What a wonderful experience to end our adventure in France! We spent three weeks with Peter and Carolyn at their château - a beautiful place, almost a little paradise. Peter and Carolyn are really generous, intelligent people, you can talk to them forever about art, literature and culture, and they have an incredible amount of funny, interesting stories to tell about their lives, which made the mealtimes very valuable to us. We did a lot of gardening, mainly light jobs like weeding, painting, cutting bushes etc., and were always very appreciated for our work. The garden is huge but beautiful, which made it even more enjoyable to work outside. Since the house is very large, we had a lot of privacy and loved our cozy apartment. For a few days, we were the homeowners alone, taking care of the very cute but cheeky cat Figaro while Peter and Carolyn were away. All in all a marvellous experience that we will not forget, we would love to come back one day (when the weather is a little better, hopefully ;)). Thank you so much for everything and best wishes!

It is great to have Jerry and his family traveling so much and looking forward to the opportunity to workawayer spend time with their children and share their experiences and skills with them. Thank you for this experience Jerry and his family, we did a lot of walking and sightseeing in Korea. The most memorable moment was going to the nursery where we played with the boys 😄

We had the most amazing time staying with Hamzah and teaching English at his English club. The students were all so kind and eager to learn (particularly the older group of students) and it felt so rewarding to be able to help them practice English with us. Hamzah was the most accomodating host - he went out of his way to collect us from the airport and take us to experience all the local food, markets and attractions, including the traditional houses and Harau Valley. We even met some of his friends and he welcomed us into his home where we could cook our own food and enjoy some of his wife's delicious cooking. Thank you Hamzah and good luck with the English club!

Dida was doing a workaway in my place for three month after doing a workaway on a completley different place. She immediately took in hand all the multiple tasks like horse feeding and cleaning, she looked after the chicken, she completely felt in love with Hugo, the dog and tolerated the very frustrating manners of my cat Grisgris. As she always wants to achieve all her work 100% perfect I was very lucky! With her way of seeing the obvious daily activities like cleaning the table after meals and doing dishes she gave an example for the other workers and in this way she made my life a lot easier. She discovered her amazement for gardening, she tamed the chicken and learned to respect the horses as social but also sometimes unpredictable animals. She got specially familiar with one of the clients horses and the owner thankfully took care of her also. Unfortunately I got suddenly very sick and so she kind of saved my life by organizing the farm duties for nearly four weeks. As she had to deal with other workawayers (which had by nature not always the same speed and high standards of working levels as she had…) her life was sometimes complicated. But she took it with a good sense of humour and managed to find a common base. As she loves to travel she now moves on, and I wish her a lot more of good and fulfilling experiences for the future! Sandra was a really great volunteer with our little boy. They connected super well, he loved her presence and way of relating, and he would ask me each evening if she was going to play again the next day. :) We appreciated that Sandra was flexible with her schedule - she was happy to do daytimes during school days off (Easter break), afternoons on the days Kai had school. She did school pickups, then they would picnic in the park, go exploring, play at kiddie parks and then walk home. She was also good about washing dishes or similar when Kai wanted to have periods of playing video games. She was even kind enough to install Minecraft on her phone so they could join in the same world together. But most of the time, they were playing active games together without any screens. Thank you, Sandra. Kai is asking when he will see you again. 😄

I spent two weeks with francesca and roger in their little paradise. The valley and place is gorgeous and feels so wild, yet theres trails to walk to the beach and city, a real contrast that i enjoyed! I shared a cosy little home with another workawayer which was fun. The river flows close by and you can hear it from bed :) it also has many pools to explore and bathe in. Im grateful for the time spent in this beautiful valley, for the conversations, all the meals, and help with paperwork. Thanks you very much francesca and roger :D

It was such a joy to host Victor. He is always positive with an excellent attitude. He worked hard abd efficiently at all his tasks. He is a caring, honest and interesting person who is passionate about the planet and wants to make a good contribution. I would be more than happy to host Victor again and wish him well with all his future endeavours.

I've stayed with Lomi around 2 weeks with another workawayer. At first I need to say, that the place, where Lomi lives is really a small nature paradise and on the one side of a amazing valley. So the place get the feedback 7 from 5 ;) It was all relatively spontaneous and at first I was together with other Workawayers on another place of the region, than we changed together to Lomis place. There is a huge potential to learn and experience the valley and all the knowledge of Lomi to plants, history and so much more is amazing. But on the other hand he is often very busy and has a lot of projects at the same time. The food is really nice and you can participate and learn a lot. The work changed quickly and follows the time periods for planting and caring about the garden. We've worked also on a sauna project, what was really interesting. While we were there we were between 3 and 10 people, normally we two workawayer, than Lomi, Ale and her son Victor, a 2,5 years old boy who knows to bring us to laugh. For the weekends or for a meal there were often some visitors and it was a amazing time together. With Lomi I had one or two times a very intense discussion and sometimes a bad feeling with that but in the end there is really the possibility to talk about anything! Yes, it was a great experience and I can recommend the place, it still a nature paradise! Workawayer, if you have any questions, write me ;)

Pete was absolutely amazing! We all loved having him stay with us and very sad to see him leave. He is a self motivated. Always cheerful and a very hard worker. While he was with us he made a "puppy palace" stalls, doors and sink to clean puppies up. ALL out of recycled materials. It was so needed. He took fencing down, and build a wonderful work bench area in a shed and organized the entire area. He is welcome back anytime. Hope you meet some amazing people on your journey. We spent five amazing days with Maria, Carsten and Björn. They cooked/prepared great (danish) food, they showed us really nice places and we played many board/card games together. Björn speaks English perfectly and Carsten and Maria speak both, English and German, fluent (and danish for sure). Thanks for the time with you, thanks for the time at Rømø and viel Spaß beim abschlappen. Tack!

