Staying with Freya and David was one of the most lovely experiences, They are really beautiful positive people with great music taste and i had a great time learning all about the classic German tunes, The work was really well structured we did some weeding / mosaic making / building tiny house and helping in the bakery next door. There was always good food to be had and a lovely community room to chill and play guitar or whatever, The sleeping area was very comfortable always warm with lots of open space and they are super accommodating if you need anything extra, Meeting the other people on the farm was amazing everyone that ends up there is so sound and the animals too♡, I definitely will recommend and can't wait to see the place in summer I couldn't possibly stay away.

With experienced travelers and WorkAwayers Marjo & Vincent as our first WorkAway guests, we had a wonderful first experience. Not only did we have pleasant and interesting conversations, but we also laughed together about stories and experiences we shared over meals. Marjo and Vincent handle the tasks we discussed independently, well, and thoroughly. Vincent comes into his own when his input or improvisation is needed. Marjo perseveres undauntedly with a seemingly endless task, (which she does very neatly). 🙏 Given the season, the weather unfortunately wasn't conducive to outdoor living. Nevertheless, they were busy with their own activities after work. Vincent and Marjo communicate clearly and keep their agreements. But above all, they are friendly and kind people. They have set the bar high for future guests ;)

- - - Sarah is a wonderful Workawayer! I asked her for help repainting the kitchen together. She did a fantastic job with great professionalism. She's also a thoughtful and observant young woman, and it was a pleasure chatting and sharing with her. Sarah enjoyed my cooking, which was a good challenge in itself, and we were able to talk about her life in her city. I was also very happy to give her some lessons to help her improve her French. A big thank you!

I had a great experience while volunteering there in Trujillo. Rosmary (the founder of the program) is so sweet and such a caring person. She really wants to help as many people in the community as she possibly can, starting with the kids and families connected to this place. The work is 5 days a week, with two shifts a day, morning and afternoon. Most of the kids use the program as a before or afterschool program, while some use it as their only access to school. You teach a few different subjects, and their are 4 age groups of classes. If there are more than 6 volunteers, usually folks can schedule to take breaks and have extra time off here there. If there are few volunteers however, then it's important to go for both shifts everyday. About once a week, there may also be a food distribution at some local houses after school. Part of the money from the volunteer donations go towards these food distributions, so you can be assured it goes back into the community and to the kids (present and past). I was hesitant about volunteering somewhere I needed to pay, but knowing that my payments go towards the kids and food distributions (on top of stay and meals) made me feel much better. The kids and other volunteers really made the experience for me, and I will always remember my time there. The cultural and language immersion is great as well, since the students and staff don't really speak any English. It may make teaching a class a little tricky at first, so a basic knowledge of Spanish is definitely important. Thank you Rosmary, Betsy, Edward, Americo, Silvana, Angelica, and everyone else for a great expereince!

Christine and Florine, a mother and daughter pairing from France arrived with an open heart and a willingness to embrace us, our community and our wider, wonderful island. They made the best of their time here to explore as much as they could, even attending a local national sporting event, in cold December temperatures. They embraced all tasks graciously and used the right amount of initiative. I always knew there they had left their magic touch. Within a short time they had this unruly house whipped into shape. They had a great relaxed frame of mind and I really enjoyed meal preparation , it was no longer a chore. They baked the best brownie cake and chocolate crispies. A wonderful family, and a pleasure to host. Would thoroughly recommend these lovely people.

We are so grateful for Nikita to have landed and spent a month here with us, we felt that her presence was soft and clear, a humble heart and her willingness to help is something that we will always appreciate deeply! The fact that she was up for any task no matter how big or small and the sweet connection that she had between her and our kids was truly beautiful to witness. Also bringing some Uzbekistan flavours to the table was such a treat! We feel blessed to have shared a part of this wonderful journey of life with Nikita, to share such precious moments together as we immerse ourselves in this living forest and take in all the incredible gifts that mother earth has to offer. Thank you SO much for joining the family Nikita, the doors are open 💚 Sending many blessings for your way 💚✨🙏🏻🌿🦋

