I had a lovely stay at this beautiful home north of Sydney at the edge of Ku Ring Gai National Park in April this year. The accommodation was clean, cozy and had everything I needed. I was also very well taken care of when it came to food . I never went hungry and really appreciated the generous kitchen setup. So be careful if you are on a diet

The work itself was light and easy to manage, ranging from basic carpentry tasks, basic gardening to cleaning in- and outdoors. All clearly communicated and done at a relaxed pace. Communication in general was smooth and kind. I always felt comfortable asking questions or sharing thoughts.
Although Melanie and Don weren’t around much during my stay, I had the pleasure of spending time with their wonderful friend Chris, who made sure I felt welcome and was great company throughout. Thank you Chris!
The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature with the National Park about a 30minute walk away, a beautiful escape for anyone who enjoys hiking or quiet time in the bush. That said, it is a bit remote and not easily accessible without a car. Public transport exists but my only trip to Sydney CBD took longer than my actual stay in town and without your own vehicle, you might find it difficult or too time-consuming to explore the area or head into the city.
The property description mentioned access to a spa, sauna, and pool, but unfortunately these weren't available during my stay. It wasn’t a big issue, but I believe it's helpful for future Workawayers to know.
All in all, I’m grateful for the opportunity to stay in this home and contribute a little. The warm words they wrote about me in return truly reflect the open and respectful energy that existed in this exchange and I’m happy we got to connect – thank you again for having me!Left by host for Workawayer (Nadine)

Don & Melanie are great hosts !! Our stay at their house in Sydney was truly amazing ! The work they asked us to do was fun, mainly gardening. They were clear about expectations, and the tasks felt like a hobby rather than like a chore. It was rewarding to contribute and see the results of our efforts..
One other cool thing of our stay was their dogs—they were so kind, friendly, and fun to be around! Whether it was a wagging tail greeting us in the morning or playful antics during the day, their furry companions added so much warmth and joy to the experience.
The house itself was stunning, both inside and out. It’s in a fantastic location, surrounded by beautiful scenery, with easy access to everything we needed. Waking up every day to such a gorgeous setting was an absolute treat and made our stay even more special.
Don and Melanie also struck the perfect balance between being welcoming and respecting our privacy. We always felt comfortable and had plenty of space to relax and enjoy ourselves.
