Pauline and Frankie are an amazing mother-son duo - kind, fun, responsible, competent and positive. They looked after our property and pets while we were away, but stayed a couple of extra days so we could spend time together, and we are so glad they did. Their attitude was very can-do, they went above and beyond looking after our beloved pets, and slotted right into our family life. They stayed in touch so we knew everything was going well, and they lavished attention on the dogs, who adored them. We would recommend them - separately or together - as really good people with a lot of positive energy, humour, and life experience.

Morena and Tere were the best hosts and now friends one could ever hope to meet. The house is up in the mountains yet close enough to Moriara, Javea and Denia for visits. I mostly painted the outside of the house and enjoyed the whole experience, especially being able to practice my Spanish and cook. I learned so much from Morena and Tere about Spanish life, drumming, ecstatic dance, and so much more. Highly recommend!

Eglantine and Michael have been really helpful and friendly. It has been a real pleasure having met them. They helped a lot in oir daily chores. They have kept the house clean and were reslly reliable and trustworthy. We are really looking forward to meet them again in future. Antonio

It was an absolute pleasure to stay with Ania, Alan and the boys. I felt very welcomed by the whole family and they included me in everything, which was so nice. Ania and Alan speak very good English and made an effort to keep me included when we met with Polish speaking family and friends. I stayed for 10 days and it felt more as if I was staying with family than working. We went out everyday to visit the city, museums, nearby parks or family. During my stay I learned a lot about the history of Poland and Poznan, which I am very grateful for. I also really enjoyed playing games, not only with the kids but all together too. I only hope I gave enough as I received. I would highly recommend staying with Ania and her family :) I will miss laughing with you all

Volunteering here in Berat, Albania was truly a joy! When I was scrabbling to find something in Albania with everyone being full in the summer, they took me in. Right from the get go I knew it was going to be an amazing time. I made a friend right away with the other volunteer. And the place is beautiful and very clean. The tasks I was doing were simple but important for the hostel to run. So it felt good to do them. Checking people in was fun, and I made lots of friends with the guests that stayed at the hostel. It’s not a party hostel so it was nice and relaxing there. Soni was a treat to work with. Very nice and a great person. He gave me the autonomy to take care of the place. And the tours he runs were amazing to go on. It was very nice to talk to him when he stopped by the hostel, and he welcomed me in like family. I will be forever grateful for this. I also want to give a shoutout to everyone else working there and in the office. The hospitality they gave me was so nice, and they are very generous and fun. Thank you so much for the opportunity and I hope to come back to Albania soon!

We had the great pleasure of welcoming Holly, a 24-year-old teacher from the UK, for about eight weeks. She currently teaches children aged 4 to 11 in England, and from the very first day, her professionalism, passion for education, and strong sense of responsibility truly stood out. She is cheerful, friendly, and has excellent communication skills that allow her to connect with anyone easily. She always showed a genuine interest in learning about Japanese culture, listened carefully to my advice, and approached every challenge with a positive attitude. Although there are many cultural differences between the UK and Japan, I deeply appreciated her sincere effort to understand and respect them. In the classroom, she was always smiling and interacted with each student with kindness and patience. Even when some students struggled to understand English, she never gave up and continued to teach them warmly and passionately, which encouraged the children to listen carefully and try their best to communicate in English. Her teaching style was flexible and creative, full of ideas that captured the children’s interest. Her bright and positive energy made the entire class smile every day. During these eight weeks, not only the students but also I learned so much from her. She is truly an outstanding teacher and a person I can trust from the bottom of my heart. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to welcome her. Wherever she goes, I am certain she will bring happiness and be loved by everyone around her. Thank you so much, Holly. Please come visit us again someday, the students would love to see you!

Lisa and Jeff made my final stay in Australia truly wonderful. I feel so lucky that I got to connect with them in last minute! I came to Tasmania drawn by its environment, and although they were worried about the unpredictable weather, I was able to enjoy incredible scenery and activities even in just ten days. They offered me so many fun experiences beyond the daily work. Lisa took me hiking, to the beach, and to local markets. She also taught me about her passions for soap making and basket weaving, and introduced me to her lovely community and friends. She’s cheerful, entertaining, and warm-hearted, always making everyone around her smile. I learned so much from her deep knowledge of plants and Tasmania’s nature. Jeff is a calm and creative person with an artistic talent, and he welcomed me so warmly. Collecting firewood was tough but exciting! They always gave clear instructions and worked alongside me, so I never felt nervous or uncertain. Their respect for Japanese culture and openness to diverse perspectives really broadened my worldview. Though I came to Wynyard by chance, its beautiful landscapes, friendly people, and healthy lifestyle inspired me deeply. I’m so grateful for every fulfilling day I spent there. I really hope to visit them again!! If you’re interested in experiencing real life in Tasmania and diverse activities, I highly recommend Lisa and Jeff. And don’t miss their adorable and funny cats, Lisa’s amazing pavlova too!

