UPDATE: PET SITTING POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED. NOW LOOKING FOR A HOMESCHOOL TEACHER. PLEASE ONLY INQUIRE IF YOU CAN CONSIDER A LONG-TERM EXCHANGE OF 8 MONTHS STARTING MID-JANUARY.

ALSO LOOKING FOR 2 VOLUNTEERS FOR OUR FARM STARTING JANUARY. ANIMAL CARE, GARDENING, PLANTING, HOUSEKEEPING, POTENTIALLY COOKING OR KITCHEN SKILLS REQUIRED. 2 MONTH MINIMUM STAY ONLY!

    Hola!

My name is Angélica. I am looking for an animal-loving soul who would embrace the rainy season in the Costa Rican jungle to care for a couple of fun and sweet dogs, a very entitled cat, and a few fish.

I am also looking for a passionate teacher who would love to break the traditional teaching-learning patterns to connect with my son Juan Pablo (7 years old, going on to second grade) and transmit to him the love to learn by playing in the middle of nature.

I offer comfortable accommodations surrounded by nature on the beautiful Osa Peninsula. The Osa is one of the most biodiverse places on earth. It is a desirable destination for those wishing to connect more deeply with nature and themselves. There are waterfalls, beaches, and trails within walking distance, where you can immerse yourself in nature while still enjoying some modern comforts.

In addition, we own a beautiful and magical farm on acreage about an hour's drive from the beach lodge. It is immersed in the deep jungle right next to Corcovado National Park.

    Help

I need a pet sitter starting the last week of September until mid-November. Preferably 1 person for the whole stay. A couple can be considered.
Work consists of: dog walking daily, and feeding dogs and cat. Bathing dogs once a week. And feeding the fish daily, plus cleaning the fish tank every two weeks.
This person might need to do some hospitality chores, like checking guests in our cabins.

For the teaching position, starting any time in January through September (8-9 months) would be great. Preferably 1 person for the whole time. My son Juan Pablo is very smart, he is 7 years old and will begin second grade. His English level is low, so a bilingual person (some level of Spanish) is preferable. He loves to play, so learning while playing at this age is great. We live in front of the ocean and nestled in nature, so using these resources as part of the school is great.
The person for this position should be a teacher or have some knowledge of pedagogy, especially for children. This person should be able to prepare daily lessons and grade the online system.
Also, this person should enjoy moving around a bit, since Juanpi would sometimes be at the beach, other times at the farm, and occasionally in San José. So the teacher would preferably be ok traveling with us and tagging along. All traveling expenses would be contemplated and included as part of the exchange. We offer good WIFI so any side online job is welcome.

No electric or water hookups so you would need to be self-sustained and no bigger than a large van. You would also need a 4-wheel drive vehicle with good clearance.
