Description
In a corner of Eastern Tuscany you can find a modern temple to the ancient Mother Goddess. Volunteers are invited to spend three weeks or more here with indoor and outdoor tasks in a rural environment and to study and share planet friendly skills and philosophies. We only ask that you don't smoke on the property, try to rest your phone a bit and leave anger and anxiety at our gates.
Activities here include herb lore, sustainable horticulture, Reichian full body breathing, forest dreaming, yoga, massage and animal care. You are invited to share our understanding of the Mother Goddess and a planet friendly philosophy through readings, walks and discussion circles.
Other activities include mending, repurposing, hiking, music making, food preparation, wild foods.
Our slogan is 'Heal the land, heal yourself'.
JUNE 2025
In the afternoons and open to volunteers Polish witch, Phytotherapist, and Folk Herbalist Aga Kilian (Kidush) will run ten workshops on plant spirits, land communication, herbal medicine, and plant consciousness. Workaway host Nev Raymondo will host sessions on the Mother Goddess Philosophy of living sustainably and happily on a beautiful but injured planet. Contact us for a detailed programme and dates! We are part of village life so you can interact with friendly people and learn about new and old ways of living in the Italian countryside. We have an on-going philosophical and art project to celebrate and spread the Mother Goddess idea as an alternative to selfish, disembodied modern life.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
As we are in large rural buildings, and have land and trees to look after any help is welcome. It would be great if you could go down to the local markets and do some shopping and help look after our animals, a Borzoi dog and three cats, brushing and taking for walks. PLEASE BRING STRONG SHOES OR BOOTS FOR WORKING AND WALKING IN THE WOODLANDS.

Of this workaway experience I could tell for hours how amazing is the location. Living in an actual tower, in the middle of nature, with dogs and cats waiting for your company is priceless. You could stay hours only to look at the landscape of the mountains.

The area around the house is also very beautiful and the work wasn’t that hard! All around : It was great!!!
The area was just stunning with great hiking trails, old monasteries and rivers. Ray is a lovely English man, very knowledgeable and helpful. Merci beaucoup Ray
Ray was always great: interesting person with whom it's easy to feel comfortable all time.
The work was very simple and the animals to take care were lovely (specially Sibi, the russian dog).
The neighbors were the kindest.
Will miss the place!
È stata una grande opportunità per mettere in pratica quello che avevo imparato fino ad allora.