Where to start with Julia and Igor! They have just left after 2 months with us and they were the perfect Workaways. It was a total pleasure to have them stay in our home and help us prepare our business for the season. Though they are still quite young they were very mature, diligent and helpful at all times. They were very committed to the work we gave them and always did it to an excellent standard. If they were ever unsure they would always ask for clarification and checked to make sure we were happy with what they had done. They were equally happy working inside or outside and were extremely helpful to us as there is always so much to do in the spring. Julia and Igor are also really lovely people, intelligent, kind and considerate and we enjoyed their company very much. They looked after our home while we were away at one point and we felt very happy leaving them to manage all things. They loved all our animals and took care of everything that we asked of them. It was a real bonus that they were vegetarian which we appreciated and we had lots of trips out together which was a great fun. We cannot recommend them highly enough. If you get a chance to work with them in the future, take the opportunity. We would love to see them again in the future, they are always welcome in our home Bob and Ian

Marina was a pleasure to host and our month went by very fast, along with a fellow Italian, both learned a lot of English (Marina's was already quite good!) and fitted in very well. Marina is well-organised and responsible, charming with all age-groups, likes animals, and appreciates learning anything new. Hope she'll come our way again!

Wow, what can I say about the time I spent with Maria! I had a very nourishing and inspiring few days at her place full of warmth, amazing food and inspiring conversations. Maria has really made the most wonderful home that is full of love as well as many plants, herbs, and homemade delights! With Arne in the house there was always music and great food, I really enjoyed digging and sowing in the garden with him chatting about books and music. Having fresh vegetables from the garden, eggs from the chickens and honey from the bees was so delicious. Three days was not long enough, though I already came away very inspired, I loved talking about natural medicine with Maria, and learning about the bees and growing veggies with Arne. plus Maurice, a cheeky angel of a dog, was always happy for a cuddle or game of football! Maria also kindly invited me to some local places like a big flea market, a local community shop for buying fresh cheeses and foods, and we got to try some bal folk dancing on the last night in the nearby town! This was my first workaway and at the very start of my van trip so I am so grateful for Maria's wonderful warm welcome and her advice and support having travelled in a van herself before. Also very grateful for the hot water bottle as the nights got colder! Thank you Maria and Arne and all the animals for a lovely few days, hope we see each other again. To anyone thinking of staying with Maria I would say definitely go! You won't regret it :)

She is a wonderful person, I can really recommend to spend some time with Celi. I've asked very spontaneous for staying with her and it was all very relaxed possible. In the end I was a bit more than a week there and joined a good friend, who stayed with her already. The talks, the food and the place are breathtaking (not in the way that you die ;). To listen all the stories of her travelling life is amazing and really inspiring! We've done the work nearly everyday together and in good company the time flies. We've mainly worked in the garden: weeding, building a fence, restoration of chairs, painting etc. All in all not the most interesting works but the to learn some basic skills it's nice. And what I've said, the company is 1A. As well is there the possibility to join her routines and make some courses for breathing, meditation or yoga with her. All the best Celi, and take kare of you! We loved hosting Natalie. She was incredible helpful in so many ways. She fitted into our family farm and community very well. She is smart, quick to learn and so I was able to give her lists of jobs to do and she just got on steadily doing them all and more. She showed initiative and was a natural in the garden and the kitchen. She is a great vegetarian cook which was so inspiring. Good luck in all your Australian and travelling adventures!

I had the pleasure of living with Yu-Zhen for two weeks and it was truly a lovely experience. I was provided with a comfortable room throughout my stay and had a homemade Taiwanese dinner together with them. Both Yu-Zhen and her husband were extremely polite, friendly and always ready to help whenever needed.Their children were full of energy, charming and extremely talented. They generously shared their favorite snacks, giving me the opportunity to try different flavors. What's more, they offered excellent suggestions for exploring Taichung and trying local snacks, and invited me to join in on activities such as museum visits and yoga sessions. My daily workload was light, mainly focusing on preparing a presentation about my home country and sharing it. Additionally, I had the pleasure of cooking Polish dinners and desserts with them, as well as taking care of small household chores. Even after leaving their home, I keep in touch with them and they are extremely helpful when I have questions related to Taiwan. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to meet them and sincerely hope that our paths will cross again in the future.

Henri adapted smoothly into this somewhat chaotic environment and was delightful to spend time with. He appreciated everything, and laughed easily. He understood our humour, and seemed to enjoy every new experience. We would welcome him back at any time.

It was a real pleasure to receive Adea for a few days, she really is a completely authentic girl and full of good will. she is very active and unpredictable. We spent a few days in a very pleasant and original exchange. her stay was not as long as we would have expected, probably due to the weather. I really recommend Adea

We had a great experience staying with Mike! Even though, he had a lot of stuff going on, he was really welcoming and took the time to spend some moments with us and explain us about his region and the activities there is to do. The job was more physical than we used to do, but is was a great opportunity to get back in shape! We also learned a lot of stuff about nature and overall were happy to participate in such a cool project :)

We had a fantastic time staying with Pieter and Tinne for 2 weeks! The whole experience from the lovely spacious accommodation, to the beautiful scenery, to the super friendly pups was amazing. Tinne and Pieter are such lovely people who really make you feel at home and appreciated for your work. The hours were flexible and the work was varied and enjoyable. They kindly drove us to the wildlife sanctuary, the chocolate factory and to Healsville to go wine tasting (definitely recommend). If you are looking for somewhere to take a breather and have a rest from the busy city whilst becoming acquainted with the Australian nature and wildlife this is the perfect place! Thanks you guys! 😊
