Thanks for looking at our profile!
We are a travelling couple that until recently were based in Whitehorse, Canada. We visited the Yukon for a workaway in May 2021 and fell in love with the wild open spaces and beauty of the Yukon and made it our home for several years. After a lot of consideration, we've decided that it's now time to move on and seek new experiences.
We plan to travel south in May 2024 in our rusty old van, Mo. Our ultimate goal is to eventually transit the entire Pan-American highway and reach the most southern point in South America accessible by road in Argentina. We do not have a timeline but will be looking for workaway opportunities along the road to meet local people, experience new cultures, practice our Spanish and generally have some great experiences.
We are looking for some interesting workaways that fit with our travel plans. Our experience with workaways and house sitting has always been hugely positive and we often find that we become great friends with those we connect with.
A little bit more about us:
Nikky is a 36 year-old mental health professional, who grew up on a dairy and sheep farm in the UK. She's worked in hospitality in Canada and would love to learn more about the tourism industry. She's not afraid of getting stuck in a loves to learn new skills. She also has a passion for landscape and wildlife photography. Nikky will be continuing to work one day a week during our journey.
Sam is a qualified carpenter from Switzerland. He's a generally all-round handy guy and has a love for all things fishing. He's also a travel lover and spent a year living in New Zealand. Sam is a keen camper and backroad traveler and loves to get out into the bush and away from civilization.
We met whilst on the road in Canada and we've travelled together ever since. We are hardy and down to earth individuals and have spent the last two years living in a dry cabin in the Yukon wilderness, braving the extreme cold with a smile on our faces.
We are experienced pet sitters and members of trustedhousesitters and have previously worked for paid petsitting companies. We are huge animal lovers and experienced in animal care. Nikky has looked after horses and farm animals in the past as she spent time on her grandparents dairy farm in the UK.
We have our own transport and van - our rusty but trusty Mo the van.Interests
