    Description

Hi, welcome to our farm in a beautiful valley on the south side of Sierra Nevada, 1 hour away from Granada city and 40 minutes to the beach.
Enjoy traditional Andalusian lifestyle in this valley between the mountains and the coast, where agriculture is still a very important part of daily life. Orgiva is also well know for its community life and alternative lifestyle

At the moment it's more of a "house sitting opportunity" while living in an independent caravan, taking care of simple every day needs, our two cats, and sometimes our dog Kora, but without a big list of tasks to do or a fix set of hours per day.

We are looking to welcome very independent motivated couples or two friends, that can help a few hours per day on their own, as we are not in the farm everyday now. Ideally people who bring their own skillset and experiences, specially in gardening, irrigation, landscaping, stone and wood.
We offer an off grid caravan with an outdoor dry toilet as a living space, where volunteers can have a more independent setup while enjoying hiking in the surroundings, getting to know the are of Órgiva and Sierra Nevada, and spending time in our beautiful farm.

Our property is 2 hectares, irrigated with the traditional system built by the Arabs called acequias.
We have two cats to care for and sometimes our dog Kora, centenary olive trees, orange and lemons, pomegranates, figs, pears, apples, etc.
This spring we focus only on maintenance and daily tasks, doing the irrigation with the tradicional acequia system every Thursday, taking care of the garden, chickens, ducks, cats, and sometimes our dog Kora while we are away, etc.

We will be happy to help you improve or practice your Spanish. We have a good library of books available.
We'd love to teach you our family recipes.

This area is very diverse, with over 60 nationalities living around. A good book to get a deeper understanding of the life of a foreigner here is "Driving over lemons" by Christ Stewart, and is also a fun read.

At the moment it's more of a "house sitting opportunity", taking care of every day needs, our two cats, and sometimes our dog Kora, as well as being available for our guests, but without a big list of tasks to do or a fix set of hours per day. We are looking for people to help us with simple tasks like irrigation, landscaping, or some DIY.

Around the house we usually need help repainting, cleaning and organizing.
Creative minds are welcome too, help painting, upcycling, creating furniture out of scrap wood.

We are looking for self motivated, active people with an uplifting attitude.

We arrange the hours of exchange depending on the skills and needs of the moment. We can't offer food at the moment, for that the hours are adjusted.

In your time off you can go on hikes, bike rides or take a bus to Granada (1 hour) or the coast of Motril (40min).
Órgiva is only 3km away, and you will find an active community of people offering activities such as yoga, meditation, kirtans, ecstatic dance, etc.
In summer you can just chill and swim in the river or on our pool. There's also climbing spots around, horseback riding centers, windsurf and paddle board.
