Caro and Tobi were great. They could only stay a short period of time, and I wish they could have stayed longer. Very respectful and reliable. They were great with Rata the annoying labrador. Hamish y Sarah son una pareja multifacetica, cocinaron una rica torta en nuestro horno. Limpiaron nuestro jardin de maleza en la puerta de la casa. En nuestro campo de maiz también nos ayudaron con la limpieza. Hamish es un musico que hizo una cancion de nuestra Valentina en el campo, y en español! Tony was such a great host! We had a fun week filled with live music, exercise classes, beach visits, coffee and ice cream and playing around in his amazing workshop! He even went veggie for the week for me! I would completely recommend Tony and Foxton beach to anyone!

Together with my boyfriend I worked for 2 weeks at this place. Even though it was calm, the location is very pleasant: just cacti, birds, sun, and tasks to do. We mainly worked on the comedor and kitchen, plus during the busy weekends more a focus on the camping itself. In the nights where the moon is little the stars are amazing. The parents of Nati who live just a little down the camping were very helpful and kind, they have a lot of chicken and 3 sweetest dogs. It took me 2 days to embrace the nothingness that is around (tip: take groceries for yourself like vegetables, fruits and cookies), the wifi is only at available Bernardo’s house, but eventually it felt very good. I’d recommend taking a good book, that is the only thing I missed, and some thermos clothes for in the night / on days that start with clouds. Just nature, simple practical tasks and oneself. The fact that it is remote doesn’t mean you’ll be bored. Plently to do on the camping, several hikes around, walking with the dogs, a visit to the national park or sea…

Camilla spent 5 days working for us in a variety of tasks - painting, mulching, hanging a barn gate and assisting us in repairing a garden shed roof. She has an infectious personality, great aptitude and organisational ability She was always willing to help and know exactly where to fit into workers roles within our team It was our pleasure to host Camilla and we highly recommend her in her future endeavours

It was great that Angelo came and stayed. He is very pleasant, patient and personable. He was very adaptable, and picked up new skills very quickly. He helped with panel repair and painting on a 4wd, building a bridge, bike repair and gardening too name a few. His English improved remarkably in the few weeks he stayed. Highly recommended.

Staying with Michael and Clare was wonderful! The week flew by before I knew it and I enjoyed every day. There are beautiful walks with views of the mountains and stores in walking distance. Michael and Clare were so welcoming and warm and always had contagious good spirits. Michael is incredibly knowledgeable about regenerative agriculture and methods, I’m also pretty sure he knows the name of every single plant 😂; I thoroughly value all the information he took the time to share with me. Clare is so full of life and the relationship she and Michael have with their precious granddaughter Mabel, who I was lucky enough to meet while I was there, is so touching and I feel so fortunate to have gotten to be apart of daily life with this family. If you get the opportunity to stay here, don’t pass it up. Thank you guys for everything!!

Fue un verdadero gusto poder hospedar a Dory, ella es muy amable, mantuvimos buena comunicación, me apoyó mucho en tareas de casa, practicamos ingles y disfrutamos de grandes momentos en común. Dory es una gran cantante, baila bachata y es una maravillosa persona. Un placer conocerte Dory, saludos de Oax!!!

I stayed with Patricia, Bert and family for just over a month and had a great experience! The family is very friendly, and the work tasks during my stay were straightforward and mostly enjoyable. I got to do a mix of tasks - mainly gardening, but also some taking care of pets as well as general housework, which was a nice variety. The house is lovely, with a neat back yard located right next to a canal. It's also in a convenient area with easy access to both tram and train stations. Delft as a city was really charming as well.

Simona doveva fermarsi una settimana. Sottolineo: UNA. “Giusto il tempo di sistemare due cose e poi via!” ha detto. Risultato? Tre settimane piene, tonde tonde. Fortunatamente! Perché ci ha regalato giorni di risate, leggerezza e buon umore a palate. Altro che soggiorno lampo… sembrava una vacanza a tempo indeterminato! Non si vedeva tanta allegria dai tempi delle gite scolastiche: abbiamo riso fino alle lacrime, fatto battute peggiori del meteo di novembre e vissuto giornate che sembravano sketch comici scritti da una regia stellare (spoiler: la regista era lei, ovviamente!). Ma attenzione: non fatevi ingannare dal suo spirito scoppiettante… Simona è anche una macchina da guerra del lavoro. Precisa, puntuale, corretta, con una marcia in più e una risata sempre pronta. Un mix esplosivo tra efficienza e simpatia, con un cuore grande così. Insomma: è arrivata in punta di piedi e se n’è andata lasciando dietro di sé una scia di energia positiva e bei ricordi. Una splendida persona, dentro e fuori. E ora che è partita… ci tocca ridere di meno (ma solo fino al suo prossimo ritorno!).

Pasamos unos 5 semanas increíbles en el jardín! Gabo y Flor son muy amables - la organización de la chamba diaria funciona muy bien y los dos siempre se fijan que te estas cuidando por el calor. Las tareas son muy variables así une no se aburre. El jardín es super bonito! Es convivencia con la naturaleza donde une puede aprender muchísimas cosas de ella. Los intercambios con la gente que pasaba por el jardín eran siempre interesantes y conocimos mucha gente ahí! Es realmente un lugar mágico - de las atardeceres junto al mar ni hablar! Las comidas también son super nutritivas y riquísimas! Super-recomendado!!

