  We are a family of four living in the heart of Catania, Sicily: Giulia, Roberto and our two boys, Mattia (11) and Andrea (8).
  
  We would love to welcome someone into our family for a few weeks, share our everyday life and help our boys improve their English 🇬🇧( And start integrating some Spanish words) 🇪🇸in a fun and natural way.
  
  The boys already have a busy school routine, so we are not looking for someone to give them more traditional lessons. We would rather have someone who enjoys spending time with children and can turn their interests into opportunities to speak and learn English.
  
  They love Minecraft, Roblox, Pokémon, LEGO, board games, sports and technology. We would love someone who can suggest fun activities, creative games or little challenges and encourage them to use English without making it feel like studying.
  
  Experience working with children is important to us. We would especially welcome someone who has worked as a tutor, teacher, au pair, camp leader or in a similar role. You don't need to be a professional teacher, but we appreciate patience, creativity, responsibility and initiative.
  
  In return, we are happy to share our home, Italian food and family life, and help you discover Catania and Sicily. We want this to be a genuine cultural exchange that everyone enjoys, with plenty of free time for you to explore.

  We offer a genuine cultural exchange within our family.
  
  The main focus of the experience is English: we would love our children to have regular, natural exposure to English while developing their speaking, vocabulary, comprehension and, gradually, their written English through enjoyable activities.
  
  In return, we are happy to share our Italian family life, food, traditions and everyday routines, and to help our Workawayer discover Catania and Sicily.
  
  You will have plenty of free time to explore the city and the island independently. We are always happy to suggest places to visit, events, beaches, restaurants and interesting things to see.
  
  If you are interested in learning Italian, we will be happy to help you practise it during everyday family life.
  
  If you speak Spanish, that is also a lovely bonus for us, as our eldest child has recently started studying Spanish at school.

  The main help we need is spending time with our boys in English, usually after school and homework.
  
  We would love someone who can come up with fun ways to practise English based on their interests and energy that day. This could mean playing board games, doing creative activities, reading short texts, cooking together, going for walks or using games like Minecraft as a way to communicate in English.
  
  We don't expect formal lessons or hours of preparation, but we do appreciate someone who takes initiative and enjoys coming up with ideas.
  
  There may also be a little help with everyday family life, such as setting or clearing the table and tidying up after activities. No heavy cleaning or demanding household chores.
  
  We can discuss the routine together and find what works best for everyone.

  You will have a large private bedroom with high ceilings, original frescoes, two balconies, a desk, a comfortable double bed and Wi-Fi.
  
  We enjoy sharing meals and everyday family life, while also respecting your privacy and independence.
  
  Our home is in the historic centre of Catania, so cafés, restaurants, shops and the local market are all nearby. You will also have time to explore the rest of Sicily during your free time.
  
  We simply ask you to respect our home, keep your room tidy and help with the small things that come with living together.

  We live in the historic centre of Catania, surrounded by cafés, restaurants, shops, the historic market and many of the city's main attractions.
  
  Catania is also a great base for exploring Sicily, including Mount Etna, Taormina, Syracuse, beaches and many beautiful towns.
  
  We are a friendly and sociable family and enjoy sharing our home with people from different countries. At the same time, we completely respect the fact that our Workawayer will want to have their own plans, friends and time to explore.
  
  We have four pets, including two cats and two Chihuahuas, so you should be comfortable around animals. They are very much part of our family. ❤️
  
  We offer food and accommodation in exchange for a few hours of help and English-language activities with the children. This is a cultural exchange, not a formal paid teaching position.
  
  We are looking for someone who wants to experience family life in Sicily while also making a real difference to our children's English.

  We are a friendly family and enjoy meeting people from different countries and cultures. We also respect your independence, your own plans and your free time.
