We welcome helpers, age 21 years upwards, to work alongside us to help in the daily running of our bed and breakfast. We require a minimum of one month commitment, with the opportunity to extend into the winter months. You must be outgoing, energetic, hardworking and have fluent English. The expected amount of help is 25 hours a week. Any additional hours worked the individual will be compensated. Helping in our bed and breakfast require you to clean and we expect attention to detail in doing so.
We would love to have a responsible individual we can train into the management of the guest house. If this is something that you have been thinking of doing then this is definitely a good way to see how a guest house is organised and run. Denis is the owner live and his adult kids visit at the weekends. Delphine is the manager. And there is currently one part- time worker employed. Denis is also a qualified walking group leader, in off season months will take you on routes and teach you map reading .
Workawayers who maybe planning to go into activity tourism this could be your start.
We are looking for 1 person to help us during the summer, starting June to the end of August. Tasks would be to help serving breakfast in the morning and then cleaning the rooms and some ironing. You will have a twin room to share and your food will be provided. 2 days off per week, but not always at the weekend, depending on how the BnB is busy. You will have time in the afternoon to explore the area. If you like hiking, we are on the Beara Way. Just take the ferry and go on Bere Island or the cable car to go on Dursey Island.
We are also looking for 1 person to help us running the BnB during the winter season, starting September to December or January depending on how long you are available. The idea is to train the person for the month of September (and make you discover the Beara peninsula during your free time) and then this person should be able to work in autonomy for few weeks as the winter season is usually less busy but still great if you would like to improve skills in hospitality and tourism area. Tasks would be welcoming guests, check-in and check-out, cooking breakfast, some shopping and check with the suppliers, taking reservations by phone or email or through booking agents, minding Denis lovely dog when he is around, maybe sometimes give a hand to the girls who work here to clean the rooms, and above all, make all the guests feel just like home during their stay. Do not hesitate if you have any question regarding that offer.
If you are interested in one of those 2 positions, feel free to contact us.
Looking forward to meeting you in West Cork.
