I stayed with Mary Ann and Jack for about a month and they immeditely made me feel so at home! I loved Lund and I loved the work but none of it would have been the same if it wasn't with the best hosts I could have ever hoped for. Mary Ann was so flexible with my schedule whenever I needed to talk to my (now husband) who's stuck on a boat working and both of them were the most supportive with everything going on in my life. I will never forget this experience and will forever be truly grateful for everything! I was lucky that the day I arrived Mary Ann's family was around and they took me for a little hike, they took me out for a lovely birthday dinner and took me to Powell river when I needed to go there. The work with Mary Ann was so much fun, listening to Bon Iver and chatting and time just flew by :D I started to write down her gardening tips for my future garden and I loved digging for rocks. I miss taking Sadie for our little walks and her company! The sunsets at diver's rock were incredible. Everyone I met was so so nice and this trip helped me in more ways than I could ever explain. I miss all of you very much and hope to get to visit you again!

I spent a week at the farm and it was wonderful! The place is so beautiful and well maintained, thoughtfully curated in every detail, and the people there were amazing, very kind and generous. Sanchi, even if she was not at the farm, kindly coordinated my transportation from Ayodhya railway station to the farm. There Palak, who is coordinating the farm, welcomed me and helped me figuring out my role in the farm. She is really kind hearted and sweet and she was not only a mentor during the whole week, but she also became a friend. The first two days I helped Vikas cleaning the guests' rooms. He is the housekeeper and a very caring and sweet person. Then, with Vikas and Palak's help, I created a new design for the kitchen garden and for the boards of the kitchen and medical gardens. I also had the opportunity to meet sir Ved Krishna, the owner. It was a pleasure to get to know him, he is an amazing and thoughtful person and he always made sure that I was comfortable and that my permanence there was enjoyable. He also arranged for me a visit at the paper factory that he owns nearby the farm and made sure that someone gave me a complete tour of the place. Parkhi, a girl who works there, was so kind and friendly and she explained to me very precisely every process of the production of paper and biodegradable plates. At the farm every meal was delicious, well prepared and full of flavour! I really enjoyed my staying there, I just wish I had more time to spend at this farm. Hopefully I will come back someday! I really thank everyone that I met during this week for making me having a great time.

I look at the pile of dirty dishes and I'm reminded of Magda and Marcin. When they visited us, the dishes were always washed, and delicious smells often filled the kitchen. It's all thanks to them. It was a very successful exchange. Thank you for their commitment and energy in designing our home.

Yuki was an exceptional volunteer and a truly wonderful person. She is friendly, kind, and easy to connect with. During her time with us, she fully enjoyed participating in all activities, including visiting one of our member’s coffee tours. Her presence brought joy and positivity to our community and also supported our member. We deeply appreciate her cheerful spirit, kindness, and the warmth she shared with everyone.

Petra managed really well considering she was working on her own most of the time, as I had some last minute work (that I couldn't refuse) and so couldn't work alonside her as much as I hoped. Her English is very good and she was able to follow instruction well and was up for doing the tasks I set. She was a polite and friendly guest and easy to be around. I'm happy that we managed to do some nice outings together, in between work.

Spending time with Fred and Monika was a true blessing. This is the most remote home i've ever been to, and I learned so much from these two special souls. This was my first ever experience spending time with someone completely self sufficient, and it opened up my eyes to a new way of life. A life filled with fresh food, lots of time in nature, and hard work. But its clear that this hard work is worth every drop of sweat. Thank you Fred and Monika for welcoming me into your home, and I can't wait to visit again in the future.

My experience with Jujuju was the best possible. Judith, Jurgen, Juliette, and the Canadian family who also lives there are fantastic people. Everywhere you look, the atmosphere is musical, playful, and full of cultural exchanges. Despite my difficulty with the language, they were patient and kind at all times, which helped me feel more confident in expressing myself. The project is beautiful and very well structured. They explain each step of the work and the routine is light and peaceful. At the end of the day, there is plenty of time to explore the region (or to sleep 😂). In my days-off, I even took a mini trip to Belgium and Germany. I was very lucky and arrived at Jujuju's house on the week they were promoting an open garden festival in partnership with the neighbourhood. The party was great, and I met some neighbours and got to spend a little time with them. I had two incredible weeks in the Netherlands, learning new vegan recipes and sharing a little bit about Brazil and Portugal as well. I hope we can meet again soon.

