    Description

Looking for volunteers to stay home from july 5th to agust 16th 2025:
We are going to visit our familiy in Switzerland for one month. The only work we ask you to do is taking care of our house and maybe feed farm animals. You are going to enjoy the nature, the forest and the nice river. Write us if you are interested!

We are a guatemalan-swiss family living in the north of Guatemala. We are living with our two childrens: a 7 years old girl and a baby (we would love to welcome other families). We are developing an ecoturistic project. We work in agriculture and in the protection of a natural reserve. We have farm animals too.

The place is very nice, with a river and a natural reserve with a lot of animals, like monkeys, toucans, a lot of birds…

Contact us for more informations and tell us your expectations!

We are looking for volonteers to exchange, share culture and practice languages, to create a place for travellers where they can discover the nature and the mayan culture. The main work will be in the nature (gardening, preparing food for animals, organic agriculture, wood construction…). We will lend you boots to work. If you prefer to work with gloves, please take some with you from the city. You can’t buy them here.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We offer a free price tour in our natural reserve to learn about wild plants, local agriculture and see the animals of the tropical forest. You can access to the river for free to swim, to fish… Of course you are not going to work the day you will arrive and the day you will leave. If you stay two weeks, you will have two days off in between.

We are far away from the city, but it is easy to travel by local bus (3 hours). The closest community is 20 min walk from home. We can come to pick-up in Cubilhuitz, but we will charge you for the diesel 40$.

You will enjoy the nature and the sounds of the animals. The house is far from the city, the accommodation is very basic. We don’t have electricity (only solar) and running water (we use water from the rain or from the river). There are a lot of animals and insectes around the house, like we are in the jungle. You will leave like the guatemalan people leave. If you want a new adventure, come to visit us!