I have had such a wonderdul time with Ann and her animals. In just two weeks I've seen so much and learnt many things about taking care of the animals. Ann is a nice person and we had the chance to talk about us and our stories, she likes to help people and she always make sure you have everything you need. We had nice walks together with the dogs and she showed me the area nearby. I had my own bedroom with the all essential inside and all the time I needed to rest. thank you Ann

Julia's workaway message came like a blessing right after we changed the location in our profile in preparation to move ourselves and all the cats back to italy. She arrived just a day after we arrived for the very first time with the "main load" of our cats, so together with her we started off in this new home where many things are still far from ideal for daily life. Julia adapted very well to the environment, our other two workawayers who arrived shortly after, and to all the current limitations of the house and she explored the area more than we have so far. She has a very calm nature and a very cat suitable aura, so all our cats felt really comfortable with her. Even our rather human-sceptical cat Compi, who was by far the most stressed and scared right after traveling here, found comfort and shelter under Julia's blanket right away. :) We are very grateful for Julia's help and would welcome her back any time, especially once we're more settled and can offer a more functioning home!

I stayed at this place for 7 weeks in September & October. I worked at Dan's house, at the Villa (another house further away that needed renovating), did outside work like raking and gardening as well as cooking and cleaning every once in a while when it was needed. It's a great place for meeting people from all over the world and making meaningful connections (leaving will be the hard part!). I was part of a group of 6-10 volunteers living there. Volunteers have their own corridor with rooms and a common kitchen/living room. Basic food is provided. I can't stress enough how big the place is and it'll take you at least 1-2 weeks to really know your way around, but exploring it with other volunteers was so much fun (be sure to explore the basement with the scooters at night and tell scary stories ;)). We had flexible work times and plans for who works where and with whom were made in monday meetings. In general, be sure you communicate your needs before they become an issue for you and others (in private is prefered, in monday meetings only when neccesary as it counts as work time). As it's usually a big group of people in a very big(!) house, I guess there's bound to be some minor conflicts. There was a point where some volunteers tried addressing problems they had with how the place was run, which led to frustration from the hosts as they had set systems in place that had worked for them and previous volunteers for 5 years already - both very understandable perspectives and it got resolved pretty well. Also, when working, I preferred to ask other volunteers first as hosts might be sick of being asked the same questions and having to answer them over and over again. But of course, always ask them over becoming frustrated or an accident happening! Overall, I had a very very good time there and would recommend anyone to give it a shot! I think it's a great place for personal development and for expanding on skills. The hosts were always very nice and professional. The volunteers who were there at the same time as me were some of the kindest, most open and lovely people I have ever met and the deep personal connections I made are there to stay forever! :) Thanks for reading -Luke / Jan Luka

I stayed with Bee and Soy for a three of nights in November and from the very first moment I felt welcomed like part of the family. My time with them was truly unforgettable. They generously shared their home, their stories, and their rich Mongolian culture with me, making this experience incredibly special. During my stay, I learned so much about the real nomadic lifestyle – from trying traditional meals and learning why bowls are licked after meals, to playing bone knuckle games and even milking a cow. They patiently explained their traditions and daily life, always with warmth, humor, and genuine passion. For another travelers: if you are looking for an authentic nomadic experience, full of kindness, knowledge, and positive energy, this is absolutely the place to go. Thank you, Bee and Soy, for everything. I truly hope we meet again someday and can continue our conversations and cultural exchange. Until then, farewell dear friends!

He estado 1 mes y semana y media.

We are sooo lucky that we had Milosz and Kaya staying with our cats and partially with us humans while we moved countries (from Germany to Italy)! What an amazing young couple with such positive energy, curiosity and incredible maturity. They were super adaptable too and managed to make most of our currently only very scarcely furnished new home, where chaos prevails and there are still so many issues and things to sort and fix. We were away a lot but the time we managed to spend with them was very enjoyable and it would be amazing to host or meet them again once we're fully settled. They stayed with us right before Christmas and on their last day also made a lovely veganised version of a traditional festive Polish meal for us, which was super enjoyable!! And of course, most importantly, our cats felt super comfortable around Kaya and Milosz and cuddled and even shared a bed with them. They really took great care of our cats and pampered them, alleviating all the travel and change of environment stress. Infinite thanks again for volunteering your time and energy in such a crucial moment of our lives. We certainly won't forget you!

