Description
Hello! Bom dia!
We are Charlotte (USA) and Erick (Brazil), an international couple who have spent the last three years living and working as agroforesters at Ecovila Sustentar in São Paulo, Brazil. We have a combined 30 years of volunteer experience in projects around the world, and we pride ourselves in adaptability, reliability, and a job well done. We are skilled workers, experienced in raising animals, growing the ingredients we cook with, building earth homes, installing electric and water systems, and much more. A host will find in us not just helpers, but people who care and protect a place as if it were our own.
Charlotte:
I was born in Oklahoma and earned my degree in English Creative Writing from Colorado State University. Since then, I have worked with reforesting programs, hospitality, and child and elder care across different countries. I have a passion for poetry, cooking, artisanal crafts of all kinds. I am always looking for a beautiful fresh-water lake! I believe the key to every good workaway exchange is clear communication, especially about work expectations, rest, and shared living. Hosts will find that I am candid, apt at what I know, and so very excited to learn what I don't know I don't know.
Erick:
I feel I am a person of many experiences and abilities. From IT technician in São Paulo to earning a degree in cello in Verona--I have also worked as an outdoors tour guide, tutored teenagers at social risk in the city, and also taught as a capoeira instructor. I have years of beekeeping experience, especially with meliponideos (native bees of Brazil), and am lately flourishing taking care of the land through syntropic cultivations and agroforestry.
