My volunteer experience in Santa Rosa was great. The accommodation was a clean, one bedroom apartment next to the main road and school. Angel's family helped me a lot and I will not forget their hospitality. There were few stores in the village but everybody went to Puerto Ayora by bus / taxi ( $1) to get a cheaper grocery item. Two months living in Santa Rosa creates a good opportunity for me to practice my Spanish language as well as knowing the friendly local people. Also there was enough day off to explore the other Islands like San Cristobal, Isabela, Pinson, and lovely beaches in Santa Cruz. It is good to know that Santa Rosa is a small village located in Santa Cruz Island.

Sandra was with us for only a short few weeks but she was really enthusiastic about spring cleanup and wood stacking! All the other chores she did very quickly. She was very intent on finishing her tasks. Sandra is very outgoing and had many ideas on our work and improvements. We made sure she had time off, driving her in to town to take care of the things she would need to extend her travel plans. We took time away from the chores to get her driver’s license, medical insurance, and thrift shopping. She was responsible and made up her time on other days. We had a lot of fun barbecuing. In addition to chores, Sandra was very hands on in the kitchen making wonderful treats and cleaning up after meals. She participated in taking care of daily mutual tasks keeping the kitchen and shared spaces clean and tidy. We enjoyed cooking together. She spent her weekends off exploring and planning her next part of her travels. We hope she can stop by again to say hi!

Emilie is a wonderful and cheerful girl. My dog ​​loved her and now misses her very much. Maybe she's a little shy at first, but over time she becomes a member of the family. She approaches tasks with passion and is creative. She is not a morning person but prefers to work in the afternoons. She is honest and trustworthy. Emilie, we wish you all the best, many wonderful adventures and meeting new friends. We hope to see you again someday.

Wow, where to start! I absolutely adored my short time spent here and cannot believe how quickly this space became my home. This land (and the people who live here) are simply magic. This has honestly been one of my favourite workaways so far, where I’ve truly felt so connected to the other workawayers and people living here - we had fires and communal meals, movie nights and went dancing, it was everything I dream of! Also the outdoor kitchen and house are so SO beautiful! My main tasks during my two week stay included deep cleaning the outdoor kitchen and staining wood in a newly built bedroom. I really enjoyed working with others on the tasks. The location is out of town but has spectacular hiking trails within walking distance, up mount Maxwell (an absolute must!) If community is what you’re looking for, then this is for you! I cannot wait to return later this summer! Love and light always, Emma

My volunteer experience at Denise and Jesse' farm was very unique. I had the luxury of having a quiet shelter with sufficient amenities. Denise was nice enough for a free weekly ride to the Farmers Market to do our grocery shopping. Jesse was patient enough to share his knowledge about, art, culture, agriculture and nature. I had the opportunity to spend some time with their two lovely, very smart kids, which was very delightful. Staying with Jesse family is a wonderful chance to experience pure nature in all levels plus lots of positive vibes.

Mihai workes with us the month of Mai. We got a lot of work done. He was very friendly with the whole family. He is very independent and easy going. Thank you so much Mihai!

Christian y su familia son gente encantadora. Pasamos una bonita semana con ellos y comimos unas pizzas deliciosas. Para la gente a la que le gusta escalar, ¡este es el lugar ideal!

Mi estancia con Matías fue muy bien. Es una persona bastante acogedora y que muy rápidamente me hizo confiar en él. Su cabaña es perfecta para quienes buscan tranquilidad.

My time spent with Silvia, Eros and their children was completely wonderful, they are a beautiful couple who’s kindness and generosity is inspiring. i can truthfully say their way of life has influenced myself moving forward , especially in the kitchen 😁. Eros was an amazing cook and his knowledge and passion for food was fabulous. Our accommodation was a bell tent, tastefully decorated and very comfortable, we would listen every evening to the array of animals making themselves hard , very loud and totally brilliant experiences ! We worked on the land, made marmalade and helped with some sewing projects.in our free time we walked to the local villages, relaxed by the pool and in our last evening climbed the mountain with Eros and Luca behind the finca, amazing views , such a beautiful place. I felt very relaxed and welcomed for my entire stay , i made some truly amazing memories that i will cherish for ever😁.

We couldn’t dream of a better experience in Mexico. If you are looking for a farm life with lots of adorable animals, learning new things, feeling useful and helping a wonderful family (with the biggest hearts), this is for you. We absolutely loved spending time with the family and learning from them. Thank you so much Benja, Jesus, Lupita y Gerardo. We miss you!!

