We are an Outdoor Education and Residential Centre in Newcastle, Northern Ireland.
We offer a range of activities which are both fun and challenging whilst helping to develop the individual in terms of self esteem, co-operation, communication and improving leadership skills.
Our activities include: Archery, bouldering, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, laser tag, mountain walks, raft building, outdoor cooking, initiatives, zipline plus many more.
We are looking to recruit Workawayers for our year long positions starting in January 2020.

Each year we recruit between 12-14 international helpers whose main role will be to provide leadership of Outdoor Activities to young people.
LENGTH OF PLACEMENT: 1 Year
AGE: 18 +
HOURS OF WORK: 10-12 sessions per week (Monday - Sunday) . Sessions will take place in the Morning, Afternoon and some Evenings
TWO INTAKES PER YEAR: January & September
WEEKLY SALARY: £65.00 (STERLING) £55.00 per week for Summer Camp
ACCOMMODATION: Self catering accommodation is provided free of charge
TRAINING: Workawayers will undertake a 6 week training programme. The training programme will cover the main areas of work that helpers will undertake throughout their period of employment. Following this period of training, helpers will be given the opportunity to further develop their skills through ongoing training
HELPERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
•Maintaining a personal training log
•Leading a range of activities that support young people to develop and learn as part of the centre programmes
•Undertaking training, as required
•Using the medium of outdoor education and group work supporting young people to reflect on and learn from their experiences as part of programme
•Fulfilling specific operational duties
The accommodation is shared, self catering accommodation. Helpers will make their own meals in their accommodation. Living is free of charge, as all bills including the heating and electricity is paid for by the host. Workawayers get an allowance of £65.00 per week (Year long position) and £55.00 per week (Summer Camp) which they can use to spend on food, outings etc.
During your time off, you will have the opportunity to see more of Northern Ireland/Republic of Ireland. Northern Ireland is located in the north-east of the island of Ireland. It has a population of approximately 1.8 million people. It has a beautiful coastline, with mountains, forests and lakes. The capital is Belfast, a thriving city with lots of attractions including the Titanic museum, City Hall, The Botanic Gardens and much more. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, there are over 20 film locations for you to discover across N.Ireland.
