    Located on the hip and happening Kloof Street, our hostel is ideally located within walking distance of a variety of parks, restaurants, bars, fashion boutiques, grocery stores, and of course, the famous Long Street! Not forgetting our close proximity to Table Mountain, Lions Head and Signal Hill – with our rooms having spectacular views of them all!

    DAILY ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS:
    Having a scheduled group activity every day of the week guarantees our guest experience will be an exciting adventure! These unique and enjoyable activities are either FREE or available at a minimal cost, giving them (and YOU and a volunteer!) the chance to meet fellow travellers and explore our beautiful city without overspending. Some of which include:

    - FREE yoga classes (yoga mats provided)
    - FREE outdoor movie night
    - Bring n' braai (bbq) night
    - Visit to a local farmers market
    - Group hikes to the top of Table Mountain and Lions Head
    - FREE games nights - Table tennis/ beer pong/ giant jenga etc

    HOSTEL IN-HOUSE TOURS
    For hostel guests only, our in-house adventures provide the perfect opportunity to discover Cape Town while mingling with fellow travellers. Whether you’re interested in exploring local hot spots, laid back wine tours or swimming with penguins (YES, Cape Town has penguins!), we have something for you.

    We have 19 employed and paid staff: 1 in Finance, 1 in Reservations, 2 in Operations, 2 in Public Areas/Maintenance, 5 in Housekeeping, 8 in Reception (day shift as well as overnight Reception).

    Engaging with travellers around the world, and many locals all in one space. We are within close proximity to beaches, mountains and the city life, therefore, it is an opportune place to explore the city on foot. They will also get the opportunity to improve their English should this not be their first language.

    We are looking for talented, outgoing, friendly and fun individuals to assist us in their field of expertise as well as assisting us with our daily activities (volunteer led) and in-house tours (led by a pro, volunteers support).

    These daily activities currently include:

    - Taking guests to a local market
    - Hiking Table Mountain with guests
    - Hiking Lions Head Mountain with guests
    - Assisting with Bring 'n Braai (BBQ) night
    - Assisting with Movie Night
    - Taking guests to watch the sunset on Signal Hill

    *please note the hikes are an important part of a the volunteer's position and often you will hike with guests twice a week. With this in mind, please only apply if you are physically fit, fine with hiking and not afraid of heights (the views are worth the effort though!).

    Should an activity be cancelled (due to bad weather, not enough sign ups etc), you might be asked to support one of our other departments for your shift such as reception or housekeeping.

    Occasionally our volunteers also support our Travel Manager, Phil with a couple of tours that he runs which currently include a Cape Point Tour (think amazing views along one of the most scenic drives in the world and meeting cute African penguins), a Township Tour and a fun Stellenbosch Wine Tour.

    Our volunteers assist us for 5 hours a day (although on some days it might be less and others a little more), 5 days a week in exchange for free accommodation, a food voucher and of course a great experience.

    Shared dormitory. Volunteers will receive a food voucher to make use of at a local Supermarket. This will be given on a monthly basis.

    Centrally located, we are located ideally within walking distance of a variety of parks, First Thursdays (if you don't know what this is, GOOGLE, it's a real vibe and a must do during your stay in Cape Town). restaurants, bars, fashion boutiques, grocery stores, and of course, the famous Long Street! Not forgetting our close proximity to Table Mountain, Lions Head and Signal Hill. We do have an efficient bus system that can get you around town where you can get to the beaches, markets and the Waterfront. Giving you plenty to do on your time off.

    We have plenty of dedicated workspace with free and fast fibre Wi-Fi that works throughout the property. The cafe located on our property is also a chill spot to work while being able to enjoy a good cup of coffee!
