we are a long way off that just yet.**

As we are quite remote, you will need to have your own transport.

Ideally we would like people interested in helping us with gardening and animal care, and maybe some maintenance if there are projects under way at the time of your visit.

Summers here are fairly pleasant, last year was dry but generally there is a good mix of hot sunny days and some cooler wet ones. Winter is cold and wet, we have the highest rainfall in Australia I believe, which is amazing on such a dry continent, but also does with the added task of trying to capture it all before it washes all of the nutrient off the land, something we have yet to master!

We do run solely on rainwater, so sensible water use needs to be adopted in the hotter months to ensure there is enough to cater for animals, plants and people.

We are social people who also like our down time. We appreciate open communication and feel like the easiest way to ensure everyone enjoys the experience is to ask questions when unsure and speak up about things that are not working well before they become a problem. We don't know everything and therefore welcome suggestions to broaden our perspective. However there are certain things that are non negotiable when it comes to the welfare of our animals and our land.

We have wifi internet, which is limited due to our location, fine for most things but downloads not so much. We have no TV.

We would love to hear from you if you:
    - can communicate well and are interested in having conversations.
    - are genuinely interested in the country and farm life and enjoys living in that environment.
    - want to learn about sustainability and natural methods of living and taking care of animals.
    - keen to be involved in everything that happens here.
    - love life and are happy to try new experiences.
    - Willing to post feedback about your stay here.
    - Have your own vehicle.

    Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

We are originally from Ireland and the UK and so we can't teach you about being Australian. But we have learned more about the native flora and fauna since being on this property than we did in the other 8 yrs that we lived in Australia and we are happy to share that knowledge. Before moving here we spent a many years learning about permaculture, sustainability and regenerative farming, all practices we try to live by, we love sharing these practices with others and the impact that they can have.

We are a 20 minute drive from the nearest town which has a tavern, a bakery, a library, grocery store, op shop, petrol station and a couple of restaurants. And 50 mins to Denmark, which is a bigger town with more facilities. There is nearby access to the Munda Biddi Trail, numerous breathtaking beaches which are empty unless you visit during school holidays.