I had suuuch an amazing month on Phillip Island with Mikala, Wes, and Juno! I was immediately treated like a part of the crew and it was easy to feel comfortable. Mikala is so reasonable when it comes to hours / type of work. I mainly helped out with watching Wes, cooking dinners (and adding to her Workaway recipe book:) ), and doing some gardening projects. Mikala and Wes both wanted me to enjoy my time on the island and were really amazing tour guides - we even got to go camping! I also learned to surf!!!!, which was incredible, and I explored a lot on my own with a bike. Thank you so much for being such an amazing host and friend :) MISS YOU GUYS!!! If you’re considering spending some time with them, don’t hesitate!

I had a fantastic time in the rainforest in Bajo Tigre. It’s a wonderful, eye-opening and truly unique experience. You are staying in an incredible setting and will see an abundance of amazing wildlife. All the staff are very friendly and share their passion of the local area. You will have lots of opportunities to practice your Spanish. Yes, the phone signal is very limited, but I thoroughly benefitted from being off-grid for a few weeks and without the distractions of the internet. There is a wide selection of books available and multiple areas to chill. Card and board games are there too. The work is mostly washing dishes, making beds and cleaning. All meals are included and you will also have the opportunity to go rafting too which is a brilliant experience. Gracias. Pura vida.

I had a wonderful time staying and working in Ernes with Luz, amazing, peaceful and beautiful, close to nature in such an original village…. My first experience with Workaway worked out great and will return here ! A healthy environment for body and mind 👍

Paola y Jacques son un amor de personas: respetuosos, tranquilos, limpios y puntuales. Tienen muchas habilidades y les preocupa hacer bien su trabajo, trabajan con precisión, cuidando los detalles y los acabados. Han estado una decena de días en casa y nos han ayudado en tareas de electricidad (instalar una nueva línea eléctrica para varios ventiladores en el techo) pintura de paredes y mobiliario de exterior (son muy precisos pintando y extremadamente cuidadosos y limpios) y han rejuntado con silicona la encimera de la cocina. Nos ha faltado tiempo para que Paola pudiera pintarnos algunas cenefas en el recibidor, pero así tendremos una oportunidad para reencontrarnos en el futuro :-) Muchas gracias chicos y os deseo lo mejor en vuestros viajes futuros!

Hosting Tamika and Johanna was a real pleasure! They were so easy going, fun and interesting, we could talk for hours about any subject.. They were really nice with the girls and always motivated for doing things. We were happy to show our region and see their enthusiasm discovering new places. They helped out very spontaneously with daily tasks and everything went fluently. The time flew by! We will keep good memories of our exchanges and always welcome back ;)

Kate and Alex volunteered with us for two weeks and put a lot of energy and sweat in our project. Very nice, kind and fun couple and they helped us a lot in the land with any work that needed to be done. Thank you so much to both of you for coming and for all your efforts.

Dear Josef, Louise, Sion, and Eli, We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the two fantastic weeks we spent with you through Workaway. From the first moment to the last, we cherished every minute. What a beautiful haven you've created together! It was a delight to share in the beauty of your homes, garden, and surroundings. We felt incredibly welcomed into your family, and it meant so much to us to be able to be ourselves completely. The conversations we shared were enriching, and the experiences we had together were unforgettable. Working alongside Josef to build the pergola was a highlight; it truly adds charm to the garden. We painted, gathered countless branches, lit fires, tidied up a bit, and cooked meals together, though most often it was Josef or Louise in charge of the cooking, and what delicious meals they served! We relished the sauna by the lake, punctuated by refreshing (cold) dips. Louise's premiere of 'Leaving Jesus' was a memorable event, as was our excursion to Stockholm with Sion. And of course, we can't forget the six kittens and their sweet mother in the bathroom - they were truly a delight. Sion and Eli are remarkable children, wonderful to communicate with and to be around. Our two weeks with you were everything we had hoped for in a Workaway experience. Thank you once again for all that we learned from you, your hospitality, and your warmth and kindness. We wish you all the best, with light and love guiding your path. I really enjoyed my Stay here. Gwendal and Negar are really kind hosts and are eager to share their knowledge about the land and their experiences. The accomodation is beautifully build and you can experince life close to nature. The three dogs were also really kind. The tasks for me included gardening work like planting and weeding as well as building flower beds, collecting rocks and chopping wood. The surrounding nature is beautiful and full of wildlife that can be explored on the days off or in the afternoons. I would highly recommend for people that enjoy living close to nature

Ruth was with us in two different periods for almost a month, she taught my wife English. During this time, she improved a lot and now she can have conversations with the guests or solve any questions that may arise. But besides that, she became a friend of the staff, she is a very easy-going person, always friendly with everyone, with a very positive, proactive, independent, and punctual vibe. We will miss you Ruth, you are always welcome and we wish you the best.
