Description
I plan on visiting Ireland throughout April until mid May. I have a career-related conference settled in Dublin from April 24th to 27th, but other than that, I am looking forward to exploring and discovering what the country has to offer! I want to settle for slightly longer in one spot (2 weeks approximately) and get to live with locals.

Why am I on workaway? What I love most is to try things I've never tried before in order to get out of my comfort zone. Going to places I've never been to, eating things I've never eaten before, name them all.

People around me usually describe me as an independent, open minded and enthusiastic (with a bit of sass) human being! I have to say that I am also easy going, and I usually get along with everyone.

I have several hobbies, such as running, the outdoors in general, reading and writing, thrift shopping, trying out different cafés, going to concerts, etc. I have a wide range of interests and i hope I can meet like-minded individuals who love to try out different activities and get out of their comfort zone!

First off I need to mention that this Workaway is hands down one of the best that I have experienced so far. What is described on the profile truly is what you get, and I am super grateful that Sandra and Walt could host me for a full month. They are both super patient, and if you have any interest in their travels, they will for sure be pleased… read more to share some anecdotes and experiences. The same goes for cooking, as a lot of fruits and green leafy veggies grow on the property. Nothing beats Sandra's Indian food I promise.

Now moving on to the working part. The day usually started off walking the dogs, Mack and Mailey (whom I already miss). Needless to say that if you are not a dog person, this Workaway probably is not for you. Typically after the walk I would clean the kitchen, and then do other chores like sweeping, vacuuming, doing the laundry, or just whatever needs to be done around the house that day. If you're a person that hates cleaning and needs thrilling, physical work, then again, this Workaway might not be the best fit. I however greatly enjoyed my time spent in the kitchen learning from Sandra, and walking the doggos. In terms of Work days, it truly is what is stated on the profile, but Sandra and Walt are super accomodating, and if one needs a specific day off, there is not any problem. Overall none of the work I have done was physically challenging, yet it has to be taken seriously to meet expectations.

As for living arrangements, this is where it gets amazing and a change from most Workaways I have done before. There is a building on the yard which has 2 levels; therefore, two kitchens, two bathrooms, and several beds. That really made me happy, as prior to my arrival I thought I would be by myself the whole month. For about 2 weeks I was with a lovely couple, and then the next two weeks two other girls joined our group.

What I can recommend for anyone choosing to stay with Sandra and Walt is to not be afraid to ask questions, and particularly to repeat if some task was hard for you to understand. They both are very patient and understanding individuals, who get it that English is not everyone's first language. Also, I'd recommend leaving your sensitivity back home: this couple has a hilarious dry humour, which is exactly my kind of humour, so I laughed a lot with Sandra.

My stay on Kauai was for sure very special and unforgettable, and I am more than glad that I decided to stay a whole month to truly sink in the garden isle's beauty. I have not even been to the other islands and I believe what I've been told since day 1: Kauai is the best island.

You will be asked to help with the neighbourhood kids on Thursday and Friday, end of the afternoon. Tim is a very generous and spiritual man. The help he asks for is fair and easily manageable. His house is greatly located, right in the downtown as he mentions on his profile. I enjoyed my stay and was glad I couls go to beaches and explore PEI.
