  Hello! I'm Solana (American ) I live in Buenos Aires with my Spanish bagpiper husband, and our 3-year-old twins. Our home is a spacious haven located in the heart of Palermo, a trendy neighborhood bustling with cafes, parks, and cultural activities. We have a dog a cat and a tortoise, who are the kings of our garden. We also have an all year round pool, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunny Buenos Aires even in winter.
  I work from home and my husband travels a lot for work but when he’s in town he works from home too. The kids go to school many hours a day so it is nice and quite to work or relax but when they are home they are kids! They play, talk, use the pool and want to know everyone who comes in the house.
  There is a woman who does the cleaning in the house and lives with us, she helps me a lot especially when my husband is out of town and she is part of the family. We are all super friendly, except for the tortoise, but at least she is slow and will give you time to run away!

  I am a language teacher so I can help you with Spanish (and some French!). My husband is a musician and will be available to share his interest with you as much as you want. We have a piano and many other instruments. We also have lots of books (I used to be an avid reader… before the kids!) and we are extremely social so our house is usually the place where our friends meet, make asados (typical barbecues), and have mate (our typical morning and afternoon tea). I love biking and own a bike you could borrow, and we have bike lanes all over our neighborhood, apart from great parks in the area too. My husband is a great cook and is willing to share his recipes and secrets! I am terrible in the kitchen but I used to be a TV producer so I am very good at finding solutions to all sorts of situations, logistically and practically! Our kids will laugh with you and give you hugs and tell you stories and show you their toys… not sure how much they will lend… they are still learning to share 😂

  I’d like my kids to be more exposed to English. We would like to host someone who could play with them a couple of hours a day and that could have fun with all of us as a family. It is important to us that you enjoy yourself while in BA and we will help in any way necessary for that to happen.

  We prefer the guest to only speak English when the kids are at home. But they are gone over 7 hours a day so, there will be many opportunities for us to speak any language you want (as long as we can!) I speak English and Spanish, some French and my husband is also fluent in Italian and Portuguese.

  Acomodação

  Our house is big so you will have your own room. There’s all the comfort of a typical big city house (hot water, WiFi, clean place, sheets, towels, a fridge full of food, nice family dinners, etc). Plus the pool (all year!! Warm and indoors), bike, garden, pets. We do have rules, you can come and go at any time (no curfew) but we don’t allow guests we haven’t previously met (and are ok with them being in our house).

  We are open and flexible and are looking for someone who is too. We have both travelled a lot and met people from all over the world and we think traveling is the best experience one can have. So enjoy being a workawayer!
