A wonderful experience hosting Jori and Roxanne! They are very hardworking, in good spirits, great chefs haha, friendly, openminded and respectful with the other volunteers. Waking up early to participate in the morning yoga classes, with positive and good energy, and always interested in permaculture topics and learning new things with curiosity. Highly recommended to host them! Abrazos grandes — and you are always welcome again!

Camille and Erika are truly wonderful people, incredibly kind, fun, and very easy-going. From the very first day, they brought a great energy into our home. Their lovely dog Milo immediately bonded with our youngest daughter, and was very easy to live with. They supported us with two very different tasks. First, they helped paint the walls of a house, and they exceeded all our expectations. They were extremely efficient, hard-working, well organized, and always proactive. We could fully trust them! Later on, they also spent time taking care of our two daughters, who instantly adopted them. Camille and Erika were caring, attentive, and playful, and our girls felt comfortable and happy with them right away. Beyond the help, we shared many meaningful and interesting conversations and truly enjoyed spending time together. We would be delighted to welcome them back anytime and to see them again in the future. We feel very grateful and lucky to have crossed paths with them.

Giorgia stayed with us for a month and we were very happy to have her here. She is a great person, always asking if we need help, calm and responsible, I can rely on and totally trust her for taking care of my kids. From reading, creative play and always find a good way to interact with our 5yo daughter. She is also a great cooker and an authentic person. Thank you so much for your help!

Mustafa stayed in our farmhouse for two months and was a great help where ever he was needed. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay there during the whole period of time he was there, but he was also great help in accepting deliveries for the house needed by the workers, still doing renovation work. Mustafa gave a helping hand when ever he was asked for assistance. He enjoyed making fire in the stove so we could do the cooking together. He also made sure there was always enough wood for the fire which had to be brought in from the wood shelter. My two dogs adore Mustafa and they will be very sad next time we arrive in Tirol and he will not be there. To watch him play with them outside was absolutely touching. Sometimes it was not easy to find the shoes Jinglebella had taken out into the snow. Anyway, we wish Mustafa all the best for finding an appropriate job and we hope to see him again once he is around.

My stay with this great family was a very good one! They are friendly and don’t hesitate to bring you into their lives, making you feel like a real member of the family. The work was clear from the start: helping on the farm in any way you can. Radu was a great teacher in renovation and construction. He always tried to explain why we were doing each task and what the final result would be. I learned a lot from him. The children were, of course, full of life and energy, and I had a lot of fun playing with them. Lucie was very sweet; she always invited me to join them for family outings and did her best to make me feel at home. In summary, it was a Workaway experience that is a true example of great cooperation.

At Pure’s farm, we spent one of the best weeks of our entire trip. He has created a wonderful place where you build special connections with people from all over the world, learn something new every day, and stay in close contact with unspoiled nature. Pure is carrying forward a beautiful project, and we are happy to have contributed, even if only in a small way. We loved being there so much that, like many other volunteers, we’ll try to come back! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — thank you again for everything!

I had such a lovely first work away experience with Judy and Nick. They were very open, generous, and kind. They encouraged as well to see some of the surroundings of this area in France. I worked in the garden, took care of the horses and chickens, walked their little dog Polly, picked fruits and made jam. I had a great time. Thanks a lot Judy and Nick.

We spent relaxing and enjoyable weeks working for Jade and Shekhar. Their place is without a doubt the coolest spot in Arambol, and every evening you can enjoy great live music with a wonderful crowd. We helped in content creation activities in order to promote live music nights. All the staff members were friendly and helpful , as Jade and Shekhar. We truly had a great time! Thank you again

My stay at Vilia's place was such a great experience. We were a great group or workawayers and she was an amazing host! Very welcoming and active, we shared many dinners, lunches and activities together. I truly felt like we become a little family. She took us to many places and showed us around, integrated us to the local communities and let us experience a local and authentic life. I enjoyed working on all tasks around her Vila, from gardening, painting, cleaning and many others. The location has beautiful views, surronded by nature and there is the sea on one side and mountains on the other which makes it very special. I will always have very warm memories to these beautiful times :)

Mimori and Keisuke were nice and lovely couple. They observed house rules very well and kept the room clean. They were one of our best volunteers so far. Appreciate their hard works at our farm for the past 2 weeks. They were very self disciplined, every tasked given were done well. Composting, sowing seeds, weeding, pruning, repairing chicken coop, building new fire pit and making short video. They really helped us to complete a lot of our pending works. Really appreciate it and highly recommended to other hosts! Do not hesitate to accept them as your volunteers.

