I had a brilliant few days with Viv and her wonderful family. It was an honour to be each others' first Workaway experience! I felt so welcomed into the home, and immediately was at ease, calm and comfortable thanks to everyone's kindness and thoughtfulness. I had my own space in the house (own bedroom and bathroom) but also got to enjoy lots of time with the family - which was great. In between working on preparing and leveling ground before laying some paving, and chopping up wood, I had a great time exploring the fantastic countryside around Alice Springs with Viv and her kiddos. She showed me amazing places I would never have visited otherwise! Oh, and she cooked amazing food for us all, too :) What a fab time - thank you so much!

I loved my stay with Aura and her daughter. They were both very welcoming and opened their hearts and home. Their home is lovely and the kids from school and kindergarten stop by all the time to hang out or do art projects. I was interesting to be a part of the community for a week and experience how life is in a Honduran village. Highly recommended!

I spent almost three weeks with Marta, Tim, and their three wonderful children in a cozy little village about 30 kilometers from Budapest. For those who want to be close to the capital, it can be reached by bus in just 40 minutes. And for anyone looking to escape the big city, this place offers peace, quiet, and the sound of birdsong. I truly enjoyed my time there, pulling weeds, planting,watering the garden, walking the dog, and even using the compost toilet. I met two fellow volunteers, with whom I coud speak Spanish and English. Marta's five years old daughter taught me how to tie my shoelaces in a way that never comes undone. I will always remember Marta's delicious cooking, the family activities, the folk dance events and the singing gatherings in the Fonó. We will meet again soon.

Thijs Durante el tiempo que estuvo con nosotros, demostró ser una persona excepcional, siempre dispuesta a colaborar y a brindar apoyo cuando fue necesario. Su actitud respetuosa, amable y responsable hizo que fuera muy apreciado por estudiantes, compañeros y toda la comunidad educativa. Como profesor, destacó por su dedicación, paciencia y compromiso con el aprendizaje de sus estudiantes. Sus clases fueron dinámicas, interesantes y reflejaron su vocación por la enseñanza. Además, su capacidad para relacionarse con los demás y trabajar en equipo contribuyó a crear un ambiente positivo y enriquecedor. Agradecemos profundamente su tiempo, esfuerzo y la excelente disposición que mostró en cada actividad. Nos llevamos el recuerdo de una gran persona y un gran profesional, cuyo aporte fue valioso para todos nosotros. Le deseamos muchos éxitos en sus futuros proyectos y estamos seguros de que seguirá dejando una impresión positiva en cada lugar al que vaya.

Elena spent four weeks with us teaching English for oiur students and assisting the German main tutor. Throughout her stay she demonstrated excellent communication and teaching skills. We wish her all the best in her endeavors.

I spend one month in Kelaa and I had an amazing time. The school is well equipped and the students were super motivated. I only taught one evening class every day (mostly as assistant teacher), so there was plenty of time to explore the area and make new friends. All the teachers at the school were really nice and helpful and ensured I had a good time. Kelaa might not have to most exciting sights, but it gives you the chance to experience an authentic Moroccan life and to get to know the amazing people.

I spent nearly 2 months staying with Gill and Stephen, what an incredible experience! I’m leaving with my heart full of their kindness and the wonderful times we shared. I’m definitely going to miss Gill’s delicious meals and cakes, their two crazy adorable dogs and all the laughs we had together. Thanks to you, I’ve really improved my English, but I’ve also discovered Kiwi culture and I’m definitely now almost a Kiwi kid. The tasks I was asked to do were mainly related to their beautiful garden, and the hosts are really flexible, it was a pleasure to help them. Thanks to Stephen, I learnt a lot of new skills, like how to use a chainsaw. Thanks again for your help with my car, I'm really grateful for that. I miss you all so much already!!! See yaaa :)

Lorenzo looked after Hugo for a week and he was a lovely caring guy and dog sitter always attentive to Hugo. His presence is our house was easy and chatty. He was always positive and agreeable and more than willing to help with anything. He is self assured and capable and I would recommend him for any future Workaway. Thanks Lorenzo for your help. 🐾🙏