I had my first Workaway experience with Julietta, and I am very grateful to her for it ☀️ Julietta is understanding and considerate, she welcomes you with an open heart and lets you truly experience life on the Canary Islands. We had many beautiful conversations from which I also took valuable lessons for the future. Since we are both very communicative, we were able to talk very openly with each other (even if there were occasional small misunderstandings). I had a wonderful time with her and her son, who can only make you smile because he is so energetic and entertaining. I stayed with Julietta for three weeks, and the time really flew by. I want to add that Fuerteventura is a beautiful island, which I will remember especially for its many artists and beautiful beaches. Thank you ♡ Gracias ♡

What a nice time we had in Edd's and Annika's place ! They were both super welcoming and nice with us from the very beginning. They didn't have much for us to do when we were there but were very clear about it before we arrived. It was super nice to spend time with them and their 5years old daughter, the three cats and the three dogs. They took us to visit the small city of Silves which is super nice and dropped us to the supermarket when we needed. we would come back with pleasure and be very welcome if you ever pass to Brussels !

This was my very first Workaway experience, and I spent 46 days in Attaouia. Overall, I keep very good memories of it and truly enjoyed the experience. Life in Attaouia is very affordable. Food and taxis are cheap, and most daily needs can be found in the small shops nearby (water, juice, spices, eggs, etc.). Credit cards are accepted only at BIM. The souk is right in front of the apartment: clothes on Wednesdays, food on Thursdays (fruits, vegetables, eggs). Prices are very low and people are honest and welcoming. Transportation is easy and inexpensive. There is a pizzeria with tacos and sandwiches near the taxi station. Kelaa is very close, and Marrakech is reachable by shared car at a low cost. In Marrakech, the InDrive app is reliable, always available, and much cheaper than regular taxis. A dry cleaner is also nearby, and the best bread in town is sold every evening around 6pm. Cultural exchange is the strongest part of this experience. People often come to talk to you in the street, especially children. I really loved going to the school, only a 5-minute walk away. Asmaa is kind, supportive, and always willing to help. Bringing school supplies (paper, markers, glue, cardboard) is highly recommended, as children love creative activities while learning. I created French learning activities that future volunteers can reuse. The main downside is the apartment. There is no sunlight, and it can be very cold in winter; a heater is almost necessary. Water supply can be unreliable due to pump issues, sometimes requiring manual resets. The shower works but is damaged, and cleanliness depends heavily on previous volunteers, so some cleaning may be needed. There is no Wi-Fi in the apartment or at the school, so a local data plan is required. Some details in the Workaway listing are inaccurate (no couscous, no Wi-Fi, misleading room photo). Despite these challenges, I still recommend coming — mainly for the children and the meaningful cultural exchange. I would come back.

I stayed for 3 weeks with Alexi and it was a really great experience!! The first few days in the cabin were a liittle uncomfortable for me but after some time I absolutely enjoyed the minimalistic setup of the cabin, making a fire inside at the evenings (it can get quite cold at night), the sound of the nearby river, and at the same time the tranquility of the whole place. The work was absolutely fantastic, again I could learn lots about working with clay, Alexi showed me everything and it's really great to work with him! - Thank you!! I can also highly recommend San Mateo, such a lovely little town, lots to explore especially when you are into music/art. It's definitely a special place with Alexi, perfect to connect with nature and the locals!

I spent 3 incredible weeks at the mill, which flew by. All the staff at the mill are very friendly and always willing to discuss things to organise ourselves in a way that suits everyone. They were also flexible with the working hours, taking my preferences into account from day one. The work mainly consisted of feeding and caring for the animals (cats, ducks, chickens and horses) on a daily basis, followed by other tasks that varied depending on the day (chopping wood, sweeping leaves, etc.). The job leaves you with a lot of free time. In my case, I spent a lot of time playing one of their guitars, which I could use freely. I also had a good time playing cards with the mill staff and others workaways. In addition, the food is delicious and there is a variety to choose from. Thanks Claudia and the rest of the staff for this great experience.
