We came as a couple for 6 weeks to Mount Horeb and it was a crazy experience! We learned how to do lots of things with bamboo and met some great people. A big thank you to Mélissa for her guidance, and especially to Nick who looked after us on site. He always made us feel at home and looked after us every day! So, if you're open-minded and love nature, go for it! We came back to France with our heads full of memories and our hearts full of people. A simple recommendation: take a large dose of mosquito repellent with you, as mosquitoes are very prevalent and can transmit diseases. See you soon Mélissa and Nick :)

I had a truly amazing experience with this Workaway host. I only wish I could have stayed longer, but unfortunately, my visa was running out. ​The host, Ghassab, is an honest, kind, and incredibly warm person. He is always ready to communicate and is a wonderful conversationalist. The entire family is wonderful and treats you like one of their own. ​A typical day involved taking the goats out to graze. I had the pleasure of following Ghassab's mother, Nora, on treks along various, scenic routes through the mountains. Every walk was enjoyable and breathtaking. The goat herding itself was not difficult, as the breaks were appropriate and well-timed. The only challenge is getting used to the early wake-up call! ​Dinner with Ghassab's family was always a delightful occasion. Ghassab's sister is an excellent cook; her dishes were delicious every night, allowing me to experience authentic Bedouin home-cooked meals. ​If you are considering this Workaway and are prepared for the work, I would wholeheartedly recommend staying with Ghassab. I wish all the best to everyone I met there.

Ich habe zwei wundervolle Wochen bei Andrea, TiLO, LiWi und ROBiN auf der Rigi verbracht und jeden Tag davon genossen. Andrea hat mich mit viel Wärme und Herzlichkeit in ihrem Zuhause empfangen und die Zeit trotz nebligem, kühlem Wetter zu einer tollen Erfahrung gemacht. Highlight war es nach den ersten Tagen in den Wolken endlich die beeindruckende Berglandschaft in der sie wohnt sehen zu können! Während meiner Zeit bei ihr haben wir gemeinsam anstehende Arbeiten für den Winter rund um Haus und Stall erledigt und durch unsere gute Kommunikation und gegenseitige Rücksichtnahme ging die Arbeit leicht und schnell von der Hand. Auch TiLO hat die Spaziergänge mit mir durch Nebel und die ersten fallenden Schneeflocken tapfer mitgemacht und es hat mir viel Freude bereitet mich neben der Arbeit mit Andrea auch um ihn und die beiden Esel zu kümmern. Gleichzeitig blieb neben der Arbeit genügend Zeit für Wanderungen, gemütliche Abende am Kamin mit gutem Essen und fröhlichen Gesprächen und um die Ruhe auf dem Berg zu genießen. Ich werde an die zwei Wochen bei Andrea mit Freude zurückdenken und kann es nur weiterempfehlen Zeit bei ihr zu verbringen!

Our time with this family was wonderful! We spent 2 weeks at their place and we really enjoyed it. Stella made us feel comfortable from the first moment on and after a short time it felt so natural to live with them. Lou and Auri have so much energy - they are always outside and we loved to be with them. Alberto has a huge collection of games, so in the evenings we were often playing together and we got to know a lot of new board games. We also had our own bikes so we could explore Locarno and the area. Our main task was to help them moving to their new home. We were cleaning, moving some furniture and bringing stuff in their new apartment. But we were also watering the plants in the garden, harvesting a lot of fruits and vegetables (which were used for amazing meals afterwards), sanding some stuff and taking care of the kids sometimes. Mostly we worked in the mornings, but the working hours were very flexible. Thank you so much for everything!! For your warm welcome, the funny game nights, the delicious meals, the beautiful weekend trip, the exciting bike race and so much more. We really enjoyed the time with you lovely, funny and amazing people. Take care and we hope we can come back one day :) <3

Recientemente he estado en el alojamiento de Sybille y lo recomiendo 100 % si eres una persona a la que le gusta la tranquilidad y soledad ya que tendrás de ambas cosas la mayoría del tiempo La ayuda solicitada es asequible ,variada y clara ,se comunica muy bien y si algo no lo tienes claro no duda en explicártelo ,Sybille es una persona muy amable y clara con lo necesita . El espacio es precioso y transmite muchísima tranquilidad y está muy bien ubicado ,tienes paradas de autobús cerca para poder moverte e ir a el cotillo en unos 15 min si te gusta el mar,que tiene unos atardeceres preciosos y si te gusta andar puedes hacer una ruta que está cerca y ver desde lo alto de un volcán la isla de Lanzarote o hacer diferentes actividades en el pueblo de Lajares. Muchas gracias Sylbille por acogerme en tu remanso de paz y tranquilidad ,enseñarme cosas sobre las plantas, dejar que hiciera actividades diferentes y las comidas tan ricas y saludables que preparabas y las charlas que hemos tenido. Espero poder volver ya que he estado muy cómoda y me he quedado con ganas de seguir ayudando ya que el tiempo se me pasó muy rápido. Un saludo

Cerys and Henry proved to be such a hard working, highly pleasant and delightful people to have around. A s a couple they radiate joy, as individuals they are each super interesting, smart, dependable and diligent. They work hard, are tidy, efficient and self sufficient. And as guests they are considerate, tidy, respectful of privacy, yet very easy socially also. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone as workaways, a great experience hosting them all round!