Tallula was helping a couple of weeks, she always had initiative to ask what needed to be done which is very comfortable. She is super talented with writing and helped with a lot of copywriting tasks and made a very nice visual pdf from some plain text document. We can recommend without hesitation.

Rasmus and his friend Zak came to us for two weeks. Young Scottish farm Lads. Both forward thinkers with an incredible work ethic. they were willing to tackle any job that was presented to them and even made a lot of great suggestions for their next projects. We had a lot of lively dinner conversations. Both well educated and entertaining. All and all we were very happy to host them and they are welcome back anytime.

Diego es un excelente voluntario, con una infinidad de conocimientos y una gran habilidad para hacer arreglos de todo tipo en la casa ! Nos ayudó con infinidad de problemas de electricidad , fontanería , etc Como si no fuera poco Diego es una persona encantadora, voluntariosa , creativa , comunicativa y ademas con un gran sentido del humor que incluso en momentos difíciles sabe sacarnos una sonrisa :-) Recomendable al 100% !

Luca and Flora spend about 6 weeks with us at the end of 2924, apologies I am so late leaving feedback. They are a wonderful couple, we were blessed our experience with them was amazing. They came with big smiles, happy attitudes and a willingness to meet our family and blend in with us so easy. They worked hard in the garden, Pearse is so grateful for all the garlic they planted, hundreds of garlic bulbs, they cut wood, did weeding, general clearing and tidying the outside area. Inside, they cleaned, cooked such yummy food, our daughter's still miss their amazing cooking, they were great friends to our daughter's and son. We enjoyed our swims, saunas, traditional music nights, boards games, and many conversations. They really became part of our family and we wish them well on their adventures, very grateful to the beautiful cookery book ye created for us, we treasure it and enjoy the recipes.. Looking forward to meeting another time. Would highly recommend to any host.

I had such a beautiful time with Amy and Danny. The weeks I spent with them was one of the highlights of my time spent in Oaxaca. They are both so warm, kind, artistic, knowledgeable, flexible, and full of stories. I really enjoyed the flow of working with them- it was quite hot during my time there (April), so we would work for a few hours in the morning, rest during the heat of the day, and then do a few more hours once it cooled off again. The food we prepared together was healthy and tasty, and they always had drinking water available. I learned so much about natural building from Danny. We built an outdoor shower made with palm fronds, as well as stairs and walls with clay off the land. They took me for some local adventures and introduced me to friends in their community. I was sick for part of my time there, and they were very supportive with helping me get well. Working and living on their land was a wonderful way to experience Zipolite. It is definitely a rustic experience (the ad calls it glamping, I would say that's accurate), but all my needs felt met. Come prepared to get a bit dirty, work hard, live in nature, and slow down into a grounded flow. I would highly recommend this Workaway to anyone looking to experience the Oaxacan coast, learn about natural material land development, and connect with and learn from two wonderful humans!

Overall a great atmosphere with the hosts Sivan and Joachim, other workawayers and also friends who popped in. Think of very tasty lunches and dinners under the grapevines, walking and playing with dogs, hikes to the mountains (that are not far) or taking the metro to the city, all this while having interesting conversations about just about everything. This is an absolute wonderful Workaway; if you love dogs, go for it!

I stayed with Larissa from the 13th of October till the end of november (2024) It’s best to discuss your arrival with Lara before booking any flight tickets so she can help you with that. There’s a small airport nearby (Anahim Lake), but the plane was fully booked so she suggested to take a flight to Williams Lake. Upon arrival I was welcomed by Lara and her dogs and we took off to a beautiful car ride to her house in Nimpo Lake. Also the views from the plane (Pacific Coastal Airlines) were stunning, as it flew at a low altitude through the beautiful landscape. You get a nice overview of British Columbia so I’d highly recommend. The property is very nice and consist of different buildings (Mechanic shop/ bakery, sheds/storage and the house) There is always multiple things to do at the property so basically you can choose what you want to do for work. I helped with organising, carpentry, assembly,…there is a lot of equipment, tools and spare parts available. I really liked doing my daily routine jobs. I got up in the morning and started the fire in the basement or did some wood-splitting and stacking in the afternoon. Lara has a well equipped kitchen and fully stocked pantry. So if you like to cook or bake there is everything you need. (but keep in mind that fresh vegetables are not so easy to get in these remote area’s). In the evenings I had good meals like steaks, chicken, turkey,.. the food is of very good quality! I had the opportunity to come with Lara to Whistler, we stayed there for a week. I really liked these road trips, It’s a good way to see the different types of landscapes (and weather) of British Columbia. We also went to Williams Lake to shop and stayed there for about 4 days. I met some nice people on these trips and learned a lot about the culture. In summary: - Stunning landscape - Good food - Flexible working hours - Well equipped - Very remote but there’s still some other people in the area. Thank you Lara for this great experience!

We had an amazing time with Edwyn. We are truly thankful for all his hard work. He helped outside and inside. Outside with gardening, in the tunnel, weeding, clearing up the garden, cutting wood, composting, getting trailer loads of horse manure, helping with the compost toilet project, helping with our seed share and wellness workshops, and so much more. Inside he did housework, cooking and organising. Basically there was never a task he didn't take on 100% and he wants afraid of hard work. We also had a lot of fun times, music, dance, meals out, swims, saunas . I would highly recommend Edwyn, he's a wonderful guest and will bring gentle joy to any household. 💜🙏💚