Edith and Daniel, It was great to have this dynamic and incredibly active couple with us. They helped us a lot with our daily tasks and beyond. They are also both very good cooks. We hope to see them again.

Antonia is a very special person, an old soul in a young body. She was of great help, very precise and quick; she helped me painting few rooms and renovating these overall with a great effect, she was cooking very well, she helped me out with walking Tea, our dog and many other things, with lots of patience and calmness. Her kindness and gentleness brought a flair of fresh air in our home. I wish you all the best Antonia, knowing you'll have great success!

The two of them brought us a lot of joy, we had a great time, and they showed us how good tequila tastes. They planted our entrance area all by themselves and did a great job. It's a shame they were only with us for such a short time.

Yan was with us for a week and it was a real pleasure having her. It felt like true intercultural understanding, as we had many interesting conversations about the different lives we lead in our home countries. And despite the differences, we found we had a lot in common and shared many laughs together. A truly enriching experience! Yan is an open-hearted, warm, interesting, and courageous person, and it was a pleasure to work with her. She was highly motivated to help out wherever she could and showed great perseverance even during demanding tasks. The authentic Chinese two-course meal she cooked for us was absolutely delicious! Thank you for being with us, Yan!

Angie was such a joy to work with. She was kind, funny, and incredibly hardworking. She got along really well with Theo, and right from the start, she brought so much energy and great ideas that helped move the project forward. The groundwork was no joke—it was tough—but Angie didn’t back down. She wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and jumped right in. We worked side by side, cooked meals together, and shared lots of laughs over meals. She always made sure we had dessert—maybe it’s a French thing ;) It was those little touches that made everything feel more special. Anytime we needed help, she was there. No complaints, no hesitation.. She even helped us get the house prepped for the rental—cleaning, organizing, and making sure everything looked just right. Her positive vibe kept everyone going, and we’re honestly so thankful for everything she did.

Thomas is truly great great helper: cheerful, strong, fit, open minded & easy going, with lot of energy and wide knowledge! He stayed one week and helped me a lot: we were renovating the balcony and he brought, mixed and poured several bags of concrete himself, very hard work! Next was sanding and painting the doorframes, which he did very well. Thomas is very good in calisthenics so if you are interested in this field he can teach you a lot (just need some space to hang his gim rings) and he makes the best lasagna ever:) Thank you so much for your big help, It was pleasure to meet you, good luck on your journey and hopefuly see you again!

Camille and Justine were such wonderful Workawayers! 🌿 They brought a calm and positive energy to our home and were always happy to help with any task. Their attitude was great — always flexible and open to changes. It was truly an honor to be their first host, and we wish them many amazing experiences on their travels ahead. Pat and Fidelma truly are the kindest hosts! From day one, I was welcomed into their home and lives and genuinely felt like part of their family. They made sure that tasks were varied and tailored to my skillset and checked in with me daily to give me a heads up about what was coming up next. We shared wonderful conversations about everything and nothing and their warmth and kindness made this a very special experience for me. Pat and Fidelma are incredibly generous - they offered plenty of tips for exploring the area, books to read and gave me rides whenever I needed them. Thank you both so much for a wonderful time. Thanks for this great stay. Sanna gave me a warm welcome all the days. After long travelling in my Van, i enjoyed the silent Island, the nice Cabin with a great view, the Sauna and kayaking and nice talks. I got lot of delicious food and enjoyed also cooking together. Went together to pick mushrooms, which I could dry for myself. The work was all, what a House and Yard needs. The dog is also super friendly and likes some action. Was two weeks and enjoyed it all the time. Learnt a lot about living in this Area and Finland.

On m'avais dit que mes deux semaines à la clinique allaient passer trop vite et c'est vrai! L'équipe de la clinique est accueillante et le travail avec les autres volontaires enrichissant! Carl est ultra disponible et gentil, il a été d'un grand secours dans une situation difficile pour moi, je le remercie encore!! Les maisons sont propres et super confortables! Il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner même si vous aurez sans doute envie d'essayer les restos des environs ou les merveilles du marché local. Il y a de nombreux chiens à aimer et cajoler. Je conseille l'expérience aux amoureux des animaux qui veulent vivre une expérience thai authentique. Andrée

Nous avons bien apprécié d’accueillir Izzy pour un workaway chez nous ! En commençant par les qualités et aptitudes, on peut dire qu’Izzy : -possède un bon sens de l’observation qui lui permet une bonne réactivité et de s’adapter rapidement -comprend bien ce qui est à faire et si elle a un doute, elle vérifie plutôt que d’agir - se rend disponible facilement et propose son aide dans les travaux de maison - assure les travaux physiques - personne conviviale, possédant un bon humour anglais, communique très bien en français ! Nous avons apprécié son calme et sa sérénité Nous serons contents de la revoir à nouveau
