Description
We are an Italian-French couple with 2 children aged 6 years and 4 years old. 5 years ago we took a house in Amelia (province of Terni) with the intention of sharing it in the future with another family. There is an extra large hall where we would like to host or organize events. We are learning little by little how to deal with such
a big land (3 hectares), how to grow vegetables, plant new trees and take care of all of this! We also have around 250 olive trees that we have to maintain in order to produce oil. We did our second harvest last autumn!
We have two cats and one super nice maremma sheperd dog.
Our overall goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible and so there is a lot of things to do and to learn before we can! We also really like the idea of exchanging goods or services in a local network to avoid the traditional consuming system as much as possible.
We really like uplifting and re-use.
Amelia is small but very alive and we discover more and more that the local alternative life is dense.
Regarding us, we are two fairly quiet people, we don't have a steady job and we don't want to have it. We like to do manual things, I am the most artistic part and Mattia the most technical one. We are interested in a lot of things related to personal growth and even if it is not always that easy because we are far from being enlightened, we try to take any occasion to learn more about ourselves. We don't eat meat but fish every now and then. We travel quite often in France and also host family or friends more or less once a year. We have two wonderful and very alive children who particularly love to play outside, play random music with everything that comes to their hands, climbing everywhere, fight and laugh a lot. We traveled a lot in the past and as it became more difficult today with two children, we are very open to different cultures and we also gladly host couples or even families! Our children are now very used to welcome people in their house and they really appreciate people who consider them as important as grown-ups. I think I have said the main things, if you are interested or for other questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Bye!Types of help and learning opportunities

We would be glad to share meals and teach you about Italian or French cooking if you want. Umbria is known as the "green heart of Italia" and we would be happy to help you discover it and why not go around with you!
As french and Italian native speakers, we can help you learn both languages.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
UPDATE: WE CAN HOST YOU IN APRIL AND MAY BUT FROM MAY 5TH FOR 1 WEEK IT WOULD BE IN OUR CAMPERVAN (FIAT DUCATO WELL EQUIPED, FOR YOURSELF OF COURSE) BECAUSE WE HAVE SOME WORKS DONE IN OUR ENTRANCE THAT WON'T ALLOW US TO ENTER THE HOUSE.
Our children are used to meet new people and generally are looking for their attention. We raise them in a quite freely way so they can probably look chaotic to some. They are very funny and friendly though so if you are bothered by children or afraid of communicating (language doesn't matter) or playing with them, this place is not for you!Languages spoken
French: Fluent
Italian: Fluent
English: IntermediateAccommodation
Our house is big and we are able to provide one double bedroom with private bathroom on our floor and an independent big room (for 1,2,3 or 4 people) on the ground floor (in the winter it needs to be heated by a wood stove to manage by yourself), the bathroom is separated but still private (only the washing machine to share)
We provide and cook the meals (without meat) but depending on worked hours or if there is only person working from a whole family, we can ask you to participate to thr food shopping and cooking. We are also happy to taste or learn new recipes if you will to share your cooking skills! What else ...
We are located one kilometers far from the center of Amelia wich is a beautiful small medieval town. Buses are available to reach the main cities around, the station to reach Roma is 20 minutes far. We can bring you.
As we are in the countryside it's obviously easier to travel if you own your own car.A little more information

Thanks again for everything! Hugs from everyone here

They are able to turn any place into paradise, what a pity they didn't stay a little more though! :-)
