You can learn what life on an acreage in the forest looks like and what a Canadian winter is like in the countryside. We could teach you what we know about our natural environment and share some outdoor adventures with you.

Help
Come stay with us in the beautiful Blaeberry area, just outside Golden, BC . This winter we're mainly looking for help with childcare and general help around the house and property. We are a family of 3 (Anna, Caspar and 7 year old Felix), living on a forested acreage where we recently built a small house. We have a busy life between work, studying and homeschooling, while also enjoying time in our amazing mountains whenever we can.
We are looking for a person who is passionate about children and ideally has experience in childcare or education. You would spend time with Felix doing fun science, art or outdoor projects, support his homeschooling work and take him to playdates or other activities. We expect approximately 15 hours of help per week per person. We would occasionally have a family dinner, but would otherwise ask you to provide your own food. If you're into cooking or baking we surely can expand the shared meals :-)
If you come with a friend or partner, we would try to keep you both busy for the remaining hours with tasks such as snow plowing, fire wood chopping, running Town chores like shopping and similar things.
We would love to host people who are enthusiastic and have a passion for the outdoors. In our free time we love to rock-climb, mountain bike, hike, fish, camp, canoe and ski in the winter and would happily show you around our amazing backyard! We would love to welcome you here and share this wonderful place with you.

Accommodation
We have a full sized school bus that we transformed into a house on wheels.
The bus is fully equipped with a queen sized bed, a full kitchen, table and couch. It has running water and great wifi. A few steps away from the bus is our washhouse with a shower, sink, toilet and laundry facility. The bus is primarily heated by a wood stove. It can be the cosiest space in the winter but requires more upkeep and maintenance than a regular house.
What else ...
Golden, BC is beautifully located just outside the Rocky Mountain National Parks and offers a ton of outdoor adventures like skiing/snowboarding, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, camping etc. The town itself has everything you need and is home to a great community of people. Golden has several cute cafes, great restaurants, a farmers market, an awesome bouldering gym and much more!
We would love to show you around our beautiful mountain backyard or give you ideas of what to do in your free time.
Since our property is 12km outside of Golden (ca 15min drive) and there is no public transport available, having your own vehicle is highly recommended.
We are looking for help starting in October 2025.
