What Aaron and his team do here for the dogs is beyond incredible. It was inspiring to witness everyone's selfless service, working towards providing these dogs with the loving care that they ultimately deserve. You can tell that everyone here is passionate about their work, and they are willing to make sacrifices to go beyond the needs of the dogs. I am grateful to have been able to help out for a short while and for all that I learned. The dogs here are so healthy and happy and their energy will certainly bring a bit of magic into anyone's life who so chooses to help them out.

Kexin (Judia) stayed with us in the middle of September, our busy season with the harvest. The agreement with her was that she would make meals and look after the house and do some daily animal chores, while I was out of the house operating harvest equipment. Judia made many delicious meals and did a great job keeping the house running! Unfortunately she developed some allergies and illness and had to return home earlier than planned. She is welcome to come back anytime to complete her visit and support us again in the house! It was interesting to talk with her and share life experiences.

These two wonderful weeks in the little paradise of Mauro and Jose went way too fast ! The Life and people in Meliquina are amazing, you can do many things around : swim in the lake or the river, hike, go to local concerts… The atmosphere between the volunteers was great and it was a pleasure to play with the kids, Valen and Salvi, who are great spanish teachers ! I would 100% recommend this workaway ! One great memory I will keep in mind is the new year diner we had all together with the family, everyone cooked a dish from his country ! If you are confortable with living with a lot of people in a closed space, and with washing a good amount of dishes, then the time you will have there will be as fabulous as the stars you can observe during the night. Mercedes and Beau spent with us a couple of weeks in june. Time with them was very nice. They are great workers, focused, smart but even friendly and funny and great fisherman. All of us still have a wonderful memories of them.

I spent three weeks with Leena and Simo. I can’t imagine that those three weeks could have been any better. They truly have kind and warm hearts. Every day was wonderful. They gave me so many new experiences and took me to various places. Thanks to them, I was able to learn many Finnish words, try Finnish food, and experience how people live there. When I arrived at their home, they said, “Please make yourself at home,” and I really did. I spent every day feeling relaxed. We enjoyed many things together—so many that I can’t even list them all—such as walking, crochet, and winter sports. Fortunately, I was also able to meet their daughter, and she was very nice as well. I really appreciate everything they did for me. Thank you very much.

We had Benedict with us last year and just noticed we never left a review. He is a great addition to any team: very helpful with handy tasks, always motivated, and easy-going. When given a task, he completes it thoroughly and works independently when needed. We were glad to have you with us for a little while and very grateful that you tackled our garden for us! We definitely recommend Benedict.

I stayed with Veronique for one week in January, and it was a really positive experience. From the beginning, communication was clear and easy, and I felt comfortable right away. Veronique is respectful, organized, and very easy to live with. I truly enjoyed spending time with Maeve and Abi. They are lovely kids, and I liked interacting with them through daily activities and simple English exercises. We also had a great time cooking dumplings together and playing board games, which made the stay feel warm and natural. I’m very grateful for the trust and openness during my stay, and I would gladly recommend Veronique and her family.

Jordi y Trampa son unos hosts fantásticos. Me sentí muy buen acogida desde el primer momento, por un Jordi amable y comunicativo -y muy buen cocinero!- y por una Trampa -es la súper perra de la casa- simpática y amorosa. Y lo mismo luego con sus amigos y família... Y las gatas! Os echo de menos a todos! Ha sido un placer compartir este tiempo con vosotros, estoy agradecida de haberos conocido y espero que nos volvamos a ver pronto *

Minji was an absolute joy to host for a month and a half. Always cheerful and positive, she brought a warm and uplifting presence into the home and was wonderful company throughout her stay. She showed great initiative, never needing direction, and was consistently happy to help. Her help with keeping the house clean was thoughtful and very much appreciated. Her Korean cooking was exceptional, and sharing meals together was a highlight, along with the fun games (Quiddler) and relaxed time spent together. Watching the Physical: Asia and Physical 100 series together made for some of the most fun and memorable nights of the stay. She also enjoyed the outdoors, and the time spent hiking through the forest created many lovely memories. She took excellent care of the dogs, treating them with genuine care and responsibility, as if they were her own. Some of the tasks she did: Cleaning the house regularly, dog walks and medication, cooking, prepping when I cook, putting up and taking down Xmas decorations, trimming trees/landscaping , organizing the house, grocery shopping, and much more. She’s met and impressed many of our friends. She’s very personable and social and always kind. She quickly became more than a guest and left a lasting, positive impression. She will be missed, and she is welcome back anytime. Minji, you are family now — our home will always be open to you. Wishing you all the best in your future adventures! xo

cRis was an excellent workawayer. He has a ton of life experience, which was clearly portrayed through his ability to see tasks and complete them without needing to be asked. He was tidy, helpful in the kitchen with meals, or cleanup afterwards. He is a very motivated individual, and was happy to take on any project he was asked to help with, whether it was something he'd done before or new to him. He was patient and entertaining with our children. His english pronunciation was quite good, and he actively worked to continue learning. We would host him again in an instant.

