Aneta stayed with us for about 2 months and we was happier with her volunteer helps. We were hoping to do a lot of work together in the garden, but the first week my wife broke a leg, so she helped without us. She mostly helped with gardening and was very good at it, spent most of the time outdoors also with some bad weather days, preparing the garden alone. She is a very conscientious volunteer and a mature person. Highly recommended and we hope to guest her again.

What an absolutely incredible time I had at the Hostel, so happy I made the decision to volunteer there. It has such a wonderful vibe, it makes volunteering there super easy and enjoyable. I had some amazing volunteers who I shared my time with which made it all the more special ❤️ A huge thank you to Chantal and Claire who made everything super comfortable, explaining everything you need to know for when you do your shifts and being just the best ‘bosses’ (but more accurately - ‘friends’) anyone could ask for. Puerto viejo is a beautiful town, I loved spending my mornings or afternoons chilling at one of the many amazing beaches, or playing beach volleyball, walking, National park exploring, reading, (unfortunately it wasn’t surfing season so couldn’t do that otherwise I would’ve taken full advantage). My evenings were often chilling in the kitchen / common or area chatting to the other volunteers or guests over a beer or cuppa tea, it has a great communal feeling. I highly recommend volunteering here if you get the chance. Thanks again guys, will miss this place ❤️

We had a good time at Micols house, she and her family are really nice and welcoming. We stayed in her campervan, which was nice and cozy. The work wasn‘t much, we helped cleaning, cooking and cutting wood. Micol was always open to drive us to the trainstation so we could visit Roma, which was nice. Thank you for having us!

I only spent a few days in the lovely village of Zhulat, but this workaway was a truly wonderful experience. Fatmir was very accommodating and welcomed me with a big smile. He is passionate, very knowledgeable, and eager to share insights about the country's culture and history. He makes us feel at home. I will cherish the memories of the meals we shared together and the always enriching conversations. I hope to return one day; I can only highly recommend this workaway. A big thank you to Fjona, Fatmir, and their lovely Durdan. It was the best I could wish for!

Peyton is an incredibly warm-hearted and delightful young woman, and we thoroughly enjoyed having her as part of our family during her two-week stay. Her positive energy brought so much joy to our home, and we’re so pleased she felt welcomed and comfortable with us. We are particularly grateful for the effort Peyton put into working with our son, Tanura. Despite it being her first experience teaching English, she handled it brilliantly. It’s wonderful to know that she and Tanura found a rhythm and even managed to have fun in the process. Her determination and creativity were truly appreciated. We sincerely hope our paths will cross again in the future—she will always have a place in our home. Wishing Peyton every success in her future adventures and teaching endeavours!

This family looked after me so well. They are so welcoming, accommodating and caring, and did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable and felt like part of the family. Their son is charming, playful and full of energy, and his English is very impressive. The work is enjoyable and leaves plenty of time to explore Kyoto and other surrounding areas. Mayumi is very helpful in recommending places to see. The work and other aspects of daily living are communicated thoroughly. I feel so grateful to have spent four months with them, and cannot recommend them more. I will never forget this experience, and miss them all already.

An absolute pleasure staying with Sean and Ingrid at their house near Boston. Had a wonderful time discovering the area and local spots to see. Sean was good about the tasks he wanted to complete and organised what materials he wanted. Also we were blessed with nice weather and completed his trail steps and flashing for his deck which was nice to see finish. I also had great conversations with Sean and Ingrid over meals which was very nice and they gave of there time if I needed any information about the local train or nearest towns to check out. I took the bike and got to explore the local area which was great. Ingrid was very nice to drop me to the train too. Will keep in touch and would definitely recommend a workaway at their house.

I really enjoyed this experience working with the kids was fun and worth the time I spent. if you need an extra day off the staff is accommodating and they also take you to do fun activities when you're not working. close to the store and market which was nice. the office is really nice and new and has all materials to teach students. Thw owners family is great and kind and welcoming and the other staff there is so helpful if you have questions about where to go and things to do. great experience!

Tengo que decir que todas las personas que trabajan para este lugar tienen unas calidades humanas únicas , desde el inicio de mi voluntariado me hicieron sentir como en casa , pude aprender del cuidado de los animales de algunas de sus costumbres y como de probar su deliciosa comida . If you’re looking for a reliable and caring dog and house sitter, let me tell you about Paul. He recently took care of my home and pets, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! Paul went above and beyond—my dogs were happy, well-fed, and even my pups on medication were cared for perfectly. He also left my home spotless, treating it with the utmost respect. What I loved most were the updates and adorable dog pictures that kept me stress-free while I was away. The only downside? He’s so good you’ll need to book early! If you’re considering Paul, do it—he’s fantastic! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about my experience.

