Description
Hello fellow rainbow warriors! We are currently looking for a couple of long term house and pet sitters that can be independent for travel( ie have their own vehicle or be able to walk, hitchhike, taxi, or bus). We will not be providing food. There will be local workers onsite doing the work everyday but Sunday. Pet care will therefore only be required on Sunday.
My purpose is to regreen, regenerate, rescue animals, create and maintain a tropical food forest, harvest and eat healthy mostly raw, organic vegan food, invite and host people to my green roof eco-dome rental cottage. I strive to walk my talk and be as coherent with my actions as I am with my words. I’m not perfect, but I strive to do as little harm as possible while giving back to mother Earth as much as I can. Nature and respect of my body, which houses my soul, are my guiding lights.
“When the Earth is ravaged and the animals are dying, a new tribe of people will come unto the Earth from many colors, classes, creeds, and who by their actions and deeds shall make the Earth green again. They shall be known as “Warriors of the rainbow”. Old native American prophecy..
We want to exchange with people devoted to peaceful planetary sharing. Here’s a quote that best describes my philosophy: “I honestly believe human beings are not meant to live like this. We are meant to live in loving communities and be around nature every day and grow our own food and not work day and night until we die. This longing for another life is not human nature, it’s a symptom of modern society.” ( author unknown).
Here are some other details to consider: although cannabis is medicinal, we cannot have any type of smoking, including incense or candles on our property as Phil is asthmatic. We are 4 kms away from public transport. We are generally early to bed people and the needs of our animals require that we get up early too. We live in a food forest surrounded by abundant flora and wildlife of all types. Here, it is always important to verify every surrounding for biting creatures that might try to defend themselves against you. That being said, it is surprisingly mosquito free as the rich biodiversity does not allow them to get to swarm proportions. Also, we and many of our neighbors have lived long healthy lives in this part of the world, which does require certain lifestyle habits, but it is, in our opinion, as much a paradise as anybody can hope for . Humans are a part of nature and staying with us will hopefully help people reconnect with their true nature. Please note that we are people that live in the real world with its problems and its beauty. We believe our animals also live in the present moment and have very important physical needs that we try to meet as best we can. This work is principally done two hours in the morning at the latest 6:30am and two hours in the afternoon at the earliest 3:30. If you express a desire to work with the animals, we expect the physical work of feeding, cleaning etc. Finally, we don’t consider making one’s own food or cleaning up after oneself in a timely fashion to be anything other than a part of life and therefore, not a part of the work exchange we want. We are not obsessively clean, but we do have relatively high standards of cleanliness, especially the common areas, but also the private rooms because it is very humid in the tropics. Things go moldy and bad very quickly without regular maintenance and cleaning. It is very disheartening to clean up a rotting bag of food under the bed or very humid, moldy sheets after a workawayer when they leave for their days off or leave permanently. Please come prepared to help, not add to our workload🦋🍉✌️.Types of help and learning opportunities