Arnaud & Mathilde are an incredible couple — always positive, smiling, and in a great mood. They are proactive and ready to help even without being asked, which we truly appreciated. They became amazing friends with our son Simeon and spent wonderful quality time with him, creating creative games and fun experiments with so much love and dedication. We are very grateful they were part of our family for almost two months, and we would happily welcome them back anytime. We wish them all the best on their journey ahead! 😊✨

Radu and David are a truly wonderful couple and amazing volunteers. They helped us by teaching English to both children and adults, and they did it with great patience, kindness, and positive energy. They created a very friendly and comfortable learning atmosphere. The children really enjoyed their classes, and the adults felt motivated and confident to practice English with them. Beyond teaching, they shared smiles, respect, and a beautiful human spirit with everyone. They are not only good teachers but also very kind, open-minded, and respectful people. We were very happy to host them and to share this experience together. We highly recommend Radu and David to any host. They will always be welcome in our center, and we hope to see them again in the future. Thank you so much for everything

Logan and I loved our experience here. The work was easy and the hosts did a good job of respecting our time off. The hostel has chill vibes with live music. The host even took us to a secret waterfall! We hope to return.

Hélène and Paolo stayed with us last Summer and it was a joy to have them. They are intelligent, humble, curious and responsible young people you can rely on. Also very warm hearted and open to all kinds of talks and sharing. We are very thankful for their engagement and enthusiasm for the daily tasks, in the garden and maintenance. They committed themselves a lot into cooking good food and also preserving. We absolutely recommend these two lovely people. They stayed in our hearts and we wish them all the best.

It was a pleasure to help Eric and Celine. I was here in winter but was very pleasant. The work was enjoyable and physical. Eric dropped me at the coast on my days off. I took in Cannes, Antibes and Nice; I also hiked the mountain trails from the village. I worked mostly independently in their garden with views of the Alps and the valley far below. I am the same age as them so enjoyed staying here despite my not speaking French. I stayed in a new mountain apartment and did almost all of my own meals and they supplied anything I liked to cook. a most interesting stay. Thanks again.

Leo was a week with us - a time that went by very fast because he is an easy going person that brings warmth and joy to a place. With his guitar (and all the other instruments) he transformed our gatherings into parties and celebrations of human connection. Leo is also a hard worker, not shy to go on tasks that are given to him. He gave us a good help with trimming and chain sawing. Leo was very open and warm hearted to the other volunteers, ourselves and our visitors. It’s a pity it was only a short stay. We really recommend him as volunteer and we are happy to welcome him when his path crosses ours again.

Notre expérience chez Sabine était pour nous notre première expérience Workaway. Et nous n'avons pas été déçu DU TOUT ! Sabine est une personne accueillante, très interessante avec un très beau parcours de vie. C'était vraiment enrichissant pour nous d'échanger avec elle, d'apprendre d'elle également. Son mode de vie durable et en harmonie avec la nature nous a conquis. Malgré l'hiver les paysages nous ont subjugué, avec de la neige pour les fêtes en prime ! Nous ne pouvions pas espérer mieux comme première expérience ! Lau & Pau

I spent 3 weeks in December/January, at Litsa’s animal shelter, and it has been a beautiful first workaway experience. Litsa is hardworking and dedicated to helping the animals of Amorgos. She is doing the work alone, with only the help of volunteers, so help is needed here. Although she works a lot, she is attentive and makes time for the volunteers. She brought me along to see Aegiali, and made sure my stay was substantial and fun. She is very including and sweet, and kind to invite me to parties and introduce me to her friends. I’m happy to have met some really cool people, and animals. In the winter the island is not full of people, yet full of soul. Amorgos offers some beautiful hikes, with interesting nature and a history that spans a long time. People here are relaxed and friendly, and time is not so eluding. Thank you, Litsa, for making my first workaway so wonderfully memorable.
