    Description

    We have been hosting workawayers since February 2015. This is why our profile is so detailed!

    =================================
    PLEASE READ OUR PROFILE CAREFULLY, and ask questions if you have any further clarification.

    You must:
    - not be a smoker
    - not have a special dietary needs (eg. not gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan)
    - not be allergic to cats (we have two indoor-only cats)
    - read and understand all details in our profile as it contains our expectations of you in our home

    NOTE:
    1. We can only accommodate singles at this time, not couples.
    2. We value good communication. Not replying to our messages may result in us offering your dates to another workawayer instead.
    3. We are a busy family home (not an airbnb or hostel) and rely on the dates you commit to stay with us. If you want to change your dates last minute, your stay will be cancelled with appropriate feedback added to your profile.

    =================================

    We are a busy family of four with two gorgeous girls 11-year-old and 8-year-old old. We live in a modern air-conditioned (plus ceiling fan) split-level townhouse that is centrally located only 7km from inner Sydney's main business/shopping district (CBD) with direct public transport on our doorstep.

    We are both very busy professionals. Daniel works in IT while I (Helen) currently work long hours in digital/web development. While work is important to us, family time is even more important. That's where you come in.

    As a workawayer, you will be making our lives easier so we get to spend quality time with the kids and not stress about maintaining this home. We love to go exploring Sydney as a family and spend time outdoors - at beaches, and national parks and we go camping over the summer months (which you're welcome to join us). We also like a wide range of foods and I have my own recipe blog as I love to cook... but I'm also happy if someone wants to take over the kitchen and cook for us!

  • Help

    Help

    Work is varied. It depends on the time of year and what is a priority for us at the time. We need help with:

    - Collecting and dropping off kids to school and/or after-school activities (eg. netball, swimming, choir).
    - House cleaning such as vacuuming, mopping floors, tidying up.
    - Clothes washing and folding.
    - Washing cars (with assistance from our two girls of course!)
    - Other cleaning duties (eg. fridge, walls, pantry, oven, etc)
    - Updating the inside of our three bedroom townhouse with fresh paint (ceiling, walls, doors, windows, and stairs)
    - Potted garden maintenance (eg. weeding and watering)
    - Feeding our cats and cleaning out their kitty litter trays.

    We are flexible enough with any long-term stay workawayer to give numerous days off to explore greater NSW.

    We expect open communication as rely on workawayers to look after our two children. If you have a question, are running late to pick up the kids, aren't home for dinner, or are concerned about something we want you to message us straight away.

    You are not required to drive. Everything is in walking distance. We also have bikes to get around which you can use while staying with us.

    NOTE:
    Doing dishes and cleaning up after breakfast and dinner are not included in your hours. This is what we would expect ANY guest staying with us in our busy family to do. You would also do this if you stayed in a hostel/backpackers. If you don't like this, please don't apply to stay with us.

    The Sydney CDB is only 7km away which you can walk or take direct public transport there. The 438 and 438N bus goes past our home with a bus stop close to our house - this takes you into the city. Going the other way, the same bus takes you to the ferry at Abbotsford wharf.
