Description
Hi everyone :)
My name is Miri and I am the very happy owner of a kitesurfing lodge in Cape Town. I am looking for 2 volunteers who would like to stay 2-6 months in high season, and a November volunteer (1 month) to help with murals or web design.
Our house is a place where kitesurfers, digital nomads and yoga lovers come together every year. Many guests stay for several weeks or even months, so you really get to know them and form amazing, life-long connections. The name means home and that's the vibe we're after, everyone who comes through is not just a guest, they're family.
The house is 5 minutes walking distance to the kitesurfing beach and bars/supermarket/restaurants. It has a pool, hammocks, slackline, fireplace, braai and lots more fun to enjoy. For this position you will be staying either in a bed in the 8-dorm or in a tent in the back of the garden (your choice). We do loads of outdoor activities (hiking, vineyards, road-trips, food markets etc), you'll never get bored and it's always a vibe!
Looking forward to meeting you :)
P.S. we have a dog and you will fall in love (once she is done loudly checking whether you're safe..)

Cape Town is simply the best place in the world and I think you'll agree after staying here! You'll never get bored hiking, surfing, kiteboarding, diving, wine tasting, exploring beaches, eating at the countless amazing restaurants, partying and road tripping. Just to name a few.
The house is in the Blouberg area, meaning 20-25 minutes by car from Cape Town centre.
Help
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER
I'm looking for:
- Content creator, we have built a new sauna area and need to get the word out. Build a brand/instagram, take high-quality photos & videos.
- Mural artist, to make the area around the sauna pop!
- Website design. I'd like to do a full overhaul of our website, which is made through WIX
I'm open to shorter stays for this (2-6 weeks)
MAIN SEASON - NOVEMBER to MARCH
I need a couple of right hands to help with check-ins, general running &tidying of the place, admin/errands, maintenance and fun activities. Braai (BBQ), pizza-nights, hikes, kite excursions etc. These positions are for volunteers who are happy to stay a MINIMUM OF 2 MONTHS. Both positions below include these tasks, plus need to be able to do either of the following:
-- Position 1 --
Handyman & general help
Must have pretty solid DIY/maintenance knowledge cause I'm hopeless. I will also ask for a bit of help keeping the garden tidy.
OPEN: November, December, January, February, March
-- Position 2 --
Yoga teacher & general help
I'm looking for someone who is able to teach a solid class. Classes are donation-based, all money is yours to keep. You will be teaching 3-5x a week.
I will also ask for a bit of help keeping the house tidy (no serious cleaning, there is a cleaning lady present every single day).
FULL: November
OPEN: December, January, February, March
Just to be clear, both positions will also be helping with check-ins, errands, and fun activities.
BONUS SKILLS: social media, artists, web-design
This may sounds like a lot, but I promise it's really quite chilled. There are no fixed working hours, we take it as it comes. I 100% encourage you to have all the experiences in Cape Town, we all work together to keep things flexible and fun!

I have fibre internet and some decent spaces to work.

Space for parking camper vans
I have plenty of parking, but it's by the road.

Can possibly accept pets
My dog is territorial so she will give any other animal coming into the house a hard time at first. However, she has lived with lots of different dogs over the years, so it's doable.
