I am Sovannarith, founder and director of this charity academy located in the countryside near Siem Reap. I speak English and want to educate our children with a key focus on language skills and computer skills to give them a better chance in the future. I believe it is very important to help our children to be successful, I also run a food program once a month to provide food for the poor and unable. I hope with extra funding this organization will be able to grow and expand reaching out to more children, providing vocational training, community development and extra lessons.
I have been teaching here for a number of years but am in need of volunteers to help this project grow, anyone who would like to come and support me or teach other languages to the children are very welcome we have classrooms where most of our lessons take place, this is where you can teach the children. We teach young children in the morning from 8 until 10:30am, we teach young adult students at 2pm until 6:30 pm.
I accept volunteers who wish to do short stay or long stay though long stay is preferred. I would be happy to give you a tour of our school at any time.
In addition to this, a certificate is provided as proof of involvement with the school and I can be used as a reference for any teaching jobs you may want to apply for in the future. The school is the ideal place as a starting point for anyone holding a TEFL certificate as it offers the opportunity to practice teaching skills and classroom management, although we do welcome anyone to join - whether you have any prior experience/teaching certificate or not.
Accommodation is provided in Lolei community with a Cambodian family along with three meals a day, I do ask for a contribution of $5 dollars a day towards food costs. I welcome all volunteers and look forward to meeting you.
We welcome smokers and non-smokers alike but smoking is not allowed inside the house. And I would like to announce that all volunteers should bring a passport photo and tell the exact date of your doing volunteer work here and I would like you write the date that you want to volunteer, your name and country on your subject email. Ex. ( 1-2-17- 20-2-17, Gaspard-France). It will be easier for me to manage the Volunteer Schedule. Thanks for your reading and understanding!

As a volunteer, travelers will learn about Cambodia culture and customs, as well as have the opportunity to help children learn. Often, there are many students but not enough teachers. Volunteers can increase their overall teaching skills and have the perspective from being involved in teaching in an area where there is poverty. In addition, volunteers can learn how to fix and build homes, and know that families in need are being helped.
We are in need of up to 6 volunteers at the time for ideally at least one week (but will accept volunteers that can only come visit for the day) and as long as desired. We welcome volunteers that can speak any other language aside from English, web designer in Word press and Carpenter making chair, table, and bench (Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Korean, Italian, etc.) as there are tourists that come here to visit and speak those languages.
Khmer, English, Chinese
Volunteers will be provided homestay for the duration of the program with someone from the village.
Volunteers can visit the many sights around Siem Reap including the Angkor temples, local markets, as well other villages near town. Tourism is high so it is easy to meet many people from other countries as well to make friends while here. It is very inexpensive to take local tuk tuks around all of Siem Reap or buses to other cities like Phnom Penh.
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers

Maximum 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week
In developing countries (Where most hosts are involved in charity work or community development) some of our hosts may ask for a small donation to help the host family or charity (often less then 5 dollars per day) Workaway will allow this listing when the donation goes directly to the family or charity and is just to cover the cost of the volunteer‘s stay. (This will be clearly marked on the host listing).
We will strictly not allow listings posted by agents, “middle men” or projects who we feel are looking to profit from a volunteers stay.