Axelle and Louise are really lovely girls. They have been at our places for ten days and have been very useful for overall jobs: gardening, cleaning, painting and small crafting. They never backed up to any request. It's nice talking with them and they really love animals. They also cooked a great french dish for us! Highly recommended.

We loved meeting Flo and hosting him at our place - he is a great person to have around, very positive, interesting to talk to, and enthusiastic - we had lots of good conversations and visits to nearby parks and museums. He has a wide range of skills and helped us with all kinds of things; posting videos on a website, walking and feeding the dogs, cleaning up the kitchen and house, and painting some walls in the garage. He took fantastic care of our two dogs Nico and Finn and both dogs loved him. We highly recommend Flo to anyone and we hope to host him again in the future.

This was my first Workaway experience, and it was a pleasure. I stayed with Leonie, Sebastian, Flora, and Nika for a little over a month in their house in Fürstenhagen. The house is indeed a very old (and big) half-timbered building; however, the living areas, and especially the room I stayed in, were very nice and perfectly livable. The benefit of the house's age is that you can still observe the old architecture and look at the ancient farm equipment. Living there was unlike anything I’ve experienced before – a wood stove, a winter garden, and an amazing view over the village and the surrounding fields, hills, and farm animals. The work mainly involved gardening, helping with house repairs, assisting with cooking and canning garden produce, and picking apples (it was the season). My personal favorite task was riding on a tractor to the nearby woods to split, bring back, and store firewood for seasoning. Leonie is an aspiring gardener and knows a lot about different plants and herbs. It was always enjoyable to sit in the living room together and have conversations about various topics. Sebastian is a very calm and hardworking man, and it was always a pleasure working alongside him, whether preparing wood or making repairs in and around the house. The work was enjoyable, not too strenuous, and both Sebastian and Leonie were very flexible, always checking to see what tasks I preferred. The children. Nika and Flora, are very energetic and fun to watch.The family mainly follows a vegetarian lifestyle, with an emphasis on self-reliance. While I was staying, there was a great harvest of pumpkins from the garden, which led to some very tasty pumpkin stews. The location might seem a little remote; however, it is entirely possible to walk and reach the Offensen station in around 40 or 50 minutes away if taking the scenic route through the fields. Once at the train station, it’s only a 30 minute ride to Göttingen. i would highly recommend this experience to anyone.

Enise is a curious, thoughtful and respectful girl. We enjoyed having her as guest for 25 days. She shared with us her interests and her non-stereotyped vision of the world. She helped our daughter with her English homework and communicated with her in a calm, relaxed and productive way. She is independent and can build relationships easily, She knows how to move with great autonomy. We wish her all the best in life

I spent a beautiful around 4 weeks in this ecovillage, working with other volunteers on the construction of wooden houses under the supervision of the great Gaetan, he really knows what he´s doing. The atmosphere is very familiar and they really make you feel part of that family. We shared meals, chats and games, and I always felt welcome. I can say that I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. I thank this great family for hosting me in this wonderful place. If you are planning to go to France, don't hesitate to contact them!

This was our first Workaway experience, and we absolutely loved it! Hildegard and Norbert were so welcoming, it did not take long until we felt like a small family:) The work was very much as described in the ad. We were there in september and started work early in the morning, usually around 6:30-7:00. The type of work varies a lot, depending on what needs to be done. We worked mostly with Hildegard, and she always described carefully what needed to be done and helped us if we did not understand something, which we really appreciated. Although Norbert did not speak any English, he was eager to show us around the beautiful vegetable- and herb garden. We sometimes woke up to find that he had put different vegetables and fruits from the garden on our outside table, which were fantastically delicious! Hildegard and Norbert regularly asked us if we wanted to come grocery shopping with them, which was very nice, as the location of the workaway is quite remote. Although this makes for the most stunning view and beautiful sunsets, the hike down to the town can be a bit tough, especially in the warmer periods and after a day of work. But, if you enjoy some physical work and exercise there should not be much of a problem. We will be forever grateful for our stay with you. Thank you for showing us a different way of living than what we are used to. It was extremely inspiring, and we will definitely take the knowledge we gained from you with us further in our lives:) Also give Zappa (their lovely cat) a big, big hug from us!