Lyann joined us as a volunteer in April — the hottest month in Thailand — and we are so grateful for her amazing support. 🌿 She comes from a background in environmental studies with veterinarian parents, which shows in her natural understanding and gentle way of treating even the shyest dogs. Her bright personality and positive energy always made everyone smile, and she brought such a wonderful vibe to our project. Lyann was patient, caring, and truly dedicated, even under the strong April heat. We deeply appreciate her kindness and the love she shared with all the dogs. We highly recommend Lyann to any future host — she’s responsible, kind, and full of positive spirit. We wish her a bright and successful future ahead! 💚

Sono stata da Franco 5 settimane nell'autunno 2024, mentre lui era in viaggio in Nepal ed è stata un'esperienza fantastica! La casa di Franco è grande e silenziosa, con vista sull'Etna, un orto, alberi di agrumi e 3 splendidi cani pronti a farti compagnia e chiedere coccole. Ho avuto la possibilità di esplorare i dintorni grazie ai contatti di Franco e le sue dritte e, nei giorni passati insieme, abbiamo fatto giri in bicicletta, sull'Etna e a Catania. E' una persona molto attiva e con tantissime storie interessanti da condividere! Spero di riuscire a tornare presto!

We loved our stay here. Darcie and Jeff are so welcoming, the most kind and generous hosts. We felt right at home and felt so privileged to get to know the family and experience a snippet of life in Vic! Jeff is a fabulous cook as well! We loved hanging out when we were house sitting with the dogs and my new bestie Radar ( cat)! Frankie was able to help Jeff complete a project which he needed an extra person to help with, the house is amazing and it's a big project! I really enjoyed working in the garden, it's a great space and the house is right in the village, so close to everything. This was our first workaway experience and it was so positive. Definitely wanted to stay longer and were sad to leave. Thank you guys for everything! Absolutely recommend for other workawayers! 100%

Gaia and Pietro stayed with us on the farm for nearly a full month, immersing themselves in a wide variety of tasks and gaining invaluable hands-on experience. I can scarcely express my gratitude to Leng—she's an extraordinary person. She integrated effortlessly into our vibrant young volunteer community and lifted everyone's spirits with her warmth and positivity. She consistently gives her all to be as helpful as possible. We were so happy to welcome Karlijn from the Netherlands as a volunteer at my foster home for rescued dog in Thailand during January 2025. From the very first day, she showed great compassion and patience with our rescue dogs — including those with special needs and shy personalities. Karlijn helped with daily care, walks, feeding, and cleaning, always with a positive attitude and a big smile. Even on hot days, sometimes working alone, she never got tired — always tireless and full of love, giving hugs and comfort to the doggies. She has studied law, aiming to use her knowledge to help people in the future. Her intelligence, humanity, and kindness shine through everything she does. We’re truly grateful for her time, dedication, and gentle heart. Karlijn will always be part of the our doggie family. I would recommend her to host who need good heart volunteer:)

What extraordinary people! 🌿 I had an amazing time at their place — living literally in the middle of the forest, surrounded by birds visiting the balcony every morning, was absolutely unreal. The tasks were clearly explained (I helped in the garden and worked on sanding tables and chairs). I especially loved our lovely dinner conversations over the absolutely yummmmy food prepared by chef James. Thank you both for creating such a peaceful, welcoming, and inspiring place ! 💚

Eve è stata un’ospite meravigliosa! È rimasta con noi per quasi tre settimane e in questo tempo è diventata parte della famiglia. Mi ha dato delle bellissime lezioni di inglese: ha un metodo di insegnamento molto efficace, chiaro e piacevole, e grazie a lei ho imparato davvero tanto. In casa è stata sempre gentile, educata, rispettosa delle regole e molto ordinata. Ha dato una mano nelle faccende domestiche con grande disponibilità e ha mostrato tanta dolcezza e pazienza con i bambini, giocando con loro e aiutando il più grande nei compiti a casa. Anche i nostri animali si sono subito affezionati a lei! Siamo stati davvero felici di averla con noi — una persona positiva, solare e di grande cuore. Speriamo di rivederla presto e la accoglieremo sempre a braccia aperte ogni volta che vorrà tornare a trovarci. 💕

Erin stayed with us for three weeks. During this time, we worked and relaxed together. Erin helped us in our glamping with gardening, and bedding. Erin was always punctual and happy to take on any task. Erin is a decent, grateful, and communicative person. We recommend Erin to other hosts.
