Volunteering here you will have the opportunity to interact with local people from costa rica, as well as people from all over the world. It is an amazing cultural experience, you will be volunteering alongside our staff, and can practice your Spanish should you want to, but we also speak English. We are like a family here, and we will welcome you as such. Because the volunteer hours are longer, we are able to give you three days off per week, allowing you to travel very much during your stay. We work closely with our volunteers to make sure you have all of the information you need to explore this amazing country and experience all that Costa Rica has to offer.

  • Help

Help in our garden , dealing with clients at the front desk, general maintenance around the hostal, making bunk beds, and private beds, cleaning up and organizing the common areas, painting, going out and advertising our brochures, going to the bank.

We are located in a great location, both close to the airport and most major bus terminals, as well as a short walk to the downtown area. Because of this we often get travelers staying only one night between buses or flights. There are a lot of beds to change in the mornings!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Here at the Hostel we are located in a 100 year old Victorian house - as with all old houses things are not brand new and sometimes things do not work, but we are constantly making changes - we have different updates planned for our amenities, that are always making improvements with the assistance of comments like yours and from our guests. Our hostel is all about the warm and chill environment. We aim to be environmentally friendly so there is a schedule in place for hot water, a few hours in the morning and a few hours at night. In addition, we make full use of all of the windows for natural light instead of relying on electric bulbs.

It´s important to remember San Jose is the capital city of Costa Rica - here you will find sounds of cars and buses in the morning instead of animals. If you are a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs! But if you love the city and are happy with the 3 days off to explore the coast then this may be the perfect place for you :) We think it´s very important for volunteers to have the right expectations so they are very happy with their stay with us. If you are easy going, and can go with the flow, come join our little family here!