Ashlee, a bright young lady from Australia, was very hardworking and managed every task extremely well, often working alongside me and handling responsibilities independently when needed. She showed special care, patience, and deep love for her three “roommate” dogs — Holly, Lulu, and Matz — treating them truly like family. We shared every moment together: fun times, tiring days, delicious meals, and even moments of sadness. Her positive, easygoing, and kind vibe always lifted my spirits and brought warmth to our home. Thanks to Ashlee, the dogs were always well cared for and happy. We feel very lucky to have had her with us. Wishing her a wonderful Christmas and a joyful New Year as she continues her journey through Southeast Asia 🎄✨

Léo & Eloise were a pleasure to host and quickly became great members of our team. Everyone was really impressed with their work ethic and also great people to hang out with. We wish them all the best and hope to see them back again one day. Merci

I spent two weeks in a quiet village with a family and their four kids. The kids were incredibly energetic and friendly. Every day was full of movement playing outside, helping with small tasks, and sharing meals together. Their energy was amazing, and through spending time with them, I learned many things beyond just Finnish culture, especially about family life and daily routines. I mainly cooked lunch and dinner, which I really enjoyed. Cooking for a big family and sharing meals together was a fun experience. I visited in November, which is a very quiet season, and there was no wifi. While it may not be suitable for digital nomads, it is a great place for those who want a true offline experience and cultural exchange! Kiitos paljon hyvästä kokemuksesta!!

In matters of order and cleanliness, your work reached a level of near perfection — the house shone as a result of your efforts. Permit me, however, a more personal observation. I could not escape the feeling that your talents were not fully employed in this place. Your erudition, broad historical knowledge, and command of language would lend themselves most naturally to the teaching of English and history. It was for this reason, and with genuine respect, that I came to address you — half in jest, yet wholly in admiration — as “Professor”, for your intellect was at once humbling and inspiring. Hi! I was looking for a job to fill my free time during the winter. Based on my skills, I selected various options available through Workaway and finally happily agreed to work (from November 14 to December 18, 2025) with Sabrina and Hansjörg on their organic farm projects. They live in a beautiful farm with their two lively children, Finnian and Aluna, several nice other residents and collaborators, and, of course, cows, horses, chickens, and cats! Sabrina and Hansjörg are truly kind and helpful, as well as serious and professional workers. I always felt welcome and supported! The social environment that is created is always friendly and rich in exchanges, and I have always eaten very well and at will during our lunches together! I also made friends with the other residents (both temporary and permanent) of the farm: they were always friendly, kind, and helpful! The apartment where I lived and, in general, every room in the house is equipped with all amenities, well maintained, clean, and functional. The place is also well connected and easy to find, as well as being surrounded by countryside and offering views of the beautiful Swiss mountains, green hills, and forests! Magical! Overall, I had a new, rewarding, and fulfilling experience! I hope to return one day to say hello!

I had the great pleasure of volunteering at Liljana’s shelter in Vlora for about two weeks. The organization is incredibly warm, professional, and deeply committed to animal welfare. Every day was filled with meaningful tasks, whether caring for the dogs and cats, gardening, organizing, or helping with the daily operations of the shelter. Liljana and her team live their mission with so much passion and dedication – you immediately feel welcome and part of the community. I learned a lot about animal care, sustainable work in an NGO, and Albanian culture. The dogs and cats are all unique, friendly, and full of character – it was a true joy to work with them. I highly recommend the Shelter in Vlora to anyone who is motivated, open-minded, and loves animals. Many thanks to Liljana and her team for this enriching experience. I hope to return next year!

I stayed for 5 weeks with Sonja and Holger, actually one week longer than was first planned. It was a very pleasant experience to be accommodated in a nice guest room on this peaceful and quiet piece of land in the middle of nowhere. 😅 the (sand) road is literally ending close to their farm (dead-end), so it’s very rural and remote but yet within an hour by car you can already reach Lisbon. So it was an ideal base for me to stay with them and still be able to visit the capital, nearby cities and horse-farms to get riding lessons. It was a very good time with them and their animals and I already miss the cuddles with the dogs, goats and horses. If you’re interested in the rural life of Portugal, vegetable farming and animal care you should definitely consider visiting and working with Sonja and Holger!

We spent one month volunteering in October 2025, and we absolutely loved the experience. We worked with a wide variety of animals in a beautiful setting, enjoyed a fantastic team atmosphere, and were accommodated in a lovely cottage with a chimney, located just in front of the horses’, sheep’s, and deer enclosures. We really appreciated having two days off per week, meals adapted to our dietary requirements, and the opportunity to enjoy the delicious unsold food from the park café. Barbara was mainly responsible for the feedings and cleaning the enclosures. She also did some gardening, painting, and assisted in the shop whenever needed. As for me, Leo, I mainly helped with park maintenance, including landscaping, construction, and repairs. I was always available to assist with feeding and caring for the animals when required. We highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to work with a variety of iconic Australian animals, right next to the Great Ocean Road !

We spent three weeks volunteering at Locky’s Legacy in November 2025, and we absolutely loved the experience. This sanctuary specialises in wombats, and our main mission was to finish the wombatorium, which we successfully completed! We also built a fence in the sheep enclosure for the car park. Most of the work involved painting and building with Don, helping Lyn with feedings, cleaning enclosures, picking fresh grass, and doing laundry. We stayed in a fully equipped bus, which was quite a unique and memorable camping-style experience. Meals were provided every day, and all dietary requirements were accommodated. Leo stayed an additional two weeks and had the chance to witness the opening of the wombatorium, enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, help clean and organise the shed, assist Don with collecting food for the animals, and support Lyn whenever needed. Don and Lyn were wonderful hosts. Along with their dogs, Ricky and Casey, we shared card games, watched cricket, enjoyed a few beers, and had lovely smoko breaks with coffee and biscuits. We highly recommend this place, especially if you love wombats, you’ll be more than happy for sure !