Staying with Martine, Christian and Snoopy was the best way to start my adventure in Canada. I spent a bit more than a month with them. From the moment I arrived they made me feel at home. They are amazing human beings, always helpful and you can tell how they genuinely care for their workawayers. They want you to have the best experience, so they will help you with everything they can to accomplish it. I enjoyed the walks with Snoopy. He's a very sweet dog, with lots of energy, and such a funny personality that made me laugh a lot. Kayaking, rowing, a day trip to Pender Island, board games night, yummy dinners by Martine...and the best company ever. All of this in the beautiful Galiano Island, which has now a place in my heart among this beautiful family. Thank you for all the nice memories and for show me some more of the human kindness. This is exactly what makes my travelling EPIC. I will see you soon :) Lots of love

We would like to thank Guilia and Sylvain for the wonderful job they did in preparing a new garden for planting in spring. They are both hardworking and thoughtful in the job they did, with great results. We highly recommend them to any host. They also prepared a lovely dinner for us one night. We were very grateful for their help and wish them well on their future adventures.

Avoir TAsha comme volontaire a été une expérience riche humainement. Volontaire, disponible, patiente, généreuse et très empathique elle a su à travers le projet "Sharing Circle" qu'elle a élaboré et mené apporter une touche d'authenticité et de nouveauté à l'association. Merci Tasha

i stayed here for a total of 6 weeks, and i really enjoyed my stay. i met many kind souls here. we worked together, had many nice conversations and spend much great time together. the tasks are varied, and they always make sure you have enough rest. food is so nice, and i enjoy helping in the kitchen as well. furthermore, i got the chance to understand more about Buddhism with all the seminars, meditation sessions and books in the library. feel so grateful for the experience i had here, and the place feels like home :) would love to be back soon!

This was my first Workaway experience and I stayed with Gloria for a month. She was absolutely lovely from the get go, picking me up from Florence and making me feel really comfortable. Gloria is happy, knowledgeable and kind, and was an absolute pleasure to stay with. I mostly helped around the garden with painting garden furniture, mowing the lawn, etc. and she always made sure I was happy doing the work. Outside of the work, Gloria would often give me lifts to Florence when she was going in and showed me the nearby town San Casciano. She is great at cooking and kept me well fed, and even taught me some recipes which I have had a go at making at home. The area was beautiful, with a lovely walk by the river nearby. There was a bus stop just at the end of the driveway which would take you directly to Florence, though it is not always the most reliable so having a car would be best. Also I want to mention Bianca and Michele who were also really lovely and I loved speaking to them when they came round. It was really nice staying with you and I hope to see you again when I’m next in Florence! Thank you :)

It was nice to meet Louise and learn a little about her life experiences. She became popular with everyone especially given her pastry chef skills were put to practice. We wish her well on her journey.

I’m sure I already left feedback but Workaway just told me I hadn’t….? It’s been a long time…. Antoine brought good skills and work ethic here at Ohakatapu and left his mark. 👍 He was very conscientious about what work he did. Celie was also a good worker and brought a vibrant energy to whatever she did.

Anna spent 6 weeks with our family supporting all of us at home with all day to day duties which she never complained about and in that time was always patient with all of us, particularly with the children even when they were challenging and I had total trust for them being in her care. She was excellent with our Cat as a real genuine animal lover and will make a fantastic teacher in her next steps as a carer. We were all sad to see her leave and wish her the best.

Alex and Lili stayed with us for three weeks and were a pleasure to host. They were friendly, easy to get along with, and fitted in well with our household. They kept their room and shared spaces clean and tidy throughout their stay, and were always respectful of our home. They completed the tasks we asked of them and approached their work with a positive attitude. They helped us getting ready to move home, both in the old apartment and in the new house. They also helped keep our household running smoothly during this chaotic time, by helping out with meals, doing lots of washing up and other daily chores. We are particularly grateful for Alex's car-fixing skills and for Lili's steady hand with a paintbrush! We enjoyed getting to know them both and we wish them all the best in their future travels and Workaway experiences.
