Descrição
We are looking for Workawayers with different skills (but open to all!):
* Construction / handy work: painting, drywall, woodwork, general repairs.
* Caregiving: nurse or someone comfortable helping with an elderly family member (my mother-in-law, who is bedbound).
* Photography: Would love to have some profesional-like pictures of the kids! (Ideally someone happy to also help with other tasks).
* Tech-savvy helper: to set up Arlo cameras, Alexas, and other smart devices.
* Swimming teacher: for our 4-year-old twins.
* Early childhood education: kindergarten, PE, music, art, or other school-related activities.
👋 Hello! I’m Solana (American-Argentine). My husband (an Argentine-Spanish bagpiper), our twin toddlers (4 years old), and I live in a spacious home in the heart of Palermo—the trendiest neighborhood in Buenos Aires.
We share the house with a dog, two cats, and a tortoise, who absolutely rule our garden. There’s also a pool you can enjoy year-round—even in winter! I work from home, and when he’s in town, my husband does too. My mother in law lives 3 blocks from our place and we also appreciate a workawayer who can help us help her.
✨ What we’re looking for
When hosting, we value someone who speaks English (except when helping with my mother in law in which case Spanish is a must), and ideally only English, enjoys kids, and brings creativity. Sometimes we’ll need help with the twins—playing, swimming, biking, or cooking together—and sometimes with small home projects (there’s always one pending!). If you’re handy, even better: we’ll be painting the house soon.
We’ve hosted many travelers and love the experience! You can choose how involved you want to be: join us for meals and family life, or just enjoy your space and independence. We know travelers often have busy schedules, tango dancers, tourists, digital nomads... so we’re flexible.
⏰ Work & exchange
Full exchange: 25 hours per week (definitely a few on weekends), in exchange for housing, some meals, and the warmth of joining our family. We welcome Workawayers as part of our “pack.” We’re all very friendly—except for the tortoise, but she’s slow so you’ll have time to escape 😉.
Partial exchange: 15 hours per week (some on weekends), in exchange for housing only (no meals, no laundry, etc.).
📩 When contacting us, please include:
* Where you’re from and what languages you speak (including what's your first language)
* What dates you’d like to stay with us and for how long
* If you have any specific skills you want to share
* Your previous stop and next destination
* What kind of exchange you'd like to have (full, parcial, another alternative...)Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

I’m a language teacher, so I can help you with Spanish. My husband is a musician and would be happy to share his passion with you as much as you’d like. We have a piano and lots of other instruments at home. We also have plenty of books (I used to be an avid reader… before the kids!) and we’re very social, so our house often becomes the meeting place for friends to enjoy asados (typical barbecues) and mate (our traditional morning and afternoon tea).
I love biking and have a bike you can borrow—our neighborhood has plenty of bike lanes and great parks nearby. My husband is also a fantastic cook and happy to share his recipes and secrets! I’m terrible in the kitchen 😅 but I used to work as a TV producer, so I’m great at finding creative, practical solutions to all sorts of situations.
And then there are our kids: they’ll laugh with you, give you hugs, tell you stories, and show you their toys… not sure how much they’ll lend them though—they’re still learning to share 😂Projetos que envolvem crianças

We’d love our kids to be more exposed to English, so we’re looking for someone who can play with them a few hours a day (or spend longer stretches of time with them on weekends) while also enjoying family life with us.
We also appreciate someone who considers themselves handy and enjoys DIY projects, since our house is quite big and there’s always something to improve—of course, you don’t need to know how to do everything!
Most importantly, we want you to enjoy your time in Buenos Aires, and we’ll do everything we can to help make that happen.Idiomas

Our house is spacious, so you’ll be as independent as you like. You’ll have all the comforts of a typical city home—hot water, WiFi, a clean space, sheets, towels, etc.—plus some extras: a year-round heated indoor pool, a bike, a garden, and our pets to keep you company.
We do have a few house rules.
You’re free to come and go whenever you like (no curfew!), but since we have a security system, you’ll probably need to set it when you come home after our bedtime.Algo mais...
We’re easygoing, open-minded, and love connecting with people from all over the world! Having traveled extensively ourselves, we know how transformative these experiences can be. That’s why we’re excited to host fellow adventurers who share our flexible, go-with-the-flow attitude.
Come with an open heart, a willingness to help, and a sense of adventure—we’ll make sure your Workaway experience is as rewarding as possible!Mais alguns detalhes

Our internet connection is the best available, but it is still pretty bad in my American opinion. Argentina has a lot of work to do in that sense!! That being said, both my husband and I work online and we rarely have an internet related issue that prevents us from working well.
Pode aceitar animais
As long as your pet can coexist with ours and our kids, they are welcome to come!

Gatito and Borgoña (3 anos)
Gatito and Borgoña are very different. Gatito (stray) is warm and friendly, would cuddle with you any chance he gets, and wonders around the neighborhood all the time. Borgoña, on the other hand, the Siamese cat, is afraid of everything, will not let you go too close to her or will do it very carefully and rarely leaves the upper floor. Both are super soft and beautiful.
Lalo (7 anos)
Lalo is a big dog, a mix. Maybe the size of a labrador but slimmer and maybe slightly higher. Playful as a labrador. He does not break or chew on anything he shouldn't, but he will eat anything he finds (edible). He is very well potty trained, and he only barks when something is going on outside our door.