No words can describe the time I spent in Dome Creek. It was all heart! This special family welcomed me into their home as family. Spending time with Dave, Jess, Willy, Tom, Opi, Sunny, Leica, and Tomtom the turkey was beyond anything i could have imagined. I truly enjoyed learning what a self sustaining life could look like. It made me think about how I want to live my own life. Catching 'rainbowless' rainbow trout was a blast, and I enjoyed learning new sophisticated fishing techniques from Willy. From Dave's good music and vibes, to Jess's food filled with love, this was one of my fondest travel experiences ever. I can't wait to go back, as these new friends are for life! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!

⸻ Ruya took excellent care of our dogs — she even cleaned and brushed them every day. They adored her, and we felt truly lucky to host her. She is also a wonderful cook; the traditional Iranian dishes she prepared were absolutely delicious. Ruya is a quick learner as well and has already started speaking Turkish! I should also mention her talent in gardening — she did a fantastic job maintaining and cleaning the garden. Thank you, Ruya,. Kuskis and Abakus send hugs 🙂

Felix has been with us for two months this summer. He is a wonderful person, full of energy, fantasy and effort. If he gives you his word, be sure that he will keep it no matter what. He has been helping us with everything from house, kids, gardening, and in our private life. He is a fast worker and efficient. He likes challenges and he is very social. We would definitely recommend him as a volunteer. He is always welcome back. Thank you Felix for everything you have done for us. We will miss you!

A great stay ❣️ At first, I expected to stay for three weeks, but ended up staying for almost two months. Thank you, Roger and Nohemí, for accepting me as part of this family🏠 My volunteer duties were varied: installing a stove, woodworking, general maintenance, gardening, and several other things. But they always tried to make me feel comfortable with the tasks I'm good at, showing great kindness and tenderness. Volunteer duties are from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and you go at your own pace. They never impose a schedule, but if you work and do what they ask, there won't be any problems. 🧑🏼‍🔧 I shared the volunteer experience with another person, which made it more fun and easier to manage. The best part about the house is sharing time with the people who live there, all very different as well as beautiful. The energy of the place makes you feel comfortable from the start; everyone goes at their own pace, and with love and patience, everything works. It was a beautiful experience, and the people who coordinate the space took great care of it. The place is also located in the Montseney Natural Park ⛰️, which makes it even more magical. Thousands of hikes, fruits, mushrooms (when it's the season), and adventures await. I recommend coming here and leaving with a large group of people, like a family.❣️🌹❣️

Shannon shared our home for three weeks in August, very quickly becoming part of the family. She brings with her a rich tapestry of experiences that have shaped her thoughtful approach to both life and work. Her varied employment encounters, at home and abroad, along with her diverse academic pursuits, spoke to a quiet adaptability that we have seen firsthand on our farm. She approached each task with calm focus and a steady grace, contributing in a way that was deeply valued. Shannon’s international travels have broadened her outlook and deepened her connection to Irish heritage and culture. While in Sligo, she enjoyed exploring the locality, took part in the annual Heritage Week and enjoyed art, history and traditional music sessions, embracing the local spirit with enthusiasm. Whether tending to the garden, gathering seaweed, working with the sheep, foraging for blackberries, jam making or sharing her interests in wool processing, dyeing, spinning, and crocheting, deep respect for the environment guided all her work. Shannon was always eager to learn, extremely helpful, and our common connection exploring the land, sea, and mountains made her time with us here all the more special. We feel very fortunate to have shared this time with you and are grateful for the care and curiosity you brought to each day. We would like to wish you well in the future and know our paths must cross again. Ria and Enda

Bee and Soy. They are two people that give kindness to the world. And we felt it when we visited. We helped out with some things, but since we where also tired from our previous journeys we took it a bit slower. And they understood our human need for rest. We are very thankful for this. They are wonderful people. We learned things we will remember for the rest our lives. We even got some fun homeworks. We hope to see them again some time.
