Looking for One or Two Workawayers – Starting Now!
We’re currently looking for one or two wonderful Workawayers to join us for 1–3 months (or possibly longer) starting as soon as possible. Our main priority is support with daily cooking, cleaning and chores as we prepare our home for sale.
A second Workawayer may be welcomed to help with repairs, maintenance, and landscaping tasks around the house. We’re looking for cheerful, experienced, and reliable folks who enjoy these kinds of hands-on projects and are happy to contribute where needed.
Who We Are
We’re Elinor and Brenden, two counsellors in our mid-40s living in a charming heritage home in the heart of Fernwood, Victoria BC, along with our 17-year-old daughter Gaïa and our sweet little dog, Poppy. Ours is an international household—with ties to Australia, the USA, Canada, and France—and we value warmth, curiosity, and open-mindedness. Two of us are Christian, one is not, and we appreciate and respect our differences.
We're a busy family of entrepreneurs, and right now life is full! So while we love meeting Workawayers and have had the joy of hosting about 20 guests over the years, our time will be limited over the coming months. Because of that, we’re especially looking for independent, self-motivated individuals who are comfortable settling in, managing their time well, and exploring Victoria on their own. While we’re happy to offer occasional recommendations and guidance, this won’t be a highly social or host-led setting day-to-day.
What’s Included
-A private bedroom (basement, lovely and spacious but lower ceilings) (for the primary Workawayer helping with home tasks)
-Access to a hot tub and garden space
-For a second Workawayer (helping with manual/outdoor work), a private bedroom at a nearby apartment just down the street (at Elinor’s father’s place)
-Access to a bike, and occasional use of a vehicle may be possible
Just steps away from Fernwood cafes, shops, and a pub, and a short walk to downtown Victoria
We’re relaxed and friendly people who work hard and enjoy good company—but at the moment we need folks who are ready to jump in, contribute meaningfully, and enjoy their time in Victoria independently.
If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you!
Tell us about yourself, your skills, and what you're looking for in a Workaway experience.

I felt confortable. I spent a great time with them, talking french, cooking, walking with dog, speaking english with Elinor, the garden... Thank you for this opportunity and your patience in english with me !
I was a pleasure to meet and help Elinor with her new project.
It was something new for me that she simply accepted me without any expactations.
I felt like a member of family.
Thank you to Gaia for teaching the piano and violin!
