  Hello lovely people from all over the world!
  
  We would like to give you the opportunity to visit the Thuringian Forest in the green heart of Germany.
  
  We are a young and growing non-profit nature conservation organization. We work together for our environment and implement a lot of different projects.
  
  We are seated on a little mountain in a forest hut where we live and work from approximately March till November.
  In the spring and summer months we mostly stay at our forest hut where one can always find things to do. We work for instance, along with other tasks, on a nature education path which is situated close to our rustic forest hut (which also functions as our club house).
  We also have a garden, which we want to transform into a permaculture garden. Furthermore we are planning to build a greenhouse to become more self-sufficient.
  
  In fall our apple harvest season starts. We own various meadow orchards which we regularly maintain and where we harvest apples in the fall season.
  During that time we are quite busy with driving to the different harvest locations and producing our apple juice at our cider maker which is located in a nearby village.
  We do that with the help of a traditional 80 year old cider press.
  With the money made and donations we finance our nature conservation projects. Those are along with others the maintenance of old meadow orchard, trash collecting actions and project days with schools. Moreover we plant meadow orchard and mix forest stands in the region.
  Our main projects at the moment are project days at schools which take place during all months.
  We built a mobile recycling machine with which we drive from school to school and educate and create awareness about our todays problematic with plastic.
  
  Our forest hut has a cozy furnishing and serves as a communal sleeping place for our guests as well as us. We prefer the simple way of live with poor connection and no TV and we use a compost toilette.
  The region is very rural and gives a direct inside of the typical German village live.
  Aside of work there are plenty of activities one can do in nature.
  In our close surrounding you can find plenty of hiking tours in our green mountain area with breathtaking views. Through a beautiful approximately 2 hour long hike you get to a beautiful lake where you can swim and refresh.
  The area around our forest hut is a slate mining area where you get the possibility to visit abandoned mines.
  Also if you like climbing and mountain biking you will have the possibility to do so.
  If you are interested in the field of forestry you could get the chance to learn some new things here.
  
  We always have a lot of things to do and we are thankful for every helping hand.
  We are a group of people who want to live with nature and enjoy every day with an open heart.

  Hallo liebe Menschen aus aller Welt!
  
  Wir möchten euch die Möglichkeit bieten uns im Thüringer Wald, im grünen Herzen von Deutschland, besuchen zu kommen.
  
  Wir sind eine junge, wachsende gemeinnützige Naturschutzorganisation.
  Wir setzten uns gemeinsam für unsere Umwelt ein und verwirklichen viele verschiedene Projekte.
  
  Unser Sitz befindet sich auf einem kleinen Berg in einer Waldhütte, wo wir von ca. März bis November leben und arbeiten.
  In den Frühlings- und Sommermonaten sind wir vor allem bei der Waldhütte. Hier gibt es immer eine Menge großer und kleiner Aufgaben zu erledigen. So arbeiten wir, unter anderem, an einem Naturlehrpfad, welcher sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zu unserer Waldhütte (auch unser Vereinshaus) befindet.
  Weiterhin haben wir einen Garten den wir in einen großzügigen Permakulturgarten wandeln wollen. Auch planen wir ein Gewächshaus zu bauen, um eine stückweite Selbstversorgung zu ermöglichen.
  Wir verfügen über eine Vielzahl von Streuobstwiesen, welche wir regelmäßig pflegen und im Herbst Äpfel ernten.
  Im Herbst sind wir an unterschiedlichsten Streuobstwiesen im Einsatz und verbringen viel Zeit bei unserer Mosterei, welche sich in einem nahegelegenen Dorf befindet.
  Neben der Apfelernte findet eine traditionelle Saftproduktion mit Hilfe einer 80 Jahre alten Korbpresse statt.
  Mit dem Erlös von unserem Apfelsaft und Spenden finanzieren wir unsere Naturschutzprojekte. Bei denen handelt es sich z.B. um die Pflege von alten Streuobstwiesen, Müllsammelaktionen, Wildniscamps und Projekttage an Schulen. Weiterhin pflanzen wir auch neue Streuobstwiesen und Mischwälder in der Region.
  Unser Hauptprojekt, welches sich über alle Monate erstreckt, sind derzeit Projekttage an Schulen.
  Wir haben eine mobile Recycle-Anlage konstruiert mit welcher wir von Schule zu Schule fahren und Aufklärungsunterricht über unser heutiges Kunststoffproblem gestalten.
  
  Unsere Waldhütte ist gemütlich eingerichtet und dient als Gemeinschaftsunterkunft für unsere Gäste und uns.
  Wir bevorzugen das einfache Leben, deswegen gibt es hier nur beschränkt Internet und kein TV. Wir nutzen eine Komposttoilette und Außendusche.
  Die Gegend ist sehr ländlich und gibt einen direkten Einblick in das typische Leben auf dem Dorf in Deutschland. Neben der Arbeit gibt es hier viele schöne Möglichkeiten seine Freizeit in der Natur zu verbringen.
  In unserer Umgebung gibt es hunderte von Wanderwegen mit beindruckenden Aussichten auf eine grüne Berglandschaft. Durch eine schöne ca. zweistündige Wanderung gelangt ihr an einen großen See in dem ihr euch erfrischen und schwimmen könnt.
  Unser Gebiet ist ein Schieferabbaugebiet und es ist möglich alte verlassene Minen zu besichtigen. Auch für Kletterer und Mountainbike Freunde gibt es hier viel zu entdecken.
  Bei Interesse besteht auch die Möglichkeit sich zum Thema Forst weiterzubilden.
  
  Bei uns gibt es immer viel zu tun, wobei wir uns über jede helfende Hand freuen.
  Wir sind Menschen, die mit der Natur leben möchten und mit offenen Herzen jeden Tag genießen.

  Accommodation

  The hut in the forest, where you will be accommodated, is designed for 6 people. It is lovingly furnished and is located on a mountain in the middle of the forest, so you can only reach it by jeep or on foot. Here you can relax very well by watching birds, foxes, squirrels and many other inhabitants of the Thuringian Forest. In the evening we usually sit around the campfire and make music.
  The shower is outside and heated with fire.
  
  Die Hütte im Wald, in welcher ihr untergebracht werdet, ist für 6 Personen ausgelegt. Sie ist liebevoll eingerichtet und befindet sich auf einem Berg mitten im Wald, sodass man sie nur mit einem Jeep oder zu Fuß erreichen kann. Hier kann man sehr gut zur Ruhe kommen indem man Vögel, Füchse, Eichhörnchen und viele andere Bewohner des Thüringer Waldes beobachtet. Abends sitzen wir meistens gemütlich in der Runde am Lagerfeuer und machen Musik.
  Eine mit Feuer beiheizte Außendusche und eine Komposttoilette gehören zum Leben in der Waldhütte.

  Bei uns müsst ihr euch selbst mit Essen verpflegen. Dafür limitiert sich die Arbeitszeit auf circa 15 Stunden in der Woche.
